What a wonderful hotel for a family holiday, 'Paloma Beach Hotel'.
We had read a number of previous reviews and were concerned as to whether we had made the right choice or not. On our arrival at 0500 hours we were convinced that we had made a horrible mistake; our first impressions were not good. However a couple of hours later, after a wash and brush up and a short rest, all our fears were dispelled; we saw the place for what it really was 'Paradise'.
The hotel was situated in a beautiful location; the staff were friendly and hard working and everywere was clean and tidy.
The pools and bars were a pleasure to be in and there were plenty of activities for all the family. The evening entertainment was a bit amateurish but fun and the childrens leaders certainly worked hard with their sketches making them something to remember.
The food at this hotel was superb and was of a higher standard than we have recieved in the past in far higher classified hotels. The al le carte fish restaurant was a real bonus.
There was only one slight downside and that was the lack of choice in the bar. It would have been nice to have had a better variety of beer and spirits.
We were accommodated in the older part of the hotel which although beautifully clean is getting a bit 'tired' and in need of an upgrade. I understand that this is soon to be pulled down and rebuilt.
Our Thomas Cook representative Stephanie, was all that you could have asked for in a rep., extremely helpful and a real scource of information. Because of her recommendation we went on a couple of day trips; including whitewater rafting and the excursion to Perge both of which we really enjoyed.
I cannot recommend this holiday highly enough: it will be something we will look back on with happy memories for years to come.

Stayed at the hotel in August just gone, couldn't praise it high enough from the lady who cleaned the room , right through to the restaurant staff/bar staff. The Palomotion animation team worked really hard and made my stay as a single mum with 3 children a truly lovely and welcoming experience. We were all inclusive and the food was excellent and for us a very good choice. would recommend the following with fond memories David and the rest of the animation team, Talip and Raheem in the restaurant, the lady who looked after our room, and last but not least Mustafa who took some great photos of myself and the kids. would certainly go again. Miss them all!

We stayed at Paloma Beach Hotel for 2 weeks. Six of us stayed, two adults and four children. We all loved it! It was a very clean and tidy hotel, the pool area and beach was brilliant! the bars were greatalong with the mexican and Itallian restraunt- we didn't try the fish as we are not really kean on seafood. The entertainment was SUPERB!!! You couldn't fault it! There was pleanty of activities such as darts, water polo, volley ball on the beach shuffel board and french bowls. . . the Nightly entertainment was GREAT on one of the nights, there was a beach foam party... Everyone loved it! There were lots of shows too such as snow white... there is a Turkish night every night where there are stalls and camels! The only problem was there wasnt a very good food choice for the english . . we found it ok after the first few days, it was just mainly the breakfast... there was eggs( fried, omlett of hadr boiled) cereal fruit, pastries, salad, ham , cheese, peas, carrots and sweetcorrn! The the staff were excellent very polite and took care of the english they were great with the kids and by the end of the 3rd day most of the wasiterd knew out orders for drinks at mealtimed, they were allways happy and couldn't find anyone miserable!
This holiday would be great for any family wanting a good holiday! ( If you don't mind the Germans either)

I thought this was one of the best holidays I've ever been on! The hotel was absolutely wonderful! The entertainment was great, extremely friendly people. I've been here twice and plan to go back at first it was just me and my mother then the following year we took my mum's husband his nephew and my auntie. We all had a ball. The food is just out of this world you could never ever go hungry. Yes it was rather full of german peoplebut sometimes you get along with them because most of them speak good english. The hotel staff were very friendly, some didn't speak english but you don't really talk to them. The weather is lovely and so is the beach there are many watersport activities availible. You can go on days out such as waterparks, spas and shopping. The turkish market is charming and fun. Though you can get a little lost but its an adventure all the same. I am only 11 years old and I loved it, it is fun for all the family with a kids club and mini disco. I hope other people enjoyed it as much as I and my family did.

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday, but this hotel is geared up for ALL INCLUSIVE.
We were all inclusive and the facilities were just what we needed. I'm fair skinned and the parasols are huge, and there are complete screens as parasols on the beach. Which is fab. Karaoke was like the eurovision song contest. We loved it.
As a sideline . . . . . . .
I have noticed that Thomas Cook are advertising this hotel as self catering in the 2008 brochure (July Edition) for holidays 2008/2009. Read the description very carefully. There is no kitchen and be warned you need your room key to buy an ice cream, none of the bars are set up to receive cash, they swipe your room key and print a receipt. You have to pay at reception. Not my idea of a fun self catering holiday.
We are trying to book this hotel independantly as all inclusive.

Me and my fiance spent a fortnight here in July and found it distinctively average. We would not rate this as a 4* hotel. Perhaps a 3*. The rooms were small, bathroom even smaller (and tatty) and the bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on!! Staff were friendly but communicating can be difficult, couldn't find anyone who spoke fluent English. Learn German if you go here. The majority of guests were German. They hog sunbeds as well. I spotted some laying towls out at 5:50am!! The biggest let-down was the "air-conditioned" rooms. This is only switched on at three intervals - an hour at a time. So in forty degree heat it got a bit warm!!
Being more positive it was a good location, nice pool area and plenty to do in the area. We also had 14 days of non-stop sun. Food was...well average I suppose, nothing to get excited about - typical AI buffet style. We wouldn't go here again or to Turkey

All good. The arrangement - successful, is very close up to a beach, pools - remarkable, meal - tasty and various. The small park, flowers and trees has especially liked. Questions the personnel and guides solved all operatively and in favour of having a rest.
One problem - furniture in numbers mismatches a level of hotel.

What a fantastic holiday we have just returned from!!!! The accommodation was superb, the food excellent and the facilities were great. The rep (Steph) is very good and on our 2nd day, managed to get us to go to 'A Turkish Bath', which was the best thing we could have done. On that trip we made 6 good friends, with whom we spent our evenings together. Just incase they are reading this HELLO to Lorraine, Colin, Jane, Lisa, Bobby and Kirsty. I'm sure they will agree with everything I am writing. The complex is fantastic and the photo's do not do it justice. The only downside was the all-inclusive bar and the amount of Russians and French. The bar only served local vodka, gin, brandy, raki (similar to Pernod) and Larger. The spirits were not good which left only larger to drink. If I was to return I would take a bottle with me for my evening entertainment. The Entertainment at night wasn't out of this world however, the guys work really hard for you and probably do not get the recognition deserved. There are a lot of French AND Russians but like others have said, the English all join together in this resort and have a good laugh. I would return to this resort again without doubt. Just get up early and get your sunbeds and umbrellas as it is so sunny here, you need to have an umbrella or you can burn easily. Their are plenty of beds though to accommodate most people. The beach is not sand but shingle so take a pair of shoes you can wear in the sea(believe me you will need them!) When you are there go on the evening shopping trip to Kemer with Steph, who will get you some fantastic deals on Leather and Handbags or whatever you want. The trip is designed for you and Steph goes where you want.
WHAT A FAB TIME WE HAD!!!!!!!!!! WILL MOST LIKELY RETURN

Stayed at this hotel May 18th 2008 - 1 weeks All Inclusive - Lovely hotel, very clean and well serviced. Found the staffing ratio very good for an hotel of this size resulting in very good service at all times. Food was plentyfull and of a good standard. Entertainment was basic to say the least with little on offer outside of the hotel. Would recommend this hotel on the basis of its accommodation, cleanliness, service, food and beach - but mark it down on poor entertainment on offer

This hotel is lovely. It has beautiful gardens and is in a great location. We arrived at 5am and the reception staff were excellent. We had to fill out a short form and he fitted our all inclusive bands around our wrists. Another boy then took our cases to our room and showed us where the restaurant was.
The waterslides were in action every day, but not all day. It said in the brochure that the three a la carte restaurants were open from the 15th May and we were there from the 11th to the 19th so we were prepared for the fact that they may not be open at all while we were there, but they were! You could go to each one once and you have to book. The food in all of them was nice. The Italian was the best. It’s up on the balcony terrace and has a lovely view of the pool and the beach all lit up by lanterns. There is no menu to choose what you want; they just serve you a set meal. The Italian and the fish restaurants were four courses and the Mexican was one course. These restaurants are included in the all inclusive option and in the fish and Mexican restaurants they give you a bottle of wine on your table. In the Italian they just keep you topped up with whatever you’re drinking. The Mexican was very rushed and they seemed in a hurry. They put our starter down as soon as we sat at our table and as soon as we had put down our knives and forks they replaced our empty plates with the main. The dessert was then set down next to it ready for when we had finished! The food was very tasty, but it was a shame we felt rushed. The fish restaurant was in a perfect location right on the beach. It was only lit by lanterns and was a bit too dark – I like to see what I’m eating especially when fish bones are involved!
There are 3 pools, the two main ones, the baby pool and the pool with the waterslides. All lovely and clean and plenty of sun beds.
The hotel is VERY German orientated. Everyone who works at the hotel or in the shops in Side assumes that you are German. This was not a problem for us and did not ruin our holiday or anything, but was a bit irritating. I did hear that the best rooms were reserved for the Germans and on our last day we had to check out at 12 noon. We were not being picked up until 11.30pm and asked if we could extend our room until 6pm which it said we could do in the information book in our room. We were told that we couldn’t extend our room, but we could use a room in the evening for a shower, but the English people only had one shower room between them!!! We did get a shower anyway and it was fine.
The evening entertainment is nothing to get excited about. Most of it was awful to be honest. It was the first time we’d been all inclusive and we missed going out to eat in the evenings and going for drinks in different bars. Once we’d eaten in the restaurant it was usually about 9pm when the kids disco was just finishing. We rarely stayed to watched the shows and were usually in our room having a drink by 10pm or 11pm rather than sit though it. Germans seemed to quite like it though.
The food in the buffet restaurant was delicious! Could not fault it. Each day for breakfast there was a man frying eggs and making omelettes and there were pastries, cereals, bread, jam, boiled eggs, sausages (German!), scrambled eggs, ham, cheese, croissants……..Plenty of choice for everyone. For lunch and evening meal there was always a chef on the grill in the dining room grilling fish, meat or burgers and sometimes a pasta chef in the evenings. There was also salad, cheese, meats, chips, pasta in sauce, stews, bread, dips, dressings, rice, cous cous. The desserts were soooo yummy! Lots of cake and pastries, Baklava was absolutely amazing and I had far too much of it! You could help yourself to wine. Watch out for the Rose wine though – it’s half red and half white! You can also help yourself to fruit juice and hot drinks (coffee, tea and hot chocolate). The waiters served anything else including Cola, Fanta and Lemonade. The fridge in our room was constantly stocked with bottled water that we did not have to pay for.
The hotel is in two blocks. The reception, buffet restaurant, gym, wellness centre and the shop are in one block and the lobby bar is in the other. The lobby bar had a fab view of the sea. It says in the brochure that cocktails are not included in the all inclusive deal, but you could have the Paloma cocktail. It wasn’t great though! You could buy nicer cocktails from the lobby bar for 5 Euros/10 Lira. They also had a table out by the entertainment stage each night with the cocktails of the day on. You could help yourself to as many as you liked and they table was kept topped up with them.
The animation team were good. There was constantly something going on during the day such as beach volleyball, beach football, aerobics, water aerobics, shuffleboard, darts, table tennis, etc. Anyone could join in.
We didn’t actually go in the Wellness Centre. The Turkish Bath was included in the all inclusive deal, but you need to have it on your first day. By out second day we had such good tans that we didn’t want them scrubbed away. You could have a massage or a facial which you had to pay for, but I don’t know how much they were. We didn’t go in the gym either.
We walked to Side twice along the beach and I think it took about 1 hour to 1 and a half hours and it was a nice walk. The beach is good and clean. It’s amazing that once you get to Side you’re walking past shops, cafes, etc and then suddenly you’re in a historical site, amphitheatre, Temple of Apollo….None of it is fenced of, even the mosaics, you can walk straight through/over.
I would recommend this 4* hotel to anyone. We need to get more English people there!
