Britannia Wolverhampton Hotel

Stayed in their hotel in Manchester about a year and a half ago - that one had rather big bugs in the bathroom in room 333 that scrambled to the corners when you entered the room and switched the light on. This one was not much better. Urine stains up the toilet bowl, damp carpet, very cold room, paint peeling off the ceiling, leak from the room above in the bathroom - no idea if it is from the soil pipe from the room above or not but it leaked on the toilet roll in my room and made it soggy. What a hole. Avoid like the plaugue. Dirty old uncomfortable expensive, everything you don't want in a hotel. The Hotel Bar is even worse unless you like drinking in grafiitti ridden urine stenched underpaths.

staying there for 2 days and on the first day ended up in 3 rooms. room 1: The heating was on full and wouldnt turn off - room like a sauna room 2: paid for tv and this wasnt working, complained and got room 3 room 3: if it got any smaller it would be a matchbox, had to walk sideways to get in to the bathroom, im a sportsman so its not due to my size. the room was the opposite of room 2 in that it was freezing cold and only a very thin blanket for the room. the room was very noisy as it was directly opposite a disco that... more

Furnishings,decor and staff outdated. Easter Sunday and Monday bar closed. No mention of this when booking. Carpets and toilets shabby to say the least. Not a great ad for the rest of their chain. Never go back.

The location of the hotel is very good. Just 5 minutes walk from the Wolverhampton Train Station. However, we were given a bad room. There are some pubs nearby and the noise didn't stop until 2am (even worse if there are football matches).
