The hotel was fine, it was clean and had friendly staff, there was a decent pool area for the kiddies. It did have very uncomfortable beds but I suppose this is a personal matter of taste. The breakfasts were very bland and we bought breakfast for very little in the many restaurants a short distance away.
It is on the corner of quite a busy junction which could be a little hazardous to cross at busy times of the day.
The beach is long and sandy as described in the brochures but the parts opposite the hotel were strewn with rubbish and the Greek tourists who all smoke on the beach just buried their discarded ends in the sand.
We had chosen Tolon as it was described as 'family friendly' but were very disappointed in it. Here goes, the village (town more like it) has a one way system for traffic that the locals take no notice of at all and this road winds its way along the bottom of the village and then loops around the top. The pavement was unfinished in many places and there were trees and street lighting in the middle it it at regular intervals this meant that we had to dice with death with our 18 month old daughters pushchair and brave the main road. The restaurants mainly opened onto the road which made eating with a lively toddler a little unnerving, it would have been a lot easier if any of them had a high chair but they didn't.
Tolon is itself not very attractive place and isn't very 'Greek' if you want that authentic feeling although the views from the rather disappointing and over priced restaurants was nice.
My recommendation would be to skip Tolon and stay in Napflion a fantastic old Venetian style town a few miles away, it is a real Greek town and has lots of good restaurants and has far more to do in an evening that dice with death in Tolon.
Overall, the least enjoyable holiday we have had and I don't think we will bother going back to Greece again, sad as we have had many good holidays all over Greece in the past.

What a brilliant holiday. The Hotel was first class, staff very friendly especially Katie on the breakfast/bar. The self serve breakfast very good by Greek standards.
Rooms adequate and very clean as was the whole hotel. A little noise from the road but this did not spoil our holiday.
Do eat at Chez Gilles on main street and Romvii Taverna on the beach, but we did not have a bad meal the whole 2 weeks.
Easy to visit Naplion on the local bus, and worth seeing, but other trips are better done organised Corinth Canal a definite together with Epidavros Theatre.
Kosmar had only one rep in the whole resort but thankfully we did not need her. Would certainly recommend Tolon.

Our stay at the Esperia was very good. The rooms were cleaned daily and the towels and bedding changed twice a week also there was always plenty of hot water for showers not always available in Greece.
The breakfasts had a good choice. The hotel is just across the road to the beach at the sand dunes end of the resort, the only bad part being a 10 minute walk into the resort.
Lots of interesting trips to go on.
All in all a nice resort with lots of good restaurants, a lot of which are on the beach.
The resort gets busy at weekends as it is only 2 hours away from Athens!

The Hotel Esperia at Tolon is a great base from which to explore the rich history of this area: Argos, Mycanae, Nemea, Nafplion, Epidavros, Corinth and much more. The hotel is well run, very clean and comfortable.
We stayed on a B/B basis. The breakfast is fairly limited and repetitive. It could easily be improved by the addition of fresh and dried fruit, honey for the yoghurt and sliced bread for the toaster. However, there is enough to have a substantial meal. You can order food at other times from the fairly limited bar menu.
The food is well cooked, good value and appears promptly.
The hotel is situated just a few metres from the beach at its widest point. The beach here is sandy and access to the water is over a metre of fine shingle then onto clean flat sand. The water is gently sloping and ideal for children. A very good value hotel. No hesitation to re-visit.

The hotel was opposite the beach about 1 minute away. The Kosmar reps where very nice and friendly, i would highly recommend this resort and hotel.
