Plessas Palace Hotel

The Plessas is a family run hotel set back from the main road into the quiet resort of Alykanas. It has a reception until late (including money exchange), a small indoor bar and in full season a poolside bar, as well as a small supermarket in on the main road. The rooms are typically Greek in that they are basic but clean.
All rooms overlook the Pool / Garden area with views to the lovely church of St Nicholas in the distance. For those feeling energetic, the walk cross-country is around an hour and half and well worth it for the views across Alykanas and Alykes bay to Kefalonia. Just ask the family for directions and take plenty of Water.
The pool is misleading as it has been given a slate effect and not lined with the usual blue tiles - hence does not have the normal appearance of Mediterranean pool but the water is clear if a little cool early in the season and the pool is well maintained.
Alykanas is growing rapidly as a resort but has not yet lost the hospitality of the small Greek village. It has many tavernas and a growing number of bars. However noise levels late at night are now being monitored.
Overall a very enjoyable hotel and resort.
