Sep 2008, Mr J Kirkpatrick

Hotel was clean and tidy. we went out of season lots of maintenance work but didn't intrude on the holiday. pools were fab, clean and warm. no clocks around area so definitely had to switch off and depend on own body clock. food was good and didn't go hungry. drinks kept flowing but beware they are a lot stronger than uk's.
all the staff attached to the hotel from the bell boy to the management were immaculate and very friendly at any time of the day.
we felt very safe walking around the surrounding area and lots of buses and taxi's were available to take us anywhere.
overall we would recommend this holiday to both families and couples as the resort caters for all.

What a wonderful holiday my partner...

What a wonderful holiday my partner and i had!
It was our first time to Mexico and it was our best holiday yet. We had heard some bad reports on the Cancun side of Mexico, which is why we chose this side (pacific ocean side) of Mexico. It was glorious. Be prepared to see the true Mexico, which is exactly what we wanted to see.
Could not fault the Hotel, very clean, excellent choice of food. Spacious room. Beautiful beach, from our room to the beach took 30 seconds!! Plenty of tours to go on that we booked once there outside First CHoice and our Hotel which where great. But we knew people that were more than content in staying in the Hotel for the whole 2 weeks. The actual town of Puerto Vallarta was lovely too. We felt very safe.
Would totaly recommend this to anyone. We will be going back in a couple of years time.

The most relaxing holiday we have...

Dec 2006, Mrs W J Harrison

The most relaxing holiday we have had, didn’t want to come home.
The staff were wonderful. I’m a fussy eater but even I had no complaints, there was something for everybody.
The rooms were large and the air conditioning was a god send as its very humid.
The standard overall was great will definitely be going back soon. Oh one last thing look out for Leo in the beach bar he is great and looks after you!

What a fantastic hotel, staff, facilities, room, food all brilliant. Our room was lovely really spacious and clean, the maid was very friendly and did a really good job.
The hotel complex was great really well laid out with lovely pools and a great entertainment team who worked really hard and were great fun. The choice of restaurants was good with plenty of variety.
As for the beach it was stunning, I can highly recommend going to this part of Mexico. The outbound flight was a bit of a pain but we soon got over it on arriving at the hotel. We booked a very late deal and it was allocation on arrival but we hit gold.

The hotel is one of a group of three...

Nov 2003, Mr Ian Bowns

The hotel is one of a group of three hotels some 26km north of Puerto Vallarta, located in a small traditional Mexican town of Buccerias.
The hotel offers four bars, a disco, life nightly entertainment and six restaurants ranging from traditional Mexican fare to a steakhouse, Japanese and Italian. On the whole the food is very good with a large choice. The rooms are decorated in traditional Mexican style and are large and airy. Daily maid service is available and clean towels and bed linen is supplied on a daily basis. The staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The local bus service is a must to use, it is very cheap to get into Puerto Vallarta which offers very good shopping, good restaurants and bars and if you are lucky see some famous American movies stars as some of them own property in the town. Recommended is go and see Elizabeth Taylor’s and Richard Burton’s houses which are in the town, the house is now a B&B but for $8-$10US a guided tour is available. The inside is left exactly how Taylor and Burton left it, complete with movie posters and children’s toys etc.
The filmmaker John Houston owned a strip of land across the bay from Puerto Vallarta, which is only accessible by sea, during the day there is a tour available where one can relax with massages and pampering, scuba diving and snorkelling or just doing nothing at all. At night the area comes alive with dancing and a live show.
There are many excursions to be done including Eco tours diving, and a visit to a remote village by plane. A trip to Tequila and Guadalajara is well worth it.
Overall the hotel and resort is very good value for money. Once visited you will certainly go back for more.

I travelled to Mexico last year and...

Jun 2003, Not Specified

I travelled to Mexico last year and stayed at the Royal Cameron / Flamingos All inclusive hotel at Puerto Vallarta. I travel with first choice.
This is my first holiday review, so I’m not sure how to do it, so i’ll just do it in my own little way.
The Flight:
Well, it was a 14 hour flight, with a stop to refuel in the Dominican Republic. We had pre booked our seats to ensure that we sat together, but found out that all the prebooked seats have a rather poor view of the mediocre in flight movies. Anyway, the plane was cramped and the first choice staff were your typical trolley dollies with fake smiles and all. The food on the flight was terrible.
Arrival at the airport:
Mexico isn’t too friendly in the airport, you’re eyed with suspicion as soon as you touch down. Everyone on the flight had to have their suitcases searched for meat & dairy products. I think it was something to do with BSE or something. I and many other people felt uncomfortable having our cases searched, I was even split up from my g/f during this process, as when you got through security each person is designated a random search table. This Leeds to a lot of confusion when asked for your passport and your other half has it in her bag. Once you survive this you’ll have to fight of the porters who are determined to take your cases for you, and then expect a tip.
Speaking of tips, its a very good idea to have several 1 dollar bills in your wallet, have around 10 and you can use them as tips when needed.
The Hotel:
I was thinking that it was going to be "one of them" holidays, but when we arrived at the hotel things started to look up. We were greeted buy friendly staff who served us refreshing cool drinks while we waited to sign in. Afterwards we were escorted to our room. The room was nice and spacious with all the Mexican TV channels you could want! The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was huge! The rest of the hotel was also very nice, well decorated with immaculate gardens and very friendly and chatty staff. There were 6 restaurants to choose to each from, ranging from Japanese, Italian, Mexican and steakhouses. Very nice! There was also 6 or more bars, which in our case was even better. We managed to work our way through the hotels cocktail list (50 cocktails) several times over, much fun to be had there!.
There were 4 swimming pools at the complex, 3 for anyone and the largest 1 was designated for adults only. Very nice if you want to get away from the noisy splashy kids.
The surrounding area was rather barren and unwelcoming, the beach at the hotel was very nice, until you left the hotel area where it got into a terrible state. The sea was rather rough and murky, but apparently that’s what’s its like for the pacific.
I can’t really comment on the evening entertainment, as we spent all our time at the bars, talking to people we have met. When you book your dinner, you are seated with other people on a table for 4. 8 out of 10 people have a nice time and chat away. Others may have to lump It.
Well before I start blabbing on to much, here’s a brief low down.

Dec 2002, Mr J Bayliss

Let me say firstly that that I have been here twice, once in June 1999, the WET season, and again in December 2002. Fantastic place, great hotel, wonderful location.
The flight is about 14 hours, but you must go with First Choice now as their 767 fleet has been upgraded with 33" seat pitch for the standard class, which is enough for most people. (Just back from Cuba flying First Choice so I KNOW it is good).
The rooms are huge, with 2 large double beds or 1 ginormous bed. TV, air con, 4 person shower (not tried) but you can get tired walking from one side to the other.
Located right on the beach, beach bars (2) plus other bars, all inclusive means just that, as much beer, wine, rum, vodka, TEQUILA and cocktails that you could ever want up to 3.00am in the disco. Very good choice of buffet restaurants with good selection of food and theme nights (Mexican is understandably the best).
December through to March is best time for weather, I hope First Choice offer the winter season 06/07 soon as I want to return in January 2007 to see the Whales in the bay.
Highly recommended, especially if you can get a room in the Tropical section.
