We booked this hotel as a late deal. There was a mix up with the rooms, they did not have availability for the rooms we had previously booked. So our party of 4 adults and 3 children were put into one family room. The hotel itself is very nice, basic but nice. The pool... more

Very basic hotel. Small rooms. Cleanliness not the best as our towels were rarely changed. Reception staff not very friendly, especially the strange night staff. Breakfast very basic, eggs, cheese, olives, bread. Location the best thing about this hotel, 100 metres from each & nightlife.

turkish delight "Glasgow"
Just arrived back with my husband and grandson from this hotel wouldn,t touch it with a barge pole. Supposed to be on a half board basis but the food was awful, breakfast consisted of boiled egg and bread every day evening meal much worse unless you like chicken and beef most of the time it was cold. Also dont take a bar tab as you will be ripped off big time, getting charged for ice cream and juice you didnt order. The staff were friendly enough and the room was clean well most of the time couple of times had to ask for the cleaner as the room hadnt been done, room also very cramped with three beds in a double room but did have a pool view. Plus side was the location ideal for shops and night life. Be warned this hotel does not have any parasols at poolside, we have been to turkey for the last twelve years and this is by far the worst hotel to date
nice room and staff but.......
this is a budget hotel so you get what it says. the rooms were clean, but we were at the front of the hotel which was on a main street, and the traffic noise was hard to ignore at night. the staff were very friendly, but you do need to watch them if you take advantage of the bar tab service. we were ripped off big time as were others, when drinks etc were put onto the room tab system. in one instance we were charged for ice-cream that we were supposed to have bought in the middle of the night when we were in bed. i traveled with my wife and 4 kids on a half board basis, only to find that the breakfast was a turkish one, and as for the evening meal it was unfit for human consumption. each night it was a chicken dish and a beef dish with rice or chips and on ocassions it was served cold. there was nothing for kids to do and nothing for them to eat so we spent a small fortune on eating out. we did eat nearby in a place called the picadilly were the food and staff were 5 star. would definitely go back to marmaris not sure about this hotel.
Brilliant Budget Hotel
This was our second time at the intermar hotel, we had a family room which was huge with a big balcony which had terrific views of Marmaris. The room was clean with a well stocked mini bar and effective air conditioning. The main road was busy however with the windows and patio windows closed we had a peaceful stay ( the air conditioning is more effective that way ) The staff had changed slightly from last year but they still remained very courteous and helpful, OK there was no entertainment here but there is plenty to choose from with just a short walk away and it suited us because we sampled the night life in other bars. The breakfast was drab but typically turkish, the evening meal more than made up for it, so much choice and the homemade soup was a favourite of ours. The pool is fairly big and was cleaned twice a day as i witnessed on many occasions the only downside was that when we went in september it was a little cold on first getting in! The Intermar hotel is ideally located central for all your holiday wishes...shopping as it was for me. I would recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget - no frills clean accomodation.
Very over rated
Arrived mid afternoon, room not ready so went for a walk til it was cleaned. Returned to find the room supposedly clean - still furry around the shower tray area!! So into the room, which overlooked the main road, and what a busy road that is. After 2 days of no sleep I finally gave in and bought ear plugs, beware if you go and are facing the main road, it's like living on the M25. Not impressed with Intermar or staff (apart from one guy on reception who was really nice and not OTT). Will be returning to Marmaris but definitely not at the Intermar. Also, be careful on the stairs as I managed to slip down them (only carpeted to the first floor) and done a nasty bit damage to my back and shoulder just before leaving for airport home. Only plus side of this hotel is the location to the beach and shops etc. Recommended place to eat - try Cousins steak house which is about 10 minutes walk up the road (opposite Club Alize hotel), food, services, prices all excellent and George the owner is lovely.

Arrived at night and was given a very small room, resolved not to stay in it and by 1.00pm the next day we had changed to a better one. Marmaris is very crowded - we hired a car for five days and went to see the real Turkey, which is breathtaking. The pool doesn't always feel clean at the Intermar and my daughter got a throat infection and others got ear infections. They allow people from other hotels to use the pool as long as they buy their drinks from the bar and that was very frustrating as there was not always enough room in the pool for everyone. The pool music is so loud all day it drives you crazy and makes it an uncomfortable palce to sit. The cokes cost 3Lira for a small glass and you can but a 2.5litre bottle in the supermarket for 2.5Lira! Be warned the drinks are a total rip off. One of the waiters -Alan -got too friendly with an 11 year old girl, keep your eyes on your kids, althought he rest of the waiters were nothing more than helpful, apart from Stephen at the bar who did his best to over charge and give the wrong change. Do not keep a tab! Pay as you go! Yes the rooms didn't get cleaned properly, yes the AC was a bit dodgy, we didn't spend our fortnnight sat on the sunbeds so we enjoyed our stay on the whole. Most of the hotels in Marmaris were tired looking - the Intermar is no exception. Advice - get out and see the real Turkey! Beautiful mountains, bays and sites. Don't book Half board - the food is not good and much cheaper outside! Temp in August was 46 degrees - don't go in the summer if you can't stand the heat!
we loved it!!!!!
hiya all, we stayed there 16th - 23rd and loved it. this is our 10th time and have stayed in different types of hotels and aparts. every year when we saw this hotel i always said to hubby "i would like to stay there" so this year we did. we had two roms, daughter n friend in the other. both were spotless. the check-in was smooth and the lifts very "friendly" (makes a change LOL). bathroom was clean although the shower was a bit small, must say though it had the best hairdrier in Turkey!!! our towels were only changed once and the sheets, i think it should have been more. We were b & b (turkish) and the girls only ate the bread, but me n hubby ate everything except the olives, it was lovely. The staff were pleasant enough, not too much in your face. All in all another great time had by all.
Disappointed in the Intermar
I have been to Marmaris many times and this hotel was by far the worst. The location was excellent which was good as the Intermar failed to provide any entertainment whatsoever. The website advertised a Turkish night but I was told by staff that this wasn't going ahead as the hotel was not fully booked. Toilet paper was not placed in the room every day and had to go to reception for it as well as clean towels. The maids were in every day but didn't clean the floors as they were absolutely filthy. Bar staff frequently added items onto my bill and was told by other guests that this was also happening to them. They also tried to charge me for items from the mini bar which I didn't take. Have no idea why there is a mini bar as it barely manages to keep anything cold. The air conditioning was only effective during the night but had to turn it off because of the noisy sounds coming from it. Contrary to the website, the pool is not one of the largest in Marmaris. On a positive note, the Junction restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent with extremely friendly staff and great food. Marmaris has become very expensive but it still has great weather, friendly people and beautiful scenery. Will go back to Marmaris but not the Intermar.

We have been in the Intermar for a week now, with a week to go. Marmaris is very warm this summer and despite two complaints the air conditioning is not working properly. We are staying half board and have abandoned meals altogether as they are pretty dreadful, we could have eaten the same meals in any of the restaurants for less than the extra we paid to go half board. We have also asked for the mattress on the bed to be changed, may as well be lying on the floor, but all the mattresses in the hotel are the same so I guess I'll be crippled by the end of the second week. Having discovered we had no toilet paper in the bathroom we embarked on a paper chase around the hotel only to discover there was none to be found, even in the public areas. Our next trip is to find alternative accomodation for the second week, somewhere with toilet paper, this place is a gonner. We stayed in the Sayer apartments last year and were much happier, it is also much cheaper and does provide toilet paper. In relation to Marmaris itself. The touts are still out in strength and whereas last year most said nothing when you ignored them now they make snide remarks in English. This place is becomming very uncomfortable and I will not be returning to Turkey.
loved the intermar
