Irina Beach Apartments Reviews

Submitted By: Mrs S HIGHSTEDIrena Beach Hotel in my opinion is a good base for exploring this beautiful Island. If you are looking for a lively holiday with entertainment, this Hotel is not for you. But if you are looking for a relaxed holiday with beautiful surroundings, lovely people with that family run feel, then this is the place.
I will certainly be going back.

Submitted By: Mrs P KentUnless you wish to cook and eat all you meals in your apartment, or eat their restaurant food (which is basic snack food) it means car hire, a taxi, or hourly bus into the small town which has an excellent beach and a better quality of restaurants.
Excellent apartment but no Radio or TV as advertised and a Building under construction right next door (which was not notified to us).
These apartments are probably okay for families with small children who do not want to travel far but I did not find the staff particularly friendly or helpful and I found the restrictive rules and regulations offensive.

Submitted By: Miss M StanleyWe researched the resort quite thoroughly before booking and what sold it for us was the fact that the hotel's website stated that all rooms had a sea view. Therefore we were quite shocked when shown to our ground floor apartment that our balcony was actually in the car park! When we told the manager Maria that we were expecting a sea view room she said speak to your rep and walked away. The rep informed us in the morning that there were no sea view rooms available and it wasn't until we showed Maria her own website that she backtracked and took us straight to a vacant room overlying the sea.
Although we then had a lovely room the staff made our stay quite uncomfortable, because of our complaining I am not sure, but they were very unfriendly and even when we ordered food at the bar we were met with exasperated sighs.
We started frequenting a bar at another hotel, the Atki Dimis, where the staff were so friendly and made us feel like one of their guests which just showed the staff at Irina Beach up even more.
I must say the accommodation was lovely, the pool area and being situated right on the beach was perfect however the staff really let the resort down and we will definitely not be returning.

" Fantastic location, couldn’t fault... "
Submitted By: Mrs A WishartLacked atmosphere at night and felt could have done more to attract people into bar at night. Too far to walk for kids, no pavements into Tingaki. Have to rely on taxis and very busy bus (great fun after a few cocktails). Last bus at 11pm so you are quite tied. Brochure should state how far from town as 2 tired children did the walk one night, never again. Very relaxing, just what we needed.

Submitted By: Mrs A BrowneHaving the pool and beach made it fab and all you need to make it a great holiday within walking distance. Met a lot of nice people here and the children all got along really well. Felt very safe in the evening when the children wanted to play.
Would really recommend this accommodation for families. You will want to go back again and a lot of the families here do.

Submitted By: Mr J DavisonIdeal for people looking for a relaxing holiday, with or without children, the pool is kept clean and fresh and the beach is just down from the pool, (approx 15 - 20 feet)
The Irina is 2000m away from the centre of Tingaki, about a 20 minute stroll, buses come along every hour Kos-Tingaki 1.4 euros and taxis charge 6 euros from Irina to Tingaki.
" Thomas (15), Sophie (14), and Mum and... "
Submitted By: Mr P C BoardAs ever the kids quickly made friends on Kos and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They really enjoyed the water sports at Paradise Beach and the paragliding. Sophie’s legs were kicking nineteen to the dozen as they repeatedly dunked our daring duo into the sea. Paradise Beach also known as Bubble Beach due to volcanic bubbles coming up in the water at various times during the day. But Sophie’s favourite day was a shopping trip (by boat) to Bodrum, Turkey where she spent all her loot in one fell swoop on fake designer clothes (D & G handbag, top and jeans to match). Dad literally got his ears burnt in a Bodrum barber’s (flaming his non-existent ear hair off after a haircut) after Sophie got her hair braided.
Dad’s favourite was the thermal springs a few miles from Kos town. Mother nature releasing her volcanic waters from her rocky fissure into the sea, so for the lizard-like tourists, you could have it very hot (lying or sitting close to source, as Thomas did for a few seconds), or gradually get acclimatized, mixing the Med’s colder sea with it. All human life was there, young and old, firm and infirm, a bubbling Babel of languages, like some human protoplasmic soup, returning to whence we had emerged and evolved. Sophie was a little disturbed on leaving since the sulphur in the spring had turned her ‘silver’ jewellery black.
Having tasted a bit of a nature, we also went to the island of Knickers-Off, sorry Nissyros famed for its volcano, and we intrepidly climbed down into the stinky and stifling crater to witness bubbling and hissing mud and sulphur deposits and come back with chemicals on our shoes. The stench was awful.
Apartments were great and staff very friendly. We were worried about the heat in August but needn’t have done: a nice breeze most of the time and the swimming pool next to the sea. Foolishly we booked too many trips with the tour operator when better value boat trips can be got at Kos Town or Tingaki with four for three offers etc, secluded beach barbecues and plenty of plonk thrown in. The Ancient Ruins in Kos Town are a must and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Best eating experience of the fortnight (apart from the beach barbeque) was up in the mountain village of Zia.

The staff (a family of four people) are very nice and cannot do enough for you. The apartments are very clean, the pool area and the snack bar the same. The bar in the hotel is extremely friendly with the owners joining in the fun in the latter part of the evenings.

All in all we thoroughly recommend this hotel and this resort.

Tingaki center itself is a 30 minute walk along a coastal road or a regular bus takes you in for 1.40euros where you will find an array of Shops, Bars and Tavernas, and a beautiful Blue flag beach all of which are family friendly, one thing i will say is if your planning on trips dont book through your Tour operator, go and see Louise at Theokritas Travel on the main street, they do the same trips for a fraction of what the tour operators charge, we visited the Volcanic Island of Nissoros - a truly amazing experience actually going down into the crater to the steam vents.
All in all this was an amazing holiday and would definately recommend Irina Beach for its cleanliness, peace and tranquility and is ideally suited to families with both young and older children.
Advice: Family friendly
Activities: Spyros Restaurant in Tingaki for authentic Greek cuisine and the Volcano on Nissoros island
Good for: Beach
