Hotel was lovely and clean, rooms are a good standard - although not the best that we have been in while holidaying in Sharm.
The food takes a bit of getting used to - mainly catering for the Italian guest's and does get a bit tiresome.
The all inclusive refreshments are an acquired taste to- soft drinks very syrupy - stick to the Fanta orange and you are okay. The vodka tastes a bit like petrol but the local Stella - nothing like ours is okay apart from being a bit gassy.
The entertainment for us British is non existent - they have an entertainment team called Sea Club who run the kids club, activities and entertainment, about 10 rep's all Italian and if you are not Italian they do not want to know.
The staff in general are quite helpful on the whole and all seem to speak Italian, the only problem we had was with the reception staff who do not speak a lot of English and are not willing to do much - even exchange money.
The free courtesy bus to Naama Bay - it takes about 20 mins from the hotel and it drops you off at the Hilton hotel from which you are expected to walk for about a mile and a half until you get into the centre of Naama Bay and collects you an hour and a half later.
The hotel is quite isolated and there is nothing in easy reach, the have some shops - one of which sells British sweets but they are really expensive.
We also had a late flight out and asked to extend the room after the noon checkout time - we were told to take the cases up to reception at 12 and they would give us another room (at the charge of £20.00) to shower in later, the room was right next door to the one that we were in so why humph the luggage up the stairs?

My husband & I, and our 8 year old daughter had a fantastic time at the Nubian Village, and simply fail to understand why people are complaining, we spoke to numerous different parties from England, Ireland, Wales, & Scotland and all agreed with us that the hotel was great.
Visa's. We didn't get our visas (£10 each) on entering - which we didn't need anyway, as we were not planning leaving Sharm. At the airport go to the right, straight to the passport control booths.
Accommodation:
Our lovely room was in the main block, on the 2nd floor which had amazing views of the pool area and of the sea, the sun arrived on our balcony at 6.30am and then again at 4pm til sundown, the room was well equipped, with plenty of wardrobe space, & drawer space any problems we encountered, e.g.:- bulb going out in the loo, T.V not working, patio door jamming ( lucky white heather!) were quickly remedied by having a word with the man that attended to the cleaning of the room, the only downside is the bathroom was a tad scabby & could do with being tarted up, though very clean!
Hint, remove your key from the fob & keep the fob it in the power slot behind the door, then you can keep the AIR con on all the time to return to a nice cool room, you'll need it, and didn't see any bugs!
Food:
The choice for breakfast was great, the chef cooked any omlette of your choice, cooked you fried eggs to your order & crêpes were also cooked at your request, and as many as you wanted, also on offer was Italian breads, cheeses, rolls, meat, cereal, yoghurt, and also hot stuff, e.g. boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and so on. Lunch was fab, the chef cooked 2 different types of fresh pasta by request and added in mushrooms, peppers, garlic, tomatoes if you wanted, the soup was also good, and the choice of hot food & salad was a plenty. Though drink were served at a bar which you had to queue. Dinner, was as good as lunch, there was always a roast, and stews, the cakes were amazing & covered by large dome shaped glass dishes to keep them fresh.
Evening entertainment:
Pretty not much doing here, though the guy playing the organ did his best, (usually trying to fend off unruly children whose parents obviously didn't care what they got up to, may I add that they were all British children!)
The Management did come round the poolside & ask what could be improved, around the hotel & the majority of the people we spoke to mentioned the lack of evening entertainment & the very next night, in the lobby we had the Twirling Dervish, who was great & a belly dancer, so hopefully things will improve.
Drinks:
You can get diet coke here, it is served by the glass from a bottle, the beer is also good & the red wine is fine for lunch & dinner.
Overall:
The pool was roasting hot and the sea was even hotter, you must buy a snorkel set (£15)and try snorkeling off the jetty, I am usually such woose, but tried it and it was totally amazing, the fish at the end of the jetty are better than any fish you will see on any of the boat trips, My husband smuggled some bread and fed the fish and there were millions surrounding him, if your too scared to try that, at the beach around 3.30pm the tide is in and it is about 3 foot, the fish are also amazing here. Though warning my daughter was injured by a sea urchin which pierced her toe, even through her safety shoes, (sorted by the in-house Doctor for £2) so be careful at the rocks & corals.
Taxis: please do not get in the blue & white taxi's, they are all nutters & the seat belts don't work, they are covered in diesel the hotel runs a free mini bus & offers Limousine service (£6) each way - which is an Air con taxi which are friendly & reliable.
Tummy Bug, both my daughter & I were unfortunate to catch a tummy bug, soon remedied with green tablets & yellow tablets (£7) from any Pharmacy in Naama Bay, don't suffer with this get medicine A.S.A.P and don't let it spoil your holiday.
Hard Rock Cafe
You must go here, though go early we went at 6.30pm and it was just starting to get busy, we order 3 meals & 2 rounds of drinks all for £20, and its good fun!
The Red Sea boat trip is a great day out around £70, including, 3 snorkel stops and a fabby Alex’s his crew are great fun. Warning, the area at the loos can be very slippery, I saw a stingray & there are hundreds of Nemo's
Airport duty free is chaos, everything is priced in dollars, no-where to sit, go straight through to the gate, once you’re ready as seats are a plenty, you don't have to wait until your flight is shown on the screen, the two entrances to the gates take you to the same place so it doesn't matter which one you use.
I hope I haven't prattled on too much & wish you all fantastic holiday at the Nubien Village.

This hotel is an excuse for a 4* would not recommend putting a dog in it let alone a family. I have stayed in better 3* in the world & the 1st rep we had thought everything was a joke.
Food
Cold no variety sloppy scrambled egg, hard part cooked potatoes fine if you like pasta, salad that has had flies all over it & greasy, cold chips & cold pizza Desserts were not covered making it a feast for the flies.
Entertainment
What? A bloke on a keyboard that didn't know half the words to the songs he was attempting to sing. No kids entertainment unless they can speak fluent Italian.
Cleanliness
Fag dimps all over the place beer bottles left at the pool for hours on end (3-5) a kid had an accident in the pool & it was still floating several hours later.
Maintenance
Bulbs hanging in stairwells on 2 bare wires, block paving incomplete that I fell down injuring myself, chairs with nails sticking out of them ruining a dress, 3rd bed in our room knocked together with 3x2 planks & nails what a shambles!
Staff
Extremely friendly bar & restaurant staff very funny pool bloke wanted money but did not oblige as he asked for it. Chamber bloke really nice & made animal shapes out of towels we did tip him as he was really friendly, polite & obliging.
All the holiday makers that were there when we were complained on mass to the rep, she ended up getting her managers in the next day, things improved for a day or so then went back to worse than before so I re-complained saying I wanted either a different hotel or a flight home.
As advised at the welcome meeting you will be ill (sickness, diarrhea, stomach cramps) & most of the English guests were & the hotel doctor was ripping the guests off by charging different for the same medication.

Amazing from start to finish!
Beware of the very helpful (not) blokes at the airport who will grab your suitcase off you happened to my better half... cost him £5, who then proceeded to lead us all over the airport car park to a minibus with a dodgy roof rack we wondered if we would ever see cases again. Go by taxi much cheaper if you don't have transfers.
We arrived late at the hotel and thought we were being given the rough end of the deal until we went through the lobby and then it was WOW, WOW, WOW!
We were guided to our bungalow set in the most amazing setting like a small village but very high class. The porter seemed delighted with the very small tip £2. The bungalow boasted a gigantic double bed which was so comfortable in a large room off from the hall way. There was another bedroom with twin beds in it and both had full air conditioning and a fridge in hall way stocked with ice and water. The room had a safety deposit box with electronic keypad where you input your own unique code. The bathroom had a separate toilet area and a huge shower with hair dryers and lovely soaps/shampoo and fluffy towels.
The private beach with jetty was amazing, there were fish of so many different colours you didn't even have to get in the water to see them on the reef. We did go snorkeling every day on that reef as the array of different fish was just like putting your face into an aquarium. True the pools were cold but refreshing and the Italians, Russians and everyone else were great fun language was mostly English but we didn't need to use much else as everyone was game for a laugh!
Please say hello to George and Benjamin if you see them at the shops, you will find George in the carpet shop and filling lots of little bottles with sand sculptures which we came home with a suitcase full of. He loves to help the kids create their own sculptures and often won't take a penny from you letting them keep them.
The food was so delicious breakfast we could have pancakes cooked to order Danish pastries toast cereal you name it they had it... At the beach bars you could have free Danish pastries all day and night if you wished, free slush puppies for the kids free non-alcoholic cocktails which my girls loved.
We were exhausted by all the snorkeling we didn't sample the entertainment in the evening but we heard it was fab.
Excursions do by all means take the Almeria 3 boat trip on the ancient pirate ship the meal was lovely the snorkelling devine we even saw wild dolphins and got to play at the classic titanic pose on the bow of the ship.
Don't take the Jeep Safari as it was a very, very long day and equally cramped and the coloured canyon a nightmare to navigate more like an adventure assault course.
For the event of a lifetime we organised ourselves to swim with captive dolphins at Dolphinella. Once we had seen the show, we organised to come back and swim with them. The price was £140 for 4 of us to spend 15 mins each with a named dolphin. It was money well spent our dolphin sang to us and pulled us around the pool and posed for pictures and generally made our holiday complete. The dolphins are very well cared for and their trainers spoke excellent English.
We most certainly will be back again soon!
This was a hotel that lived up to its five stars in my book, if you can stay there!

Just come back from Nubian village and had a very enjoyable holiday. couldn’t fault the hotel or staff for anything (other than the lack of entertainment).
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful at all times, particularly when you tip them! (Take a pile of £1or£2 coins with you for this, it saves trying to change money and they're happy with this) tip the pool guy and cleaner the first day and you'll be sorted all holiday!
The food was mostly continental (pasta's & salads) but there was always a choice of meat and some form of potatoes in case. The so called 'Stella' lager was okay if cold but a touch on the 'gassy' side as my wife informed after listening to me trumpeting all night, it also caused a few stomach upsets amongst the welsh 'taffia.'!
As i touched on earlier, the entertainment was poor in the evening and if I’d had to listen to that guy 'playing with his organ' one more time, I’m sure I would have throttled him.
The daytime entertainment was by the bottom pool and carried out by the Italian staff, was a good laugh if you wanted to join in even if it was a touch noisy. Overall my wife and I enjoyed ourselves and thought the hotel was good value for money and would definitely consider going back.

On arrival at Nubian Village the hotel only had one room booked for us and we had 2 rooms booked, luckily I had the booking confirmation on me and this was quickly sorted out, it was inconvenient though as we have a 7 year old and a 2 year old and it was 11pm and we just wanted to get to bed.
The hotel is lovely and the service from all the staff was fantastic, a good tip is to go around tipping all of the staff when you get there, it makes a massive difference to the service they give you, we came to Egypt in Jan and did not tip an the beginning of the week and you can really tell.
The food was amazing, buffet style but it was always piping hot and the kids could always find something they loved. Out of six of us one person had a slightly dodgy tum one day but it was nothing as it did not stop her from going out.
Now for the negatives.
This hotel is five mins from the airport and it took one and a half ours by transfer due to dropping others off, the buses all drop off in Naama Bay firs and then have to go back past the airport to go to Nabq Bay. I recommend jumping in one of the blue and white taxis which you can get for £5-£10 pounds to save the hassle. We booked a Taxi for our return journey from the hotel and it cost £4.50, well worth it.
The beach and snorkeling are fantastic, however there is no beach bar as advertised, there are loads of steps down to the beach and if you want a drink you have to go back to the pool bar. In 45c heat this felt like a major trek.
And finally my biggest complaint was the entertainment, as in there wasn't any. This hotel caters pretty much 100% for the Italians, my children waited until 9.30pm for the kids mini disco and the entertainment staff only spoke in Italian to Italian children, the British children(which there were quite a lot of) were totally excluded and most of the songs were in Italian. After that there was Italian Bingo, fair play to them they did say the numbers in Italian and English but the conversation was in Italian so you did not know if you were playing for a line of a house or what.
In the lobby bar there was not even any music let alone the one man and his keyboard I had heard about in other reviews, he must have been on holiday. I also found the Italians very rude and arrogant, I have been all over the world and to Egypt before but this was by far the worst entertainment wise, you would not think it would make that much of a difference but it does and there was nothing to do and this hotel is set in its own grounds and there is nowhere else to go, my children were bored to tears of an evening.
I love Egypt and it is probably one of my favorite destinations, but I would not go to this hotel again.

Egypt is fantastic, would go back but not to same place.
Hotel very clean and nice can not fault that. Is probably a 4star because of facilities not its services, entertainment or food.
However arrived after a night flight, to ask in reception if we could get some food, anything as were hungry. They said no. Eventually after complaining, we did get some dry bread and stale croissants.
Next day arrived for breakfast - was fine, just same old thing every day, however not pleased that you had to pay for the fruit juice - esp. as was all inclusive holiday. As we had breakfast early about 11 were hungry for a snack - however we were informed no snacks, expect the dry croissants that were at bar, that remained there all week!!! Lunch was ok; food was not English, more Russian, mixed rice and meat etc. With yet more bread! Again no snacks from inbetween meals except croissants. On the med hotels advert its says all inclusive, inc ice creams. When I challenged them they said no ice creams are not part of the all inclusive.
As there was no shop within walking distance, to but a ice cream, pack of crisps etc in between meals we had nothing, which is fine you are not a fussy eater and can fill up at meals. On day 5 I spotted a Russian collecting a pack of crisps from bar, after a large argument, it became clear the Russians had access to the all inclusive but the brits did not.
Even worse my partner was very sick and we spoke to other brits in the hotel who also were unhappy with the food.
Food overall - Not 4 star, more 2 + not good for children or fussy eaters and no snacks for the brits.
Food in centre really really cheap and much nicer would not say AI in Egypt but prop HB
Entertainment - a man on keyboard singing slow, weary foreign songs.
Distance from Centre - 20 mins £8-10 taxi journey, one of the furthest hotels away from centre, so turned out to be expensive holiday as we had to got to centre every day to eat and seek entertainment!
Hotel nearly ruined holiday, but do go to Egypt!

We booked our holiday via the internet with Fleetway travel. The tour operators were at the airport to meet us and a holiday representative was contactable 24 hrs a day during our stay. Stayed at the Nubian Island Hotel in March 2006 and would certainly recommend this hotel for couples and young families.
The place is really pretty and clean. We stayed in a bungalow which was very spacious. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure a relaxed holiday. The service is excellent. Rooms are cleaned and towels are changed every day. Fresh beach towels are also available every day so you wont need to take towels with you. The food for all inclusive is good, plenty of pastas and fresh vegetables.
The snorkeling is fantastic with colourful coral and fish, take your own snorkeling gear if you can also I would recommend taking some shoes to wear in the sea because the coral is sharp. A free courtesy bus runs from the hotel 3 times a day to Naama Bay, only problem we found was which way to go when the bus dropped us off so just cross over the road and go through the Hilton hotel as it leads to the beach and the town centre.
The hotel is very quiet at night so if you want loud music you will have to take a visit Naama Bay. The hotel bus and taxis are available at night for a small charge. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would certainly recommend this hotel.

Just arrived back from Nubian Village, and thought we should add some comments.
We were in the Island resort which is the newer one, and we really couldn't complain about anything.
The bungalow was very spacious and clean, with a cleaner who visited twice a day to clean and change towels in the evening.
Everywhere was spotless, lovely stream flowing through the village, very, very picturesque.
Food was good, nothing fantastic, but we were never short of a good choice, all well prepared.
All inclusive drinks very nice. Good red wine, nice bottled beer, good range of coffees, even the ice cream and crisps from the poolside bar were free.
Staff all generally helpful, although as stated elsewhere, it is predominantly Italian and Russian, so not all speak good English, but there was always help on hand from somebody who could.
All in all, a lovely, quite peaceful place to go. If you want evening activity, you need to get the free bus into Naama Bay.

Just arrived back after staying at Nubian Village Hotel for a week on an all inclusive package. The hotel and its facilities were excellent. Everywhere was so clean. The Entertainment was mainly geared towards the Italians but that did not stop us Brits from having a good time.
The Food Hall always put on a variety of different dishes and I never once found nothing that I wouldn't eat. All the staff are so friendly and helpful if you have any questions, they go out of their way to help you wherever they can.
Looking forward to going back for a fortnight in September 2006.

Stayed in Nubian island hotel had a beautiful bungalow with two rooms the gardens and stream which ran through the village were very pretty. The cleanliness of the place pools restaurant etc were faultless .The food was good and always plenty of it. The staff were very friendly and went out of way to speak to you.
Entertainment was mostly Italian although the musicals they put on were very professional. The free bus to Naama bay was very good and very reliable. Would definitely go back to this hotel.

On arrival we given a welcome drink they take your suit cases to your room we were in a bungalow at the bottom end of the hotel pool view we right near the beach. Our rooms bungalow was very spacious there were two adults and my two children age 11 and 14. The main room had air con and the girls bedroom also had air con the bathroom had walk in shower and separate toilet.
Don’t take toilet stuff as they provide shower gel shampoo and soap. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels and linen if you tip the maid put 1 English pound under pillow and he will look after you.
The restaurant was lovely food excellent and the staff, especially Ramy who was kind helpful polite and always smiling also the restaurant manager Mohamed he always was helpful and joined in even in the evening when we were in the bar. Bar staff good especially Amadeus and Michel if you tip them they bring you drinks all night. Also Shaban he cleaned the toilets and ash trays they were always clean.
I recommend you take English money as the prefer this in Egypt they also are going to open an English bar we have seen this and its due to be opened. Thanks to all the staff of the Nubian island 10/10 we have booked to go xmas and next summer thank you Ramy and Mohamed we love you.
