Jun 2008, Miss H Trihy

Me and my family went there in may 2005 and thought it was lovely. The bar was a bit crap but we had loads of fun. The hotel is just opposit old town which is beautiful, you can go there to look at the cool shops or dare to go on the slingshot! they also have car shows... more

If you’re not too fussy about where you say or the fact the place could do with a lick of paint or the view out the balcony is a bit naff. Then you'll do fine. It’s not a bad cheep place to stay and everything you need (i.e. shops/food) is very easy to get to. At the... more

We had $200 stolen from our hotel room safe during our stay. The safe was locked but the instructions were stuck on top of the safe under the bathroom counter, so they were impossible to read. We also found used chewing gum stuck to the wall, a used cotton bud down the... more

Nov 2004, Mr Colin Ryder

Flew from London Gatwick to Orlando Sanford with Airtours after finding a last minute deal on there website for £400 each which was a bargain. However we saw some bad reviews of the hotel on the web before and thought "Oh no, what have we done" but I’m pleased to say it... more

Serviceable and affordable...
We stayed at the Travelodge Maingate for two nights in June of 2003. Didn't experience any serious problems; though we did little more than sack out after spending a day at the Magic Kingdom. While taking a stroll around the premises I did notice that an entire wing of rooms at the rear of the property appears to have been abandoned. Strange. It was quiet, and our room was OK. This place should work for non-demanding travelers.
Dirty, Stinky, Rusty and Rude Manager
I had reseverations at this facility for July 24TH 2004 for 7 nights. After seeing the reviews on the web I called te hotel and was assured that the hotel was clean so I did not cancel. Upon arriving at the hotel, I also told the recptionist about the web site and asked if I could see the room so I can decide for myself. She let me view a room "Like" my room, so I waited another hour for the room to be cleaned. It was true. The room stunk, the carpets were dirty and the sink was rusty. The sofa-bed was small(twin), dirty, torn and... more
cheap
It was a ok room for the price. Couldn't find a ice machine that worked, had to turn hot water on at the sink with pliers at the shut off to use. Reported this to the office first day but never fixed. Doubt if we'd stay here again.
Almost gave up a nice holiday, after reading these reviews!
I was dreading going to this hotel, however it was past the cancel period. With having prepaid for the room we decided to wait and see for ourselves. I booked our family holiday through a reputable travel company. World Vacations. I made the mistake of reading the reviews people had posted here! All but one had horrible things to say. I certainly was not expecting a 5 star hotel, knowing what we paid for the room. I was very pleased when we arrived. Yes the hotel is not new, however unlike other accounts, the room was clean and well... more
Creepy and nasty
nasty, creepy motel. half the motel was unoccupied and the rooms were in sad need of remodeling. Rust, chipping paint etc. Worn out blankets. I slept on top of the spread and pulled the table and chairs in front of the doo as a precaution. I would have left if I hadn't paid for the room. Another case of you get what you pay for - $30 a night and that was overpriced for this motel. nasty and creepy.
Quite a disappointment
I wish I had read these reviews before I left. I would never have stayed at this Travelodge. Since this motel was only rated 2 diamonds by the AAA I was not expecting anything elaborate. I was expecting something clean and well maintained. I was truly disappointed. It seems that I was lucky in that my room was not bug infested and everything worked. The room was not very clean especially the bathroom which had a very large accumulation of dirt in the corners which I'm sure took a long time to build up. The sofa sleeper which we did... more
the room was bugged
Shabby unkempt exterior and lobby as well, but get this... the first room we were given the door lock literally fell off as we entered and besides the room looked dirty and broken down. The second room we were assigned was not even made up and the heater had been dismantled. Now, the third room was passable although that's saying alot, so we unloaded and went out dinner. At about 11:00 at night we notice tiny insects scurrying around on the sink counter. Not one or two but lots of tiny "ghost ants" as they are apparently called. Wait,... more
BED BUG CITY!!!!
You do not want to stay here! I made reservations 1 month in advance, we had originally planned on a camping trip because of a small budget, but found this motel on internet and thought wow we could have water and airconditioning for same price of camping, so we DID go with open mind, that it wouldn't be the cleanest place. This was one of the places you would have nightmares about, we pulled up and thought okay it isn't as clean looking as it appeared to be on the web, but that's okay, it's cheap and maybe the rooms are cleaner, we check in... more
Great place for a family vacation
Amazing place to stay with the family for a great price! slept 6 to each suite which came furnished with much more than we expected!! And the shopping outlets in the area were fantastic! would def. recommend this place to any family looking for a great deal.
Move on down the road
I'm giving this property 2 stars instead of one only because the staff seemed typically Florida friendly. To be truely terrible a lodging place has to be bad AND have rude staff. Plus you can't call this place neutral/average or the Florida tourist industry is more trouble than we thought. First, I'll sum up the facilities; we had two tired rooms. In one the toilet leaked. In the other the tub backed up. The tv remote quit. The rooms were not what anyone would call "suite" sized. Next the free continental breakfast. Something resembling... more
