Entertainment made it worthwhile

Just returned from here after 2 weeks with familly inc 2 kids. Food was always hot and plenty of choice for all sittings. Rooms where massive compared to all other AI ive been to,with large verandah overlooking the sea,if you could see it with the trees affecting the view. Rooms where cleaned daily.Heard about the so called massive queues for the bars before we arrived. There where queues but it didnt take long to get served as there where usually 3 working behind the bar at any one time. The swimming pool was large enough for the size of the hotel, with 3 separate sections and clearly marked shallow end for the younger ones .Be warned you will have to get up at around 4 in the morning to get a decent sunbed!!!!!! You have to "play the game".The entertainment in the afternoon and in particular at night was brillint for the kids!!Big thanks to Rich,Annie,AJ,Mark,Leah and Dan!!!!And to Hannah for the swimming lessons for my daughter. You MUST go AI as the prices at the bar & restaurant are a bit pricey. All in all a fantastic resort for the family.....especially if you want a decent sunbed. Remember you have to "play the game!"

Been to Seaview every year for last 10+ years and am sad to say that this year we were very disappointed. All Inclusive has ruined what was a lovely 4* hotel. We had already booked to go back in August but had we known what to expect we wouldn't have bothered! Untold amount of queues for everything. No evening table waiter service outside anymore which means a couple of you having to queue up to half hour to get a drink. Food in restaurant OK but would not use it if on self catering. Some of the food cold and childrens choice very limited. Bar staff (English mainly) very ignorant, Spanish much more friendly. Hoping the adult evening entertainment better in August than it was in May - too many games and not enough shows!
Kids love it there, disappear all day and night just coming back to eat and sleep - very safe complex
Would love hotel to lose the All Inclusive aspect but know it has to compete with all other hotels - shame!

Good Hotel - be realistic about your expectations

Okay, I agree that this Hotel is not a 4* hotel in every aspect but I suspect that most people who have written negative comments didn't pay 4* prices either!!!!!! I have just returned from a week’s holiday with my husband & 16 month old daughter and overall we had a great holiday. The hotel should realistically be rated 3* (possibly 3* +) & I would be surprised if this reamin a 4* hotel in future seasons.
Hotel - very impressive looking hotel on arrival. We booked a one bedroom apt which was very clean & more than adequate for what needed. We had a sea view and agree with other reviews, this was very impressive (didn't have to pay additional charge, this was requested by our tour operator & we got it). We booked AI but still had SC facilities which was an absolute bonus with a 16 month old as far as I’m concerned. Rooms could probably do with upgrading slightly to maintain the 4* rating.
Food - Maybe the hotel has learnt / is improving following their switch to AI. The food wasn't excellent but was of good standard however agree that it wasn't 4* standard. For every meal on every day of our holiday there was plenty of selection, grilled meats / fish / hot buffet style food / fresh mini baguettes & ciabatta bread / salad / a great selection of fresh fruit / ice creams / selection of cakes / puddings etc etc.). I found the children’s selection very limited but there was always something my daughter could eat (she can be fussy at times). There were queues but if people all choose to dine at the same time this is hardly the hotels fault & also they had notices up to let people know the busy times so you do have a choice!!!! The food was labelled on one side of the server but at busy times they opened up the second side however this wasn't labelled. Okay not great but again something they can improve on.
Drink - the usual drinks were available on the AI package & although some spirits do taste like rocket fuel this is the norm for AI as far as I’m concerned. The red wine was actually the most palatable I have tasted on AI in a long time. The lager/ shandy was most refreshing late afternoon & no different at any of the hotel bars.
Hotel Pool - huge swimming pool split into 3 main sections & then a baby / toddler pool. Lovely, however, management have decided that no inflatables (other than arm bands) & yes this includes the baby seats are allowed in the main pool!! Nightmare as this meant that older children who had bought inflatables and then discovered they couldn't use them in the main pool all came to the small baby / toddler pool which meant that the pool had more inflatable toys in it than children at some points throughout the day. This also meant it was too busy for some smaller children at certain times of the day. This will be an absolute nightmare in peak season as far as I am concerned. I also think that the reps should inform their customers of this at the welcome meeting, they did not and people went out and bought inflatables the children could not really use. I don't think it would be any hardship if the hotel allowed inflatables in one of the 3 main sections; the pool is more than big enough!!!
Entertainment – there was plenty of entertainment throughout the day / night. There was a full 7 day / night entertainment programme during our stay which is more than you get at some hotels (they also showed all world cup games for anyone interested) I can’t understand why people go to an AI hotel of this nature (family orientated) if they don’t like this type of entertainment / set up!! The children’s disco / entertainment (shades & dizzy are so cute) was brilliant & although my little girl was a little bit too young to fully appreciate it she still enjoyed it as did mum & dad.
Don’t be put off by the negative reviews, you get what you pay for and as with any AI package deals some of it is good & some of it isn’t so good.

Having been to this hotel 4 times before, we knew it was a nice clean hotel with plenty to do. However, we decided to return this year and were disappointed. The hotel needs doing up, the pool floor is peeling and sharp in places, the rooms are looking tired and we found it hard trying to find a clean chair to sit on in the dining room.
We decided to try AI this time, and found it somewhat selective, rules were constantly being changed as AI only started this season, the hotel could not cope when the busy season kicked off. Queues for food and drink were long, dispensing machines ran out quickly, and the cleanliness of the dining room and the food on offer were not that expected of a 4star hotel. Food was cold, bland and not very appealing at all.
WE travelled with our 2yr old grandaughter who loved Dizzy and Shades during the kids disco each night, but apart from that, we cant think of anything else possitive to say about the Sea View hotel. Needless to say, we wont be returning there in the future!
Oh by the way, it costs 6 euro's per sunbed or parasol on the beach now, so if you are travelling as a family it can be expensive, no wonder so many people stayed by the pool. Definately should not be rated as a 4 star hotel any longer, it is more like 3 star sadly.

Queues for everything

This hotel came highly recommended from a number of people. On arrival after a very early flight we had to queue for up to 1 hour to check in. Throughout our stay we had to queue for reception, snack bar and bars. There was at least 14 people queing at any given time of the day at the snack bar. At the resturant we had to clear our plates onto another table to give us room for are different courses, this was at every serving. The bar staff were generally unfriendly and on a number of occasions we had to clear tables in the bar to sit at. The entertainment at night was very poor. However the kidsclub and kids disco were great. Overall I do not think this hotel rates as four star and I would not book again.

I stopped at the seaview hotel in may 2010 with my partner and my 1 yeah old little boy. We went all inclusive and really glad we did as the hotel is really expensive. The hotel was really nice and very clean however the all inclusive package didnt include childrens soft drinks or ice lollys which i was really disapointed in. The entertainment during the day and on a night for kids was great. I would go back again.

I have been going to the seaview every year since my son was 2 he is now 15 and we have loved it every time. It is very clean friendly and if you need anything they are only happy to help. There is lots for children and if you don't want to stay in the hotel there are plenty of bars with crazy golf, the bull or soft play areas for small children. the beech is accross the road with a boat that takes you into the town.my mother has also been 9 times and she also really likes it,we always compare other places with here and alwasy end up going back. I would recomend going all inclusive because the euro now is expensive for drinks etc and also a pool view is fabulous as its all lit up at night and nice for a drink on the balcony especialy if in a studio. The reps try hard to entertain which suits the children.

have been going to this hotel for 9 years now and i must admit it has gone down hill. rooms need a good overhaul as do the hallways, carpet very dirty and flawed.didnt book for 2010 as i think it is getting a bit over priced. would bring it down to a 3star.need new equipment in kitchen.

Very nice hotel, a true 4 stars, fantastic location next to the sea as the name suggests, nice rooms, nice clean pool, all very clean, Thomas Cook entertainment team really good and put lots of effort into making the holiday, childrens entertainers especially good, not sure if they will be their in 2010 as the hotel is going all inclusive.
Food was reasonable, could be a bit warmer from the buffet, overall though a great place to stay and a very nice resort.
