We travelled to bulgaria as a party of 7 including adults, teenagers and a toddler,it was our first time to visit bulgaria and some of our party liked it better than others. If you want to party from morning until night then you will love this place, the bars stay open until the last person leaves! It was extremely cheap for food and drinks and had all the usual places for buying the kind of goods you normally find on your holidays. The hotel itself had a 4 star wing and a three star wing, we had rooms in both of the wings and to be honest there was not a lot of difference between them,I would rate them more like 3 star and two star, the hotel was very clean, pool was always freezing but the worst thing was the food,it was always lukewarm and seemed to be made up of leftovers from the previous meals. The resort of sunny beach is still developing so if you want all the mod cons surrounding you it is maybe not the place for you.

This was my 3rd year going to Sunny Beach Bulgaria and my first time in hotel Sun Palace with 4 adults and 2 children ages 4 and 11 year old, the food wasn't excellent but i wasn't expecting it to be, the hotel was clean and my room was cleaned everyday and i received new towels every day, the entertainment was fine but i think it was better during the day with the pool games. The staff at the hotel we're fine and helpfull. When we arrived we each received a gift bag containing water and fruit, i would recomend it for families. i am going back this summer to hotel Sun Palce again becaus eit was very central and right in the middle of the resort 2 year ago we stayed in the victoria palace hotel and the food was very similar to sun palace. If it's you're first time going to Bulgaria it's completley different from Spain and the Baleric's ect. but a beutiful place and beutiful friendly people thats why i go back every year. thnakyou for reading. On arrival we were told that we had to share a room with our friends as there had been a double booking. Next day were moved to three star accommodation and had to stay there for a week despite having paid for 4 star superior.
The room we were given for our second week was better but was not clean the same dust was on the furniture from the day we entered until the day we left. Bathroom given a very basic clean.
The meals provided were totally inedible same choices every day always cold crockery all chipped cutlery very dirty always a shortage of both as well. We spoke to the chef who informed us that they did not cater for British only for Germans, Russians, and Scandinavians.
Entertainment was nonexistent and most of the staff were very unhelpful and dour.
Would not recommend 1 star never mind 4. Has left a very bad impression on us on our first and probably last visit to Bulgaria.

First holiday to Bulgaria with the family, staying at the Sun Palace. We booked for 4* accommodation but ended up in 3*, first day lift broke down with me inside it; it worked some of the time. As my partner is a full leg amputee and needs a wheel chair this was a bit inconvenient.
The staff are very rude and surly. The food was awful. There are not enough tables and chairs in the dinning room for the amount of guest at the hotel the same can be said for the bar area. You get chips with everything (chipped plates, cups etc) and ice-cream is eaten off a side plate. The food was always cold, if you complained they pointed to the microwave.
The entertainment was pathetic. The swimming pools so cold you risked having a heart attack if you dared to get in, and that was the outside pool, the indoor pool was even colder. The rooms were ok and clean, but the bathroom floor flooded when you had a shower, and had a very unpleasant odour. Avoid this hotel.

Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone!
Me and a friend were in the 4 * hotel (No way is this hotel a 4 *). The room was grubby, bathroom dirty, shower held up by a piece of string!
Food was rubbish, breakfast was the same all week. Cereals were stale, eggs were stone cold, toasters were really slow, no specialist chefs. Lunch was pizza, chips, salad and stew all week. Dinner was much the same and cold.
Staff there never friendly, never smiled, Balkan rep was the same and didn’t want to know when I complained.
No twin beds....
Cleaners never hoovered room out all week, never took rubbish (we had to put rubbish in carrier bags and take out ourselves). Got clean towels but only because I wet them and put them in shower so they had no choice. Only changed sheets once in a week stay.
Carpets, hallways were all dirty.....
No Entertainment for kids or adults, which I find was strange in an all inclusive hotel of 4 stars. Noise till 2/3 am with loud music! This was our entertainment for the week- No Sleep!
Had to spend all money I had taken for enjoyment on food. Ate in the hotel on the 1st and 2nd day and couldn’t any more.
Beds all itchy and had to sleep on floor most of the holiday, as I felt there wasn’t just me and my friend in our bed - Bed bugs were close by.....
Got home and two weeks later I was covered in bites and went to doctor as had bed bites, had to boil all my clothes and had to have pest control clean the house and get rid of them.
Please don’t go to this hotel! It’s put me off going on holiday again!

My husband myself and 12 yr and 15 yr old daughters arrived late afternoon to thunderstorms! The hotel room was lovely overlooking the strip but we had a power cut and decided to sleep after a long journey.
We woke to floods of rain water in our lounge and bedroom patio doors. The food was the same every day cold smelly and non edible, goulash, stew and dried looking lumps of so called veal, I promise you this is no exaggeration.
The coffee and tea stone cold from make shift flasks.
I complained to our rep and said you must have British people complaining about this all the time she said she does but this is Bulgaria food, this must explain why most woman are a size zero. She also said the tea and coffee was regular tested and it was 63 degree's, since when has that been a boiling temp, all she could say is I know about this complaint and I’m sorry.
The pool area was unlit at night and people sat in the dark the landscaping is nothing on earth, grass around the beds as high as the beds and on the walk ways was just hard dirt where the grass had worn away, so if you happen to brave the pool the dirt stuck to your wet feet then stuck to tour bed and towel.
The patio was bits and bobs and looked like it had been pointed by a 6 yr old, the pool was freezing with cracked tiles which my daughter cut her feet.
Day 4 we were asked to move room because they overbooked and put us in someone’s private apartment, this was the final straw our new room stunk of urine the carpets in the bedroom were indescribable with stains, one consolation we had a fridge.
There was no entertainment, only kids karaoke, this is suppose to be a 4* hotel it should be upgraded its the pits, the staff are arrogant and rude, the hotel from hell!!
Good job the restaurants are cheap and ok, the main beach and strip are excellent with loads of bars and shops, one snag they don’t leave you alone trying to get you in their bars, nessabars well worth a visit but don’t use a cab they try to rip you off.
There is not one positive about this hotel but the resort is great.

What can I tell you about Sun Palace that has not been written? The rooms are clean and presentable as are the common areas. Plenty of sun beds around the pool, so you didn't need to put your towel out at "silly o'clock", unless you wanted a specific area. Staff are mostly friendly, but there were exceptions, as you would get anywhere. The entertainment team were good, especially with the kids, but did remind me of a young child - eager to please and enthusiastic, but not always sure if what they were doing was the right thing! A far as the catering goes, very poor. The catering manager obviously has no concept of an English breakfast - no bacon or fried eggs available for the whole 2 weeks we were there. Evening meals consisted of at least 4 different types of stew, various cooked and stuffed meats, and something that may once have swam in the Black Sea. It was generally quite tasty, and there was plenty of it, but you were not always sure what "it" was. Anyway, after a week of the same thing, my body rebelled, and we ventured out to some of the restaurants and fast food joints for our meals, as did many other guests - I never believed it was possible to weep tears of joy over a Big Mac and chips! The other issue that stuck out was a basic lack of crockery, teacups and beer glasses on occasions. More often than not, you would find yourself queuing for crockery and cutlery than for the food itself. What crockery was available was, without exception, chipped and cracked. As an all-inclusive package, you would only get full value if you can drink your own body weight in lager every 2 hours. Anyway, these are my top 5 tips for a holiday at Sun Palace - 1. Bring your own tea mug / pint pot - guard them as though your very existence depended upon it. 2. Don’t leave your TV tuned on to TV1000 (English films) and fall asleep if you have kids with you - in the small hours it switches over to a hardcore porn channel. (This obviously applies to any hotel). 3. Bring your own brand of coffee with you - the stuff in the hotel is dire! 4. The milk is so watered down it are almost transparent. Use the powdered coffee creamer for your tea / coffee. Avoid using it for cereal altogether. 5. Eat out a lot! Recommendations are Mamacitas for English breakfast - try the big boy special. The Castle for some of the best pizzas in Sunny Beach and Brothers Pub for superb steaks and treats for the kids.

Me and a large group of friends (21) are just back from staying in the 4 *Sun palace hotel in sunny beach.
The rooms were clean and very spacious to say the least this was the best aspect of the hotel. The staff were very unfriendly and seemed reluctant at times to serve alcohol considering we had paid for an all inclusive holiday.
My teenage son said late at night staff were also drinking whilst still in the hotel, maybe they were putting aside the alcohol for themselves!
Also it was difficult to get use of facilities such as the table tennis as staff often played on it and also hid the ping pong balls! This hotel in my opinion is not equipped to be all inclusive and is definitely behind the times compared to other European countries.
Overall me and my friends enjoyed Bulgaria but would definitely not go back to this hotel as the staff really need to learn to smile and treat their guests better.

Hello, I have just returned from this hotel and if you want to have a good time in Sunny Beach stay as far from this so called hotel. The staff are ignorant apart from Martin and the cleaners on floor 3.
The food is rubbish, the pool is rubbish, the beer is rubbish, full of young germans breaking glasses around the pool area, being sick in the pool after a night at the bars. If you want to have a rubbish holiday in Sunny Beach book here! As well, if you want to go on a diet then book this hotel. 3/4 star hotel? Not in a million years. One bar for the all inclusive guests (not the pool bar).

Just spent 2 weeks here and i know you will have read more bad reviews than good but i enjoyed my stay here.
This is the Hotels first year all inclusive and they have made a few mistakes but some some guests had a word with the manager and he did make changes.
The hotel rooms in the 4 star side are large and clean no complaints . The drinks are just normal all inclusive drinks weak beer but drinkable just like Spain, spirits local but have a kick, only one complaint about drinks no diet juice.
Now the food, it is very repetitive and if you are a fussy eater which i am not you will be eating out a lot they have your usual all inclusive foods chicken, pork, veal etc but turn them into stews which look a bit dodgy but when you actually fish the food out of the watery stew it is okay sometimes quite nice. A lot of guests were complaining about the food in my stay but they never gave it a chance they just looked and said i am not eating that. Plenty salads, chips, rice, ice cream so please try first before complaining.
There is no entertainment for adults really but there is for kids the entertainment team try to keep the kids happy they are behind Spain in that department but bars all around area have plenty of entertainment .
The pool is big enough and sun beds are no problem i never had a problem getting one even at 11 am. Sunny Beach is a great place to go to very cheap and very sunny in July i would recomend Khans Tent to visit £24 a head but well worth it the 2 water parks are okay to I think you will either love Sunny Beach or hate it and the Hotel is okay there is better but a lot worse to i hope i have been helpful.

I went to Sun Palace with my Boyfriend, we didn't expect anything amazing as it is only 3*. However, i was hoping for a little more than what we got. We were all inclusive but only ate lunch there once. The rest of the time we ate out in the surrounding restaurants (which were nice). The food looked, smelt and tasted awful. The waiters were rude and of no help at all. Our room was average but was disappointed to see that the cleaners didn't really do much cleaning. General decor of the hotel was dirty too. In the brochure, it states that there are a number of bars open throughout the hotel but there is only 1 that actually opened. The man that worked on the bar though, i must say, was nice. The pool was freezing and there was hardly no sun in the pool area. I strongly advise not to stay at the sun Palace. Bulgaria is a lovely place to visit but this hotel let it down!!
