Ok - nothing special
from Riflerangeblues
Stayed here for one night on business. It was OK and nothing more. Staff on check in were polite and efficient, the room was a good size, bland but generally clean. Some odds and ends were off putting. The bathroom was a let down, the bath in my room was extremely shallow - not suitable for a relaxing soak. It all seemed a little worn and the decor is cold and pretty institutional (not a place to linger so perhaps the shallow bath wasn't too bad!). The soap dispensers hadn't been cleaned so still had the remains of the previous occupants soapy and make up covered hand prints on them - ugh! I was allocated an interlocking room. I really hate these - they make me feel insecure when travelling alone and I wish receptionists would inform one about them before getting to the room. I could also hear everything in the room next door. To make matters worse, the room was directly opposite the lifts - so I had the noise of the main doors. Finally, although on the 8th floor - you can hear the noise from Broad Street below. Be warned - even on a cold Monday night in October - this is full of noisy people and later on is replaced by cleaning machinery nd bottle/refuse removal. The various restuarants in the hotel seemed a little grim - variations on different mass produced themes - we weren't at all tempted. We also didn't bother with breakfast - it looked the usual uninspiring stuff. If you need a bed and shower for a night and aren't bothered by the "extras" offered by this hotel then I think you could get the same quality for half the price at an Ibis or Travelodge and have the change left over to explore the huge choice of bars and eateries Birmingham has to offer.
Average modern hotel.

Good location for a night out, very central.Polite staff at check in.Room was an average modern hotel room, simple but adequate.Expensive mass produced breakfast, very uninspiring.Overall stay ok but wouldn't rush back.
Great place

This hotel is conveniently located, a walk from Birmingham New Street station and close to the canal, international convention centre, shops, pubs and restaurants. I had heard bad reports of Jury's Inn hotels but this was very nice. Staff were efficient and helpful. I asked for a quiet room and the room I was given was enormous with no street noise whatsoever. Unfortunately the walls are not too thick and I could hear my neighbours alarm go off at 6am (very faintly but I am a light sleeper). Otherwise it was very nice and I would definitely consider staying again. For a three star hotel it was pretty good and the stand-by rate that was quoted to someone who asked was 60GBP which is pretty good!
Poor value for money
from Andecan
Stayed here whilst attending National Housing Conferenece. Very busy and check in slow, although I think some IT problems at the time. Allocated 3 rooms which were already occupied. Embarrasing and unacceptable. No apology at all when we went back down to reception. Reallocated 3 rooms, one of which was good. The other two were OK but smelled bad -poor ventilation - and one was a disabled adapted room with raised toilet etc. No problem with this but would have been nice to have been advised at check in. Also at £134 per night exc breakfast and parking - the hotel facities were quite limited. Customer service was also very patchy, ranging from disinterested to very good. Would certainly consider other options next time at this price.
Outstanding stay at Jurys Inn
from bknowles
From the start to finish my stay at Jurys Inn Birmingham was a superb experience. The service was excellent in all areas of the hotel. Arches restaurant served an excellent breakfast, and delivered an exceptional menu for dinner. The Inn pub was a great place to unwind after a days sightseeing with a nice pint in your hand. The bedrooms were very comfortable and cleanliness was very high. I would like to take this chance to thank all the staff and management for a most enjoyable stay.
Excellent hotel

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Jury's Inn. Excellent hotel and a great postion. Some reports say that it is in a noisy area but we had no problems sleeping whatsoever. Birmingham is a great city and the Jurys is a great hotel. Would defo recommend to anyone and would stay again. Well done
Very pleasant stay

Stayed at Jurys for a conference. The staff were extremely helpful and my room was airy with everything you could wish for, on an overnight stay. All rooms were extremely clean, especially my en-suite bathroom. The food was fine, enough choice to keep most people happy with a plethora of coffee machines. Conference room was a bit cramped, but that could have been the fault of the conference organisers as opposed to the hotel. Would very happily stay there again for business purposes.
Excellent value Hotel

Stayed over two nights (weekend) and were delighted with the rate. The hotel is a large tower block on Broad Street in Birmingham, bang in the middle of the cities entertainment area. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. The rooms were light and roomy, we paid for a double but ended up in a triple room which may sound a bonus but wasn't due to the party of young girls staying in the room next to us. The walls apear to be quite thin but to be fair we never felt the need to complain. Security at the hotel is good with security on the hotel front door and patrols on the hotel floors. The hotel had a late barwith large seated area's complete with sofa's. Overall I would rate the hotel highly but Birmingham at weekends is not for the faint hearted!!
Generally good hotel

Recently myself and 8 other girls booked 3 triple rooms at this hotel. Considering the price the hotel is very impressive with a large marble entrance and sofa area and a clean feel to it. The rooms are very nice too with plenty of room and 2 large double beds. The rooms are kept clean. The hotel is well placed right on broad street and you virtually come out of the front entrance and are right on the lovely bars etc of the canals. The noise however does not reach your room so you can still get a good nights sleep. The onlt problem we encountered was with a mix up about our rooms whereby a member of staff came into our room early morning and accused us of not being booked into the correct room. We complained about this and did get some money back and a free meal but the attitude of some of the staff was a little rude and got our backs up straight away. Overall though I would reccomend this hotel for its good value for money and location. Dont get on the wrong side of the staff though!! he he.
Minor gripe - overall good
from kentyankee
Stayed here as attending a conference at the ICC. Hotel excellently located in the centre of Brum - lots of restaurants and bars in the local area. Check in took a while due to the entire conference attendees attempting to check in at the same time - if you were not aware that this is a Conference friendly facility be warned. Room on the 11th Floor - Plus points - Clean large, two double beds, clean large bathroom, good size desk and double-glazed windows to keep out any noise Down-side - No air con (hot stuffy night) My colleague had a more modern room & could control temp - I couldn't. Sheets not duvets and finally that shower screen is just too small Breakfast was good - didn't eat in the hotel at night so cannot comment on evening meals. Would suggest that with the number of restaurants & bars in the immediate area that visitors are spoiled for choice Would stay here again

We stayed at Jury’s Inn Birmingham last weekend for my son’s 6th birthday as we had planned to take him to Cadbury World. In my opinion this hotel is not suitable for children, families or, in fact, anyone over the age of 30 as it is full of stag and hen parties. They... more
