Replace the chef, change the decor & and they'd be onto a winner!
from secondtoughest
Business trip requiring a week's stay and the Village seemed to be the best located hotel with good facilities in the area. This Village doesn't seem to have been re-decorated since its opening approx 10 years ago. It's not shabby, just dated. Decent sized room with a large (32"?) LCD TV with basic Sky channels. The best thing about the room was the fridge, and as it was one of the hottest weeks of the year in this rather pathetic British summer, it was a welcome relief. I was also provided with a fan which was great, considering there...

from gunner42
This is our second stay at this hotel, we can not fault the service that we had, the staff we were the friendlest people that you could meet, anything that you needed they would help you with, day or night, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, we would stay there anytime

Stayed here for one night after our work's Christmas party at the Quality Hotel just over the road and again just after Christmas. Check-in very easy and staff seemed friendly. Free and plentiful, secure parking. Very nice, big rooms, modern and nicely decorated, beds were very large and comfy. Bathroom was spacious with good power shower! Buffet breakfast very good, lots to choose from-full English and/or continental. Restaurant has nice menu for evening meals and there is the Village pub for drinks. While staying here access to...

Dudley less...
from geffel
My better half and I journeyed to the Uk in February of 2006 to attend my older brother's wedding. This took place at the Village, Dudley, in steadfastly grey and miserable English winter drizzle, with a fine view of Dudley castle and zoo. The decor was typical English 1990s motel - lots of muted puce and teal, with some aqua thrown in for good measure. The main bar had a sort of barn/byre/cattle stall thing going on that I couldn't quite put my finger on. it's nice to find booths to sit in in a pub though, so that was good. The...

Disappointing
from Clays
I stayed here on business and after two hours wanted to move to another hotel. Firstly the valance to the bed had not been changed & what looked like drinking chocolate had been spilled down the side of it, also the room had not been hoovered. This was quickly recitified by a visit to reception. The power sockets then did not work & again after complaining this was rectified. Finally the hairdryer cut out after approximately three minutes use & i was informed this is the norm as they over heat...All of this happened within three hours of my...

Great Place To Stay!
from Rikkay
I stay at this hotel on a regular basis with work for a few days at a time and cannot fault it. The staff are friendly and helpful, the leisure facilities excellent and the breakfast as good as I've ever had. The Village Pub always has a very good atmosphere with residents and leisure club members mingling to watch the sport on the plasma TV or take part in the quiz. Hightly recommend it.

The rooms were fine, not the biggest, but reasonable. Trying to get a good nights sleep was another matter. I just couldn't get comfortable in the bed - I know what Goldilocks was on about with the 'your bed is too lumpy' comment. I woke grumpy and tired. I noticed... more
