Arrived in a torrential...

Arrived in a torrential downpour. Had a bit of trouble finding the hotel as was situated just off international drive behind a 7/11. Arrived to a very helpful receptionist and all staff were extremely helpful and happy.
Rooms were basic yet very clean and tidy. Ice, drinks and snack machines situated throughout the hotel.
Breakfast was a great surprise. Expecting bit of cereal and some coffee, we got fresh fruit, cereal, muffins, Danishes, toast, yogurts, juices and much more. Fill up for breakfast, miss lunch and then an all-you-can-eat in the evening!!!
Pool was small but beautiful. Had enough space for around 25people around it. Was never that many as everyone was out all day exploring.
Situated 2-3km from Universal studios and 30-40km from Disney. The amount and variety of restaurants and shopping available was just amazing. Could have stayed for so much longer!

The room we stayed in had black mould running around the roof, the window and door were so ill fitting that I slept with ear plugs, the edge of the carpet obviously never got cleaned.
The room next door to ours had at least 1 cockroach roaming around
The excuse I got from the owners was that they were short of staff due to the hurricanes.
We will never set foot in a Howard Johnson hotel again.

It was brilliant and it was well enjoyable. An ace holiday.
It took 9 hours to get there and the first day it was hot, highly recommended to go to Florida because of the beautiful town and city and the beaches and sun.
