My partner and I stayed here Aug bank holiday 2011 for 2 nights. We arrived early hours Sun morning and had a friendly greeting at reception. Rooms are basic but very clean. The hotel is a little tired but very homely and the staff are very friendly, nothing potentious... more

It was by personal recommendation that I booked my holiday at The Tagomago Hotel in San Antonio Bay, Ibiza (not Tagomango as listed here). It is a superb hotel for a peaceful holiday in the sun. The manager, Luis, greeted us personally, and was always on-hand. The staff... more

Lovely hotel in perfect location, rooms overlooking swimming pool for stunning views over the bay.
Staff very friendly as you would expect from a small (2 story) family run hotel.
As for the food there always seemed to be something I liked
All in all a great hotel great location I’ve already booked for June 2005.

Never go here
The worst hotel I have ever stayed in....ever...without comparison. I would rather stay in a prison cell! First and foremost, they took a booking of 160 people in 80 rooms, then complained that as a group we were too noisy. I'm sorry, but you'd expect a hotel in Ibiza to know that letting out 80 rooms to 160 people as one booking is likely to mean some volume! We weren't awkward, but when there are roughly 40 people around the pool each day who all know each other, conversation becomes loud! The rooms have no refridgerators and the bar closes at 1am, so if you want a cold drink in the middle of the night you have to go across the road to the supermarket. The rooms were clean, but designed by someone with complete lack of spatial perception. Some rooms were barely big enough to get a lightbulb in, while others had closets bigger than the adjoining room! My roomatte left the key in the door while popoing to the WC, someone came along and locked him in the room. Management would not give us a replacement and so he sat in the room for 19hrs waiting for someone to try and "break in". We eventually got a replacement and had to pay for a replacement lock, but when we checked out the original key was in the cubbyhole behind reception! Two of our party had their rooms broken into, llst of cash stolen and the managment refused to ring the police. This is not worth the money! There are many more cheaper, cleaner, nicer places to stay!

We were saddened that your stay with us did not meet your expectations, we strive to ensure that every guest has a memorable stay with us. On the point of the bar opening hours it can on occasions be open for an extra hour until 2 am in the morning. Grant B

Hands down - Worst Hotel EVER!
When booking I saw the newly renovated rooms online and thought it'd be a good place to stay. I arrived at 3 pm and was told it would be 2 or more hours before my room was ready. When I got the room, it was the WORST! It was no bigger than my walkin closet in Texas, there is NO AIR CONDITIONING and it was right on the main street......so basically the room shook when a car would go by (about every 2 seconds) and the ceiling fan was noisy. I asked for a room change and the night guy told me that if I didn't like the room they provided then I needed to find another hotel. In the morning, I spoke with the assistant manager who gave me another room.....which was nicer; however, I decided to fly home one day earlier and the manager demanded I pay for the night not used (even though there is a two day minimum which I fulfilled)......I told him no and he acted like he wanted to hit me. He told me to never come back because I was "an ungreatful American" - trust me, that's the last place I'll ever stay at again!

We were saddened to hear that your stay with us didnt meet your expectations, we strive to make every guest stay a happy one. You mentioned that we have no air conditioning, but we only advertise the fact that we have ceiling fans. Grant B

Excellent Hotel !
I stayed for a week in San Antoni Bay with my girlfriend here. This hotel is one of the first hotels in the Bay just a stroll or boat ride (2 euro) away from the busy night life allowing a good nights sleep! We stayed half board, dinner started at 8pm excellent choice of salads and local dishes made by the chef. Good choice of wines, they even offer to keep the wine in the fridge for the next night if you can't finish it! We would then catch the boat ferry from right outside hotel at 9pm to catch the sunset at the sunset strip with a few beers in Cafe Mambo and Savanah. The Sunset is also as good from the hotel as my photos show. The room was cleaned each day and towels changed. Very authentic decoration with lovely wooden green shutters allowing you to leave the balcony doors open for a fresh breeze at night. Choice of cooked breakfast, cold meats, yogurts, toast and croissants which makes you get up in the morning! There is a bus stop right outside the hotel where we went to Ibiza town (1.65 euro from bus station) and further round the bay to Cala Conta (1.25 euro). We used the beach outside the hotel as it was less crowded and allowed drinking on the balcony for a break from the sun! It was a refreshing change to the normal hotel chains with really friendly staff helping you to get the most out of your stay. There were regular guests which come back each year, i would return again for another relaxing break. Booking direct through the hotel website it was excellent value for money.

Give this hotel a break!
I stayed at this hotel in September and would rate it as being of a good UK B & B standard. It's not the most modern hotel and it's a little frayed round the edges but for the price (around £20 per person per night Half Board) what can you say! I found the staff to be very helpful and polite, especially Pepe the barman. The food was buffet style and although not great it was edible. Again for the price if you don't like it there are many places locally where a substanstial meal for two (with sangria or wine) will only set you back around 30-40 euros San Antonio Bay is quiet and has some small cove like beaches. San Antonio Town is it's livlier realtive, famed for the "west end" as seen on Ibiza Uncovered a few years back. I found there was a mix of ages and nationalities out and about in both resorts and not everyone is there getting drunk like lager louts (although you may spot a few!) All in all for a cheap, basic accomodation in this area you could do worse than the Tagomago.
Not bad, Worse!!!!!!!
I can not understand how you can say that it is a nice place. The worse place i´ve ever been. They lie about the services, and i will not talk about the food. They don´t clean, and you have to use the same clothetable for dinner and breakfast. I couldn´t belive it!!!!. If you wanna (---) your enemy send him to Hotel Tagomago!!!!

We were saddened that your stay with us didn't meet your expectations, we strive to ensure every guest has a happy stay with us. On the question of "we don't clean the rooms" they are cleaned every day if our cleaning staff can gain access to the rooms, rooms are cleaned daily between 1000-1500. We were sorry to hear that the food was not to your liking, we try and cater for a large variety of international tastes and the table napkins are normally changed between Breakfast and the evening meal. Average accomodation in Ibiza?
If this was anywhere else other than Ibiza I would have changed hotels immediately - the fact that I only had to stay in the room a couple of hours each day kept me from making that decision. When we arrived we found that all the sheets on our beds had blood stains when we requested some more we got some 'slighty' cleaner sheets. Resorting to sleeping on the beech would have been a better option. The water in the sea was much cleaner than the water available in your room. We resorted into buying the large 5Ltr bottles of water just so we could wash our faces, clean our teeth and wash our hair - this is a must! I would also watch out for the electric sockets - when attempting to use my clippers or the lady using her hair straighteners there was large jumps of electricity - after a couple of attempts we decided it would be best to give up. The big thick cables of electricity coming into the hotel are located right outside your balcony and the sound that it makes was similar to that of a million grasshoppers! The food that they served was appalling and, totally agree with the last writers theory of recycling the food. The lady friend I went with ate some on the 1st day and was ill for the next 4 she then resorted to eating chips only at a bar across the road. I would recommend eating at the beach bar at the larger beach along the road - it was about 9 euros for steak and chips and you could see them cooking it! The elderly chap Louis was very friendly and appeared to be around 24 hrs - he was there during the day and there to greet you when you were getting back in the morning after a night out. The hotel contained more people of different nationalities (not many English) therefore the hotel was much quieter than those surrounding it. However, after saying this we did not expect the accommodation to be great - I don't think anywhere in Ibiza can afford to have good accommodation due to the number of young people staying in them.

Thank you for you review of our hotel, we always encourage feedback both positive & negative on the question of clean sheets in the bedrooms, these sheets are changed every other day if access to the rooms can be gained by our cleaning staff. Grant B

Do Not stay here
I have just returned from Tagomago Hotel, near San Antoni, Ibiza. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Expedia lists Tagomago Hotel as having fully air conditioned bedrooms. This is a lie. NO AIR CONDITIONING in any of the bedrooms. A noisy ceiling fan is the only facility the hotel bedrooms provide. Sea water is piped from the sea and heated up. This is your sink, shower, bath and tap water. This means you can never get the salt off your skin after the day on the muddy, sandy beach. Your hair is never clean. You cannot drink the water. You cannot wash your clothes clean. This is not mentioned on the websites. Safe boxes are provided in one of the downstairs lounges only. However, this room is locked before the night clubs even open. So we were unable to go clubbing that night when we were ready to go out as our cash was in the safe. We had requested a sea view room. We were given a back garden bedroom. But, what they don't tell you is 20 metres away is a noisy, neon flashing amusement arcade which is open all night. On the third day after repeated requests, Luis, the elderly owner offered us a grotty, tiny, noisy, vaguely seaview room (if you want to be looked at by all the passers by on the street outside). We declined this. No hair dryer in bedrooms. No TV in bedrooms. The SKY satelite TV in the lounge cuts out the picture after 8.30pm. The large bath towels are tiny and measure around 24" by 48". You are not permitted to use them for the beach either. No full length mirror - so you can't see what you look like when getting ready to go out. The hot food is terrible. the worst kind of school dinners. Greasy, unappetising, overly salty, soggy rice, fatty meats, unedible. The bread rolls were rock hard both at breakfast and at dinner time. Uneaten cold salad foods (potato, ham, cucumber, egg etc..) was reformulated into tomorrows meal. This tasted foul and I'm not sure they didn't rehash the same uneaten food the following day too. The soup was a reconstituted packet variety. No fresh soup was offered. The only food which was ok was the crisp lettuce, and tomato. And once we were offered beetroot. The breakfast fruit juice was a diluted orange squash. It had separated before we sat down at our table. It was rancid. The fried eggs were appalling, broken, greasy, cold. Only the hard boiled eggs were edible. The cold cereal milk was warm. The cereal was stale. Other toasting bread was stale, only the butter was fresh. On arrival, they refused point blank to help us two girls with our luggage at 3am after a delayed flight, up the two flights of stairs. No lift. It seemed that around 98% of the guests were British. However, they did let us stay in the room until 3pm on the departure day and they phoned for a taxi to take us back to the airport on departure day. The hotel was kept clean and some of the staff were friendly. A brick built sewer building is built right outside the hotel between the hotel and the beach. It measures around 13' by 8'. It stinks. So no-one bathes there. There is a large blue bore pipe around 15" in diameter leading from it to the sea which is ten feet away. We had to go round the bay a little. The beach is more muddy than sandy. Rocky too. We often bashed our feet. On the beaches two sunloungers and shade cost 15 euros per session. This is outrageous but nothing to do with the hotel. The shops are overpriced - £2.00 for a litre of milk for example in the local Spa. All in all it was a horrible stay. Hot stuffy small bedroom, unable to cool down. Salty washing water. Surrounded by a high rise concrete jungle, loud music from hotel next door competing with the loud music from ours. Total misrepresentation of facilities offered. Do NOT stay here.

We were saddened to hear your stay with us didn't meet your expectations, we strive to ensure every guest has a happy stay with us, on the question of Safe boxes their are notices next to the boxes and again in reception detailing the time access can be gained throughout the day, the boxes are not accessible during the night for security reasons, and our room are ventilated by ceiling fans in each room, we don't state that we have Air Conditioning but this perhaps is misconstrued in the agents own details. Must have been somewhere else!
I think the person from Chicago must have been in a different hotel to the one being reviewed here. I was in the Hotel Tagomago only 10 days earlier, and my experience (and indeed that of the other guests present at the same time) was extremely different. We all found the place to be spotlessly clean, the staff friendly, and the food far better than that being offered in adjacent 4* and 5* hotels. This is a hotel that people frequently return to. It is not the Ritz, but it is certainly a very clean and pleasant hotel with an excellent choice of meals at breakfast and at dinner time, and you couldnt get much closer to the sea without actualy being in it!!

Good value and location... nothing special
Great, convenient location half way between San Antonio Bay and Town, right on Playa S'Estanyol beachfront. Looks like it was built in the 1960's (retaining some original furniture) but this adds to its charm. Has own pool, but I prefered small beach at the front with own beach bar... Bus stop right outside... Area/clientele quiter than hotels in West End, but not too far to walk to the action. Many rooms have great sea views (see photo) and varying sizes of balcony. Unfortunately my room was facing the rear gardens of the hotel, into the tree canopy, but OK, and balcony not overlooked. Reasonable hot/cold breakfast buffet (if you wake up in time!)

terrible experience
THis hotel is awful. The website shows the rooms that have been renovated, but fails to mention that those that have not been, are disgusting. Mold grows on the floor, the kitchen was gross, and the bed looks like something that I would not go anywhere near, let alone sleep on. We ate one night, and chnaged hotels. Would not even stay there!!!

We were saddened to hear that your stay with us was not a happy one, some of your comments have been taken on board, however we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of the hotel and have investigated your comment of "mold on the floor". Grant B
