Excellent hotel in excellent location. Its huge, but easy to navigate. The pool area is brilliant, never too busy. The lazy river was ideal as the av. temp was 115 with 3% humidity!! The casino was good too, we were not big gamblers, but it catered for everyone. Our room... more

Our accommodation was everything we could have asked for. We had a room in the West Wing, which was clean, spacious and decorated in a very modern, stylish manner. The facilities within the room were second to none, with walk-in shower, cable TV, DVD player, King-Size... more

Impressive hotel. As soon as you walk in the entrance you know you are in Vegas as the check in area was massive with huge TV screens. The hotel is so big it takes forever to escape, which can be annoying after a couple of days. Hotel room had the latest technology,... more

All in all a fantastic holiday, we booked 3 months prior to departure through an internet site and got an extremely competitive rate. The Signature hotel is MGM grand's private hotel (only guests can get in) which is situated off strip behind a gated entrance. The hotel... more

We chose this hotel because of the novelty of its size and it certainly lives up to its description - its huge! However it does feel slightly lacking in atmosphere away from the public areas. Security is good and the bedrooms are of a high standard, but I did miss... more

Having stayed here previously in 1997, I was really looking forward to coming back. Its too its the city that doesn’t sleep, and you can get action in any of the casinos at any time of the day. I loved the casino, and the hotel. For the price, we couldn't go wrong, and... more

First class hotel! Firstly the hotel is only 5 mins from the airport making your arrival easy. The hotel is also on the famous Strip - right where all the action is in Las Vegas. The hotel itself was superb! Everything was of the utmost luxury; staff could not be more... more

Jan 2005,

This was a superb hotel. It firstly is only 10 minutes by car from Las Vegas Macarran airport- a cheap shuttle bus service runs from the hotel to the airport every 30 mins making it easily accessible. The hotel is also located on the famous Las Vegas Strip- if you are... more

Theft a problem at the MGM
The hotel was OK, rooms don't have any conveniences such as a coffee maker or refrigerator that even the less expensive hotels have. Had a problem with theft. We locked up our valuables in the room safe, but had clothing stolen. A couple that was with us but staying in a different room on the same floor (17th) had prescription medication and costume jewelry stolen. After reporting to security, they came and went through everything looking for the missing jewelry, only for it to show up several days later in a usually unused portion of her luggage. Needless to say, we wont stay there again. They say they can't be responsible, but you can't lock up your clothing. I have since turned them over to the Nevada Attorney General.
Mgm Is Large
We spent two nights at the MGM and stayed in the Grand Tower. Our room was larger than average, just like the casino itself. Be prepared to walk. It is a good walk from the parking structure to the hotel lobby. It is also a good walk from the room elevators to the pool. We ate at the buffet for dinner and I was surprised at how good it was.
nice rooms but overall unimpressed
stayed there for three nights last week. Got a good (late) deal from their website : $69/night for a grand tower king. Airport check-in was fast and efficient. Had an Oracle convention there at the same time taking 3000 rooms so we were upgraded to a suite. It didn't overlook the strip but were on the 9th floor overlooking airport/Mandalay Bay. Huge rooms, huge bathroom with jacuzzi and separate shower. Lots of lost space. We were at the end of a tower alley near the new tram system under construction but we were not inconvenienced by the construction work that started at 6am each day. Windows for dirty though. Fast check out using the television set is a delight. Although the casino itself is totally unimpressive (and the slots are extremely tight), the selection of restaurants is quite large but they're all very expensive. Ricardo's (mexican) seemed nice and affordable but did not give it a try. There is a food court with several booths you can buy ready made meals from and the chinese one is excellent is very reasonably priced. Buffet was acceptable (loved the japanese stuff) although well below the standards of the Paris buffet. New ultra-lounge Tabu looked nice and hip but expect to spend a fortune. Shopping experience in the casino is average. Although there were some live bands playing in the entertainment dome at times at the entrance of the casino, we were relatively unimpressed by the entertainment offered here. The Lion Habitat is nice especially at opening (11am) and 'shift-change' (4.15pm). Lions are asleep at other times. As this attraction is free, you don't have to stay here to see it. Thought we'd stay here for the location and hoping we would have a room facing NY NY which I think is the nicest facade of Vegas (my wife does not agree). Finally, we were unimpressed with the Mandalay Bay resorts (MB, Luxor, Excalibur and Monte Carlo). Shark reef at MB was OK but very expensive and will suit mainly the kids. (there is a nice aquarium behind the atlantis statues in the forum shops atminus the sharks). The half-price Tix booth near the coca cola store nearby was nice though but don't expect to find tickets for the cirque du soleil shows or for Lance Burton. We got tickets for Splash, still good despite the fact they dropped the water shows, Lance Burton was so-so, okay for kids which are actually involved in the show. We were extremely well impressed by the Paris Las Vegas casino, shopping and buffet, as well as by the Bellagio and Caesar's. Paris connects to sister property Bally's which had great entertainment when we walked through. I think center strip is a much better location to stay. Will try Paris, Harrahs, Ballys or Flamingo next time.
Have a Grand Day
Stayed @ MGM for 3 nights in 1998. Room was clean & smart, if a little small. Bathroom shower curtain wasn't long enough, so I kept soaking the floor! Staff were very efficient, when my boyfriend called after I had checked out they gave him the details of my next destination (as requested) but also went to the trouble of looking up the phone number for him! Do not underestimate the length of time it takes to get to/from your room -especially if like us you are at the far end of the longest of the 4 wings! This year, I am staying at the Excalibur. I'll keep Trip Advisor updated...
A great Vegas visit, a great place to stay!
I was in Vegas for a vacation/convention in late May and stayed at the MGM Grand. I expected to hate it because of its size, but I loved every minute I was there!! Easy and fast airport check in--I had my room key and my checked bag and was on the shuttle in less than 10 minutes after arriving in the baggage claim area. My "Gable" room in the Grand Tower was spacious and very comfortable and quiet. Housekeeping was impeccable. Service throughout the hotel was never less than excellent. These had to be the happiest employees I've seen anywhere--MGM is obviously doing something right. The restaurants were excellent and service was fast, but you were never rushed. I highly recommend Emeril's, Wolfgang Puck Cafe and the frozen margaritas from Ricardo's. You will do a lot of walking, especially if you are attending something in the convention center, but I didn't mind and its how I lost two pounds while stuffing myself all week! Pool grounds are very nice. It was a little tough finding a chair over Memorial Day weekend, but very relaxed and uncrowded after that. I also highly recommend taking in the house show "La Femme." Its the ultimate showgirl show-I'm female and went with three female friends and we all adored it. Overall, it was a great vacation/conference experience. I would highly recommend this hotel as long as you don't mind walking a bit, and I will definitely go back. I never found it overcrowded, even over a holiday weekend, and that was a real plus. The MGM Grand is a class act.
A Great Hotel!
Just returned from a five day trip to Las Vegas and stayed at the MGM. The decor was absolutely beautiful, the staff was extremely friendly and prompt, and the pool was great! The only drawback was the fact that the room service was a bit overpriced, but it's Las Vegas and you could very easily go downstairs to one of the buffets for less money. Overall I would say it was well worth the money.
Great place to stay.
This place is huge! But... they offer everything. Great pool, every game you can imagine, great sportsbook, I had a blast. I had a great room on the 27th floor overlooking the strip, good size and very clean. (I did find a roll of quarters on the window sill but I didn't get to upset over it) Rainforrest cafe was very good and you can avoid the long wait if you don't mind sitting at the bar. The jambalia (??) is the best. New York New York is just across the street and has incredible atmosphere and the roller coaster is awesome. Highly recommend.
MgM Grand was grand!
The Mgm Grand was grand. Unlike all the other hotels I have stayed at, this one actually had a good selection of places to eat!
Loved the MGM
I honestly think this is the best hotel on the strip. The rooms were big and spacious (could only get a smoking room but being a non smoker was presently surprised that the room didnt stink of stale tobacco). The food was excellent - Wolfgang Puck's has the best steak I have ever tasted, the casino was superb (contrary to other reviews, the tables started at a $5 minimum bet). The 'Ladies of the evening' tended to keep themselves to themselves, ie. no fights! Basically the whole atmosphere was spot on, and for a hotel this good, 4 of us sharing two rooms worked out at less than £50 per night- excellent value for money - you'd stay at a hovel in the UK for that sort of money. Go again? OH YES!!!
MGM Not so Grand
For one of the supposed upper level hotels in Las Vegas we were very disappointed. For starters we get to our room to find garbage and used soap from the previous guests. There were a couple of occasions that we had to call to have our room cleaned and to get extra towels was like asking for a huge credit line. We had a potentially decent view except you couldn't see through the filth of the windows. In order to get hot water you had to let the shower and faucet run for at least 15 minutes. We waited almost an hour for bell service. But the final nail in the coffin and please beware especially to family goers...At about 3 A.M. this place is overrun by the ladies of the night. I was told by MGM employees that this is one of the few hotels that knowingly allow this. A fight even broke out among the ladies in the lounge over territory..I thought I was in East L.A. The only saving grace in this hotel as far as we were concerned was the club...and not Studio 54. A new lounge has opened called Tabu. It has a classy and adventerous atmosphere and the staff is attentive. As Vegas regulars we will be back to Tabu as guests but not as guests of this hotel. We are going back to the Venetian!!!
