The Staffler: Points that need...
7 / 10
Jan 2006, Mr P Plumber

The Staffler:
Points that need attention:
Accommodation could do with some updating.
Points that are spot on:
Location.
Friendly staff
Food.
Cave bar (beer) mmmmmh
At the end of it all, it is only a 2* hotel & I go one a skiing holiday to ski, sometimes I think we all expect a little bit more.
For the star rating it does EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN.

Can’t fault Niederau at all....
2 / 10
Mar 2005, Mrs K Thomas

Can’t fault Niederau at all. It’s a fantastic spot for beginner skiers. The Staffler on the other hand!
Food was edible, but boring after a couple of days. Our room was fine, but the noise from the Cave Bar was too much, even the kids couldn’t sleep. We ended up being moved to the staff quarters up the hill, which was a far better position, but they forgot to clean our room, so by the end of the week it was filthy.
Panorama rep was great, snowball club was great, but accommodation was NOT value for money. Would go back to Niederau, but not to the Staffler!

The Hotel is in a great position just...

Mar 2005, Mrs S Taylor

The Hotel is in a great position just 2 minutes walk from the slopes.
The Staffler was warm and welcoming and the staff were great. The only complaint I have is the food, which was obviously made on a very low budget. In fact a sickness bug was going round the Staffler, which we think, was to do with the food.
The Cave Bar underneath the Staffler was great fun but noisy in the rooms if your sober. Overall, this was a great holiday. We made loads of friends. If you decide to stay here you are guaranteed a great time just be sure to eat out!

This is a very friendly and welcoming...

This is a very friendly and welcoming hotel. The Staff are excellent and food is good. The Hotel is 2 minutes walk from the nearest Ski Lift or Gondola. I was a complete beginner but by the end of the week I was going down black runs!!!
The night life is pretty good with the Hotel having it’s own 'Cave Bar' night club which has it’s own compliment of pleasant staff and punters.
I would especially recommend this hotel to families and also to groups of people alike.

Had a fantastic holiday at the Club...
10 / 10
Mar 2005, Mrs A Jackson

Had a fantastic holiday at the Club Staffler, Niederau. The hotel is the friendliest place to stay with children. All the staff are fantastic and the snowball club is a wonderful.
The meals were lovely and free wine was a bonus.
Although the hotel is old and does need some refurbishment the rooms are very clean and warm as toast. This is a 2 star so if you want 5 star luxuries pay 5 star prices. This is great value for money and we will definitely be going back. Never heard any complaints all week. Our room was above the cave bar and the noise was not a problem.

Lets start with the good points!!...
2 / 10
Jan 2005, Mrs J Huntley

Lets start with the good points!!
Location - only a 2 minute walk to the main gondola and into town centre.
Ok - onto the bad points
1. The food - awful - obviously done on the cheap. Breakfast consists of 2 types of cereal, bread, toast and the odd bit of cheese. Evening meal - as long as you are happy with insipid soup every night (with such culinary flavours as 'curried carrot') and dishes like a pea omelette then maybe you will be ok - we gave up and ate out!
2. Noise from the nightclub. I’m not an old fogey (I am an ex holiday rep so I like to party) but to be able to hear every word of every song played until 4am every single night was a bit much to bear.
3. State of the hotel. It has not been modernised since it was built 50 years ago.....and it shows! There is no lift, things are hanging off the walls and we had icicles hanging from the inside of our bedroom window
The official rating is a 3 star....ha ha ha - more like a minus 3 star!
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone- you can do so very much better for your money.
