Mainsail Suites Hotel Reviews
" We spent 3 weeks in Tampa, Florida... "
Submitted By: Ms MG Gough
We spent 3 weeks in Tampa, Florida where we stayed in the Mainsail Suites. This was a self catering hotel type of accommodation, which included a fully equipped gym/health club, volleyball and tennis and heated outdoor pool. There was also a Laundromat, shop and bar/ restaurant on site.
We went to a lot of the beaches especially Clearwater beach where we snorkelled and saw all a kind of stripy fish and fancy shells. We also went to Indian Rocks beach where we lit of some fireworks on July 4th. We went down the coast to Sarasota where we saw the most beautiful beach with white fluffy sand.
We also visited Disney worlds Magic Kingdom. We didn’t want to do the whole Disneyland thing so we just went there. The highlight of this was the parade in the evening where all the Disney characters come dancing down the main street. It was also fun when Winnie the Pooh stopped by our table in the restaurant where we were dining.
We also went to Busch Gardens. This is like combined zoo /gardens and roller coaster park and it was absolutely awesome.so we had to go back there again. Adventure Island was somewhere we went on a hot day. Basically a water park. Was good also.
We also rented out a kayak and rowed down the Hillsborough River in Tampa. This was a chance to see Florida wildlife at its best. We saw baby alligators on a log. Some turtles and lots of beautiful birds. It was great except for the bugs and lots of them!! Overall it was a great holiday and I would recommend Florida to anyone.

They also put wet, used towels on a stack of clean towels they had just brought! The DVD player did not work, and there was no hair dryer, even though there was supposed to be. The grounds were very noisy, and the manager promised to comp us for a night--then reneged on his promise! The front desk staff was young, inexperienced, uncaring, and unable to cope. I blame the managers for lack of training.
There are so many nice places in Tampa--go to one of them, then enjoy yourself. Don't make the mistake we did--we had to endure this dump for almost a whole week.
