Fantastic holiday
from cherryrhodes
We have just arrived back today from our 1 week stay at Club Cherry and I wanted to write my review ASAP. Having read previous reviews we were a bit worried about things such as loud music and unclean rooms, however we had absolutely no need to worry. We were a party of 4 (two couples) and had an apartment each both of which were clean and spacious with the equipment you would expect in a SC apartment. (even a sharp knife to cut up huge watermelon!! Take your own bottle opener though!!) Rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed. The staff were lovely especially Joseph. They were all good fun and we really enjoyed the Turkish night, The breakdancers were amazing although we did find it a bit annoying when we were expected to tip ever act we saw. Be careful if you have a watch on or mobile phone in your pocket as once the acts have finished you may end up being thrown in the pool as my husband found out! The barbour is excellent, my husband and his friend enjoyed a proper turkish shave and massage for 10 lire. As for the constant loud techno/rap music we did not find this a problem. The music was on throughout the day but staff were very considerate and it was only turned on at 11am and turned down again at about 11pm. We often had siestas in the afternoon, our apartment was right next to the bar area, and the music did not disturb us. If you consider Celine Dion, The Righteous Brothers, Westlife, U2, the Bodyguard Soundtrack and other current pop music to be rap/techno then maybe this isn't the place for you!!!!!! We however enjoyed the music and are rushing out tomorrow to buy the Turkish Number 1!! Sami definitley enjoyed a sing and a dance on the tables! The resort of Turgutreis was beautiful, we likened it to a mini St Tropez in the harbour area. The locals are very friendly and the Villa restaurant on the beach front was extremely good value for money. (included free yummy puddings so def worth a visit if you can fit them in after the huge main meal servings!) The Villa also offer free sunloungers on the beach during the day where you can buy food and drink if you want but they don't expect it. Evenings were unexpectedly cool which is a welcome relief after the 40 + degree days!! Some evenings my friend and I actually wished we had brought long sleeved tops. The beach is advertised as sandy but is more shingle than sand, but very clean, It may be worth taking shoes that can be worn in the water. All in all a great holiday with plenty to do and we would love to return one day. Thanks to all the staff for making us feel so welcome xxx
All in all not bad for a 2*

We have just got back from staying at Club Cherry and from reading the other reviews were very worried. We arrived at about 6am and we were a party of 8 with three boys, also my dad was in a wheelchair so you can imagine how loud we were. The staff were very accommodating and quickly sorted our rooms and even helped take our bags to the rooms. The rooms were very basic and to be honest when I first saw the rooms I was shocked at how basic they were. The good points about Club Cherry were all our rooms were on the ground floor and only about 15 metres from the pool. The pool area was lovely and kept clean and tidy throughout the day, the staff were generally very helpful and small things like asking for a parasol was never a problem. The music around the pool area was really not that bad or loud, however after two weeks of hearing the same music did get a little boring. All rooms have air conditioning at a cost of about 15 pounds a week however we did not get this as at night it was quite cool. Near the pool area it had a table tennis table and a pool table and this was a godsend to us. Our boys loved this and spent a good part of the day playing on this as well as the pool. It cost 5 lira an hour for pool but the table tennis was free. My boys loved the pool area and wanted to spend everyday there and the staff were brilliant with them. The rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels on our bed in various designs and on our last day the cleaner had left towels in a shape of an anchor with rose petals over which was so nice. We were told off one guest that they had tipped the cleaner at the beginning of the holiday and got this everyday! The bad points of club cherry was the size of the room, we had two boys in our room and for some bizarre reason were given the smallest room, even when I questioned this they stated the rooms were the same size, this was not the case as my sister had a much larger living and patio space. The rooms were very basic, the kitchen consisted of a two ring hotplate, kettle, fridge and some plates and cutlery. I would definitely recommend you take a cheap toaster, wish I had. Our fridge was not good; it had no bottle holder and was badly stained. Also when we first arrived it had a minibar in it, which we advised we did not want and got removed straightaway. When you order any food and drink you have to put it on your room number, they will not let you pay straight away. I advise to ask them to put the price of each transaction on your receipt to keep track of what you are spending. The music was very loud at night and some evenings this went on until about 1 – 2am which was not ideal, however this was not every night. We stayed for a Turkish night on the Wed which was not good; the food was mostly salads with some chicken and meatballs. My kids only ate the chicken, we were promised chips which we never received and all in all were not good value for money. The entertainment was a belly dancer and traditional Turkish dancers which were ok; however the break dancers never arrived. The location of this hotel was very good and only a ten minute walk to the main resort, it was also very flat so ideal for wheelchair users. Food was very good value and we spent some nights at the Cann Restaurant which was excellent and definitely worth a visit or two. Would also recommend the Ivy and Cool Breeze, they even took you back to the hotel if you asked! We went to the water park but were not impressed and have been to better, you could not even take drinks in! We did a boat trip which was ok, but would go on the North trip, get to see more. I would also definitely recommend the market which is every Saturday, I loved to use my bartering skills and some of the sayings the Turkish have is hilarious! All in all not a bad holiday and loved the resort of Turgurties, very friendly.
Could have been excellent!

Basic ,but nice enough rooms.Staff were very quick to remove smelly fridge and replace with unsmelly one.The pool is lovely and the staff are polite and kind ,but the music from the bar was intolerable. We like to get back from the beach etc in the early afternoon/evening and then chill before leaving for evening meal about 8ish.This is impossible when subjected to mix of Rap and Techno at warp factor 9!!!!!!!!!!! Bar staff please note....Nobody listens to Techno unless in a Gym,or in Ibetha and out of your tree, and mixing it with Rap is an abomination!!!!!!!!!!!!! That being said, when asked to reduce volume the bar staff did so,but then very shortly afterwards it crept back up again, leaving complainers feeling like miserable old farts if they complained again.Several of the individuals lying around the pool wore earplugs.I'm sure they won't be going back. A beatiful part of a beautiful country-shame about the noise.
great reception staff

We had problems when we first arrived, room they gave us was awful stuck in a corner very dark ! We had booked 8 months before so expected a decent room! We refused the room and after a lot of messing about we were given a really nice room on first floor with view over the pool. Even though when we arrived they told us no other rooms were available?!!. The pool area is very nice, pool staff 'not all' were very helpful. The only thing that spoilt the pool area was the very loud music, which the bar staff insisted on playing day after day, even when people had complained. They did it more so if anyone complained! not very relaxing. The room was very nice seemed very new, but be warned not all rooms are the same! very good location, rooms were cleaned every day, and the cleaning staff did a fantastic job, beds were also changed on a regular basis which is rare in self catering accomodation! I loved Turgutries and i liked Club Cherry but would not book these appt again because of noisy music around the pool. Brena
Clean and friendly apartments

Stayed here for a week in October. The apartments are very clean and cleaned beautifully by very inobtrusive staff. The reception staff are friendly and helpful especially if you take the time to chat. Wonderfully situated for the town, sea, marina and dolmus station. Everything within about 5 mins stroll. Any small problems in the apartment (e.g. faulty shower head) were fixed immediately. Pool of a good size (particularly for Turkey). Pool bar open only for drinks at this time of the year. On site massage, henna tattoo. Very good value for money for such a great location
Good location
from FloydBexhill
We stayed at Club Cherry for one week and found it a mixed experience. On the plus side, it is in a very good location, close to the town, marina and the bus station. Also they have a boat which offers good value trips around the coast, and the swimming pool is very good. However, rooms are not well provisioned for self catering. The cleaning is good when it happens, but they missed our rooms twice. Sunbeds round the swimming pool are full of towels by 10.30am, so its difficult to get a space, though it was high season. The charge card system needs watching - we had to query our bill on checkout as we had been overcharged.

Club Cherry should be excellent, but it isn't, it's pretty poor. It's a quadrangle of apartments centred on a very nice pool area, with a bar/catering facility alongside the pool. Based on observation, the pool is well maintained and clean, the bar and food... well, we can't tell you anything about that because, each day, we headed away from the facility to escape the persistent loud techno music, which was pumped out, seemingly for the enjoyment of the staff. The result was that, other than paying for aircon and a safe, we spent no money at Club Cherry, prefering to eat and drink at the much-more-convivial bars and restaurants in Turgutreis. The apartments are described as basic - nothing wrong with that - but "basic" in this case also means poorly maintained, with fridges that rock around on three feet, toilets that leak when flushed, showers whose heads are so loose they droop and spray the wall instead of you, door locks that require you to bodily lift the door in order to turn the key, lights outside the apartment that don't work so you can't see the keyhole, & so on. Having read of the experiences of others, we didn't use the Club Cherry chargecard at all, and found that there was much uncertainty about the exact level of the supplementary charges for the aircon and security safe - this was calculated in UK pounds (or Euro in the case of a Dutch visitor) and paid in Turkish Lira. The exchange rate - and indeed the outcome of the calculation of the charges - appeared to depend on which staff member was handling the transaction. Turgutreis is an exclellent resort, and we would be happy to return there, but we will never again stay at Club Cherry.
great time at club cherry
from r1ck
we had a great time at club cherry. the apartment is basic, but adequate. fantastic pool 5 minutes walk from bazaar for bars, shops restaurants. really friendly people in turkey we have already booked to go again in july we had heard of dodgy goings on, with the "hotel credit card" they give you, for drinks and food at their bar and eaterys; so we didnt use it at all ! (and wont, when we go in july) but the food in cafes etc, is so cheap and good quality in the town, so its not a problem we thoroughly recommend turgutreis, its great place to stay the staff were very friendly and helpful beware the rep, that meets you at the airport (my travel) as she rips you off ! she trys to sell you cash converters (free in the banks) for £1 and phone cards for £10, which only cost about £4, in the local shops ! we had a day trip to kos (greece) for about £17 each, which was really nice, but dont make the mistake, i did, make sure you change your lira in turkey, because the banks in kos will rip you off !
Turgutreis dream, Club Cherry Apartments nightmare
from mookboy
Turgutreis is a beautiful resort with a good selection of restaurants and bars and friendly people. Someday we will return. But not to The Club Cherry Apartments. First impressions on arrival; there was still food in the fridge from the previous occupants, dirty shower , basically an uncleaned room that was short on utensils and an airconditioning unit that had a mind of it's own. After a couple of days speaking to fellow holiday makers we discovered they to had similar problems. Club Cherry have a system whereby you order say food or drinks and they give you a receipt and at the end of the day/week you pay the total. Simple. Well not quite. A fair amount of people paid for more than they had actually had. All had argued this point with the manager who then threatened all with the 'I'll call the police then' line. Nice. The waiters had an unusual policy of been allowed to push all in the pool and this often resulted in themselves been pushed in. This one day a waiter pushed a young lad in and he himself was pushed in. Accidently he hit his head and had to have stitches. Later that day the 4 of the Club Cherry staff (mafia) demanded compensation, £100 hospital bill, a weeks wages and listen to this £100 for a mobile phone that was said to be in his back pocket. Great scam. Visit Turgutreis but do not stay at Club Cherry.
