We arrived on the last day of free aircon, it was going to cost 7euros per day,the fridge was going to cost 5 euros per day,the safe was 15 euros per week, and the sunbeds, round the pool, if you didn't get up by 7.30 am were 6 euros per day for 2 to sit on the hotels own grass,or on the beach. For 2 weeks holiday it could cost an extra 282 euros!!!! Quite a lot of money, these charges were a disappointment to us.Apart from that the hotel was good, the staff very friendly, especially the day and night staff in the pool bar, we had a great laugh with them all, and also met some nice people who were also a bit miffed about the extra costs. The resort is great, loads of lovely restaurants serving good food to cater for all tastes.
The location of Phoenix Beach is fantastic, and the sea was as warm as a bath!!
Our weather was hot hot hot.Our rating of 7 is because of the charges, and would definately return to Tsilvi. The charges should be stated in the brochure, not just payable locally!

Having never visited Zante before we were both very excited on arrival at the Phoenix. Our room over looked the pool and looked out at the sea. Our appartment was great and the staff were always on hand if you needed anything.
One thing we werea little disappointed with was the size of the pool - but it really didn't make a difference to our holiday! The beach was lovely too - a little pebbly in places though!
The staff who were about at the pool/bar each day were great and did a super job at making you feel welcome.
The resort itself was great and within such a short walking distance from the hotel!
There were so many fantastic places to choose to eat, to name a few: The Contessina, Romeo and Juliet, Trenta Nova, majestic (Have the bruschetta!!!) but definately our favourite was the Mexican/Greek resaturant - Pieros's. Always busy and always super food!
Make sure you pop into Magdelena's cocktail bar too!!! Jim and Andreas do a super job and we had a great time in there!
We went on some good trips too - a tour by boat of the island, the shipwreck and St Dennis celebrations in Zante town
On the whole we really enjoyed our holiday and can't wait to go back!!

We've just got back from our holiday...

Aug 2008, Mrs C Phelps

We've just got back from our holiday at the Phoenix Beach Hotel, and had a fabulous time. The hotel was clean with good facilities, and the staff were very friendly. Ideally situated next to the beach.
Great for families - we stayed in one of their 2 bedded family apartments, which was perfect for all of us. Would recommend paying for a fridge in the room as you'll need plenty of cold drinks as the weather is very hot in July/August.
Lots of watersports on the beach to choose from - we hired the pedalo with a slide, had a go on the banana boat, did paragliding and had a go on a jet ski.
We also got married on the island - would recommend it!

This was my third time to Zante but my first time to Tsilivi, gorgeous island with lots to do, this holiday was for me and my mum to relax and enjoy the beach! and cocktails, the hotel was amazing, very clean and friendly with a beautiful location right on the beach, everything you need within walking distance and lovely little gift shops to explore, the greek food cannot be faulted especially the lamb kleftiko. Overall this holiday was just what we wanted and more, we will be returning for sure.

Been to this resort many times, never at this hotel - really really enjoyed it, right on the beach, friendly staff, pool area was spectacular.
The only downside was that there weren’t many sunbeds by the pool!
We have already booked up for next year!

Hi all just returned from the...

Oct 2007, Mrs L BLAIR-CONWAY

Hi all just returned from the beautiful Phoenix Beach Hotel. Weather first 3 days was cloudy; the next 3 were 80 degrees. We were there for 1 week but really 6 days as we had to be at the airport 4 hours before our flight, you will have to wait outside for 2 hours and then go into the worst airport I have been in, this is why I give Zante a 9 and not a 10.
Anyway the hotel is lovely with nice people, bedroom spotless cleaners great, but the shower is hand held which we did not like but this is a Greek custom. You have to pay for some of the sunbeds on the grass and also your fridge and safe deposit box, breakfast is basic, we liked Popeye’s great coffee and fresh orange juice.
All in all it’s a lovely place. Have a good time.

I stayed at this Hotel with my husband early September. We found the hotel very clean and well run. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful as were all the other staff.
There was a good choice for the buffet breakfast including scrambled egg with bacon and small frankfurters plus the usual continental variety.
The bar and snack area was excellent with good food and very pleasant ambience where we had a great Greek Night. Plenty of restaurants to choose from for evening meal, we particularly liked Trenta Nove a lovely traditional Greek Taverna set in a very nice garden.
The only complaint we would make is the charge for sunbeds on the grass area as there are very few free sunbeds around the pool.
We had a very pleasant 2 week stay and could recommend this hotel.

Jude and Alan Bristol.

This was a fantastic hotel, I stayed there last year for two weeks. It is very clean, and the food served in the bar is great because the portions are huge! The location is very good, its right in the centre of Tsilivi with all the shops, bars and restaurants close by.
They also have a very exciting Greek night which is fun, but be prepared to get up and dance with them! The only problem that I have found with the hotel is that there are not enough sun beds to go around the pool so you have to go on the grass or beach which you have to pay for which I don't think is fair.
Other than that its a great place to stay and if your worried don't be. Enjoy.

This was our first visit to Zakynthos...
8 / 10
Oct 2004,

This was our first visit to Zakynthos and our first time back to Greece in over 20 years. Our initial impression when getting off the plane and into the Airport was not favourable as the overall appearance was shabby and the general cleanliness especially in the toilets was very poor. The Hotel however was a different matter.
We were very fortunate to be given a room directly overlooking the sea and given that the hotel is about 50 yards from the beach gave us a wonderful view from the spacious balcony. The rooms are equipped with the basics you would expect including a television and hair dryer. TV in the rooms have Sky news, CNN and some channels show movies in English with Greek subtitles.
Safety Deposit Box and Fridge are available at an extra cost. Total for both for one week amounted to 50 EURO. Air conditioning is free in peak season but extra from September however October evenings do get quite chilly so no need for air con. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels seemed to be replaced every other day.
The pool was very clean but freezing cold which is why most people went for a dip in the sea as it was warmer. The hotel beach bar is very close and food served is good. All Staff are very efficient, very helpful and friendly. The resort itself is nice but I would not say spectacular. There is an abundance of restaurants and all are OK but we found one called Benikos, which was excellent. The food served here was not run of the mill chips, steaks etc. Highly recommend the Chefs meatballs and any of the meat dishes, which are extremely tender. Delicious!
According to the locals we were very lucky with the weather as the rainy season starts in October however we had seven very hot days. Overall a very nice place to relax and unwind.
