The La Cite is a small and friendly hotel in a conveniently central location for local facilities. Family-run, its simply furnished rooms are fairly basic but are ideal for those looking for value for money. The hotel is 500m from the resort centre of Lixouri, 700m from the supermarket and 600m from the nearest café, bar and restaurant. The beach is approximately 2.5km away.

" Great Value "

Although not luxurious, La Cite is a fabulous bargain. Only a few minutes from the Square and all that Lixouri has to offer, this modest, but spotlessly clean hotel provides all that you need. It's a small business, so you get to know the staff very quickly - and they cannot do enough for you. Lixouri itself is authentically Greek and thankfully lacks the hoards of tourists found elsewhere in the Med. It is rare to find other Brits, or any other nationality for that matter, in the town. Indeed, in the small, well - stocked supermarket, you will find yourself alongside no-one else other than the locals. This hotel and town are highly recommended to anyone who wants to get to know the real Ionian Islands amd is not looking for 5 * luxury.

Advice: as above

Activities: Akros on the seafront. Only sea bream and bass are fresh (as in all the restaurants) good prices

" We stayed at La Cite Hotel in Lixouri... "

We stayed at La Cite Hotel in Lixouri for two weeks from 5th June 2004.We cannot praise it enough. It is a family run hotel, which is very friendly, and the staff cannot do enough for you.
<br><br>
The price is per room rather than per person and friends who stayed there did not pay a single room supplement. Accommodation is basic but quite adequate and there is air conditioning. There is a bar and dining area and a pool with free sunbeds.

The breakfast was more substantial than we were expecting but cooked breakfast is also available at an extra cost.

Lixouri itself is a very friendly place.
