Sep 2010, green slippers

Just had a week at the Majestic Palace Hotel and was very pleased with the accommodation. The rooms were exceptionally big, very clean and well appointed - clean towels every day, sheets changed regularly, sky tv and complementary green slippers!
The staff were very accommodating and the restaurant was very well run and organised. The food was also very good.

  • Advice: quite a walk to the main town.

We have just returned from a week at the Majestic Palace and were very pleased all round with the hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the rooms were very spacious and clean and the food was excellent and so much choice! We would definitely go back there again.

I have visited Italy from Sestrieres...

Nov 2007, R D King

I have visited Italy from Sestrieres in the North to Palermo in the South, including Sorrento, on a regular basis over the last 50 years, but I cannot find words to praise the Majestic Palace Hotel highly enough.
The location was tranquil, the staff courteous and helpful and the food nothing short of magnificent. The musical entertainment provided during the meals on some evenings and the candle lit procession of the waiters with cakes on the banquet evening was pure theatrical spettacolo at its best.
Of the excellent staff, I would single out the waiter Giuseppe and Roberta at reception for particular praise. Nothing was too much trouble.
The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The only problems were that, being on the ground floor, there was no view, and there was occasionally a bit of an odour, I think from the drains. I drew this to the attention of the staff and they did what they could about it.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and shall most certainly return, hopefully next year.
The hotel is in St Agnello, about half an hour's stroll from Sorrento proper, or a quarter of an hour on one of the frequent buses. It is no hardship getting there.
If visitors want to visit the excavations at Pompeii or Herculaneum, the train journey is convenient and comfortable.

We chose the Hotel Majestic Palace...
8 / 10
Oct 2007, Mrs T. Nicoll

We chose the Hotel Majestic Palace for our honeymoon and I cannot praise the hotel or staff more. We had paid for a superior room which lived up to all our expectations offering us a gorgeous view over the lemon groves and the hills of Sorrento beyond.
The staff were a fantastic example of excellence in customer service. We arrived late and the hotel arranged a meal to be in the room ready for our arrival. The restaurant staff were very professional and bent over backwards to assist. Our waiter Giuseppe was brilliant, tending to our every need and making us feel so welcome and at home.
The hotel put on a Neapolitan night with local dishes, local live music and the staff dressed up in traditional folk dress. This was excellent and got everyone in the spirit of the area and learning the songs!
The weekly gala dinner was amazing. Every night the food was first class.

Sorrento, what can you say about this...

Sorrento, what can you say about this gem of a resort?
The images the name conjures in your mind quickly become reality when you step off the coach, in our case at the hotel Majestic Palace.
The hotel was well placed with friendly staff who certainly aim to please and all of whom spoke excellent English.
The rooms were smaller than I have become accustomed to in my travels across the European continent, but pleasant all the same.
The food was of a high standard, the service top class and you are made to feel at home. In summing up, the hotel is of a good quality and this reviewer recommended.
Not too far away is the centre of Sorrento, about 15 min walk, which has an abundance of places to eat and drink although prices vary dramatically
Sorrento, the real gem in Italy’s jewel box; Vesuvius, the sleeping giant towering majestically over the Bay of Naples that laid waste to Pompeii and Herculanium. The Beautiful Isle of Capri jutting out from the Mar Tirreno (as it’s called in Italy) that can be seen from any part of Sorrento close to the sea.
Then there is the stunning Amalfi coast, the most breathtaking scenery you will probably see, so stunning we did it twice but the high cliffs are not for the faint hearted.
You should not miss the chance to visit Naples itself, although I would recommend taking the hydrofoil. We took the train, it took 1.5 hrs each way, the hydrofoil is a lot quicker.
The home of pizza, visit the thieves market, the opera house and for lovers of White Knuckle rides, take a taxi across the city.
A great place to holiday, but not to rest.

The Majestic Palace is isituated in St Agnello,a small town just a mile or so from Sorrento.
It is in a quiet location overlooking orange groves, but within easy reach of the main street.
The hotel is comfortable and clean. It is smartly furnished if not plush. The hotel staff are friendly and helpfull.
outside to the front is the swimming pool.
The rail station is accessable on foot and from there you can go to Naples, Sorrento or Pompei.
The Majestic Palace is a good place to relax.

Apr 2004, Ms J.F Mackie

A simple, but comfortable, clean and attractive hotel situated in St Agnello, a town on the outskirts of Sorrento. There are easy train links to both Naples and Sorrento.
The Hotel has a small swimming pool to the front and has orange groves to the rear.
The restaurant is a bit pricey, but there is an excellent small restaurant, Restaurant Crawford just up the road.
Breakfast a bit disappointing.
The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Overall a good place to stay.
