New Durley Dean Hotel
, BournemouthNew Durley Dean Hotel reviews
My friend and I had booked a trip to Bournemouth with a local travel company. We did not know where we were staying at first, but we both agreed we struck lucky. The staff were very friendly, and both the breakfast and the dinner were more than adequate. The room wasn't very big, but the beds were very comfortable. Very near a footpath down to the beach, but the only thing that spoilt the stay for me was the distance from the town centre. We didn't bother going into town in the end; we just made use of the beach. We have both agreed that we may consider another stay there sometime.

- Advice: A great place for the walker and seaside lover to stay at. Shoppers be prepared for a walk or a cab.

We saw our room, which was clean but very small and not of the standard I had anticipated from Swallow Hotels.
I thought the deal was too good, having stayed in Swallow Hotels in the past & found them to be of a very high standard.
We left, forfeiting our deposit and booked a room at the Marriott.
This hotel is probably a good business hotel but not somewhere to relax and unwind.

Overall a fantastic hotel. we stayed in a recently refurbished room for the weekend and it was spacious, very clean and overall a very lovley room to stay in with a very nice bed.
The reception staff were very friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. the hotel is a short walk to the beach and main town. nice barman and friendly cleaners serviced our room daiy to a high standard.
In the no 28 resturant we had a lovley evening meal and very nice breakfast sat morning, however sunday we were booked in for brunch (10.30 till 2pm breakfast) and this was disapointing as staff didnt make it clear what we could have and breakfast tasted left over and milk was warm.
car park only has 30 spaces so arrive early as they allowed us to park 3 hours before check in but after a saturday evening out we couldnt park the car on our return so used a near by pay and display which was £1 to park for 24 hours. (no security in this car park though)
Overall excellent weekend break hotel. would recommend. with slighty better resturant staff it would have been 100% perfect.

Have just returned from a Christmas break at this hotel and what a fantastic time we have had.
From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
OK the rooms could do with being updated and although they are not modern they were clean, if a little in need of some TLC.
Overall we were very happy.

I stayed at your hotel a few years ago with a large crowd of friends a few times actually and had a fantastic time, we decided to come to Bournemouth with my sister and her husband so thought we will come back. What a shock! What a dump!
I have never been as disappointed as I was at the weekend not only was the voltz closed down, the carpets in our rooms were disgusting very badly stained, I’m glad I took my slippers every where you looked in the hotel was shabby, chair covers wallpaper, paint work carpets, woodwork etc I think I can honestly say if would never stay in this hotel again.

The double room was poorly decorated. In one corner odd wall paper had been used. Wall paper lifting off walls and water stained. The curtains were mucky and badly fitted and the nets were 600 mm longer than the main curtains. The carpet was stained and there was a light missing in the bathroom.
The reception staff were off hand and there was no sign of a porter.
The Dining Room was shabby i.e. paint peeling off the windows, cheap looking crockery which did not match and wafer thin paper serviettes. The dining chairs were badly stained. the service also left a lot to be desired.
The whole experience was disappointing.
Had we not had a sense of humour the weekend would have been completely ruined as advertisements for this hotel were nothing like the reality.
Very poor and value for money it was not.

Fantastic holiday, Great hotel, close to beach and promenade. The Hotel was very friendly and offered us a very pleasant stay, spa, swimming it had its own nightclub, and we learned to Salsa.
We could have everything we wanted 24hrs a day. Bournemouth was lovely, lots of things to do, lots of boat trips, shopping, eating, good nightlife, plenty of interesting places to visit in and around the surrounding areas . We will definitely go back.

Worst Hotel i have ever been in,First room i went in was filthy i complained to reception and was given another room which was not much better, Tiny Bathroom, I couldnt use the shower as the shower head was facing the opposite wall instead of into the bath and could not adjust it and had to dry oneself in the bedroom as no room in bathroom,Very hot in room even though radiator was off,Mattress was hard and lumpy and pillows were not much better, Pipes under radiator were red hot and they were all rusty,When i went down for evening meal veg was not cooked at all and the whole dinner was cold,I used to be a Housekeeper in a Hotel and if i had let rooms out like that i would have got the sack,Only thing good about this hotel were the staff who were very pleasant and helpful
