this was our third visit to russell court. each visit improves.the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.many rooms have now been upgraded and refurbished this year. the food was lovely and if you should have a problem the staff are only too willing to try and accommodate your issues.(we had none) and had a lovley 4 course meal on sat.evening for only £15 extra. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed.Only downside is certain areas of hotel are still a little dowdy but improvements being made all the time. Hotel is well situated, beach shops and entertainment. We look forward to coming again soon

I would not stay there again

Feb 2009, Italian

The hotel looks smart from the outside. But inside its not. Old not very nice furniture and the place had a stale smell to it. I had a single room, the heating did not work and was very cold (it had snowed that day), the room was scruffy but the sheets were clean. I ate that night in the hotel and the food was awful. The hotel is run by Indian people and all the clients were Indians, not a problem for me but it might be for others. I would not stay there again. The staff were nice, although there was a manager on the desk when I checked in who was very blunt and unhelpful. I did not see him there the second day.

A fairly old fashioned by rather typical seaside resort hotel.
A triple room was rather basic and small and the bathroom was a bit dingy. Tea and coffee available and hairdryers etc available from reception.
Breakfast was fast if rather ordinary and bland. The bar was pleasant and spacious and a nice ballroom which was being used for a tea dance while we were there, so entertainment was laid on. The whole hotel was extremely hot!
I wouldn't recommend the place for a week's holiday, but if you need an overnight cheap and cheerful stay then this could be the place. Also had a very steep car park that they had the cheek to make you pay for.

Aug 2007, Mr D Van Der Berg

We booked via the internet and upon arrival was given this little room (double Room). It made us feel claustrophobic and reeked of cleaning detergents.
We lodged a complaint the next morning and was moved to another room which was absolutely brilliant, or was it?.
The next morning at 07.45 we were awaken by maintenance workers refurbishing the room directly above us. For the next three days we had to listen to the noise. It was not worth going back to the room during the day as the noise drove us crazy. We were told by staff to put our complaint in writing which we did and guess what? nothing. Also a £5.00 parking per day, not worth it.
Still looking for the Satelite TV.
The breakfast was good though.

My husband and I stayed in the hotel...

Aug 2006, Mrs A Joyce

My husband and I stayed in the hotel for one night and felt that the room we stayed in was very tatty and in need of major refurbishment. The carpets were grubby and threadbare and the en-suite facilities looked like something out of the 70's we were not impressed with the ancient shower/bath and separate toilet, with the lino floors and green sanitary ware.
We were also hit with a £5 parking charge and in view of the fact that we were charged in excess of £70 for the night thought that was a bit over the top!
No apology was made by the management for the state of the hotel in general and one can only assume that that is their normal trading practice.
If this was the only hotel left in Bournemouth we would rather sleep under the pier!
Despite all of this the breakfast was surprisingly nice.

Well what can I say very poor parking which cost £5 once you have a space don’t move your car or you will lose your place. Rooms are poorly decorated and of a poor standard.
Very good location right near the local amenities and beach.
