Security Nightmare
When we arrived two policemen were outside the door of our room 1105 as the next door had just been broken into. The lads staying there had lost over £1000.00 worth of items, including trainers! We were warned to always put the wood in the balcony doors and to double lock the front door. However everytime the cleaners had been in the room was left without the wood in and the double lock was not put on. The pool area was lovely and there was no fighting for sunbeds. As a single parent with a 13 year old daughter I felt very unsafe and could not sleep at night knowing the security was absolutely non-existent. I did ask to be moved and was promised another room which after three days of broken promises gave up on.
beware be extra carefull
Stayed at the Malibu park room 1106 above the road, had a great stay nice room clean no problems untill on our third day we went and did some afternoon shopping as you do. on our way out of the room we placed the wooden bar to stop the balcony window being opened and locked and checked our front door my fiancee had secured our money in the deposit box she had braught with her and was locked in her case under the bed, when we got back we opened the front door as usuall to find my fiancee's case cut open and all of the contents thrown accross the whole room, we saw that our deposit box had gone, containing 700 euros, both our phones had gone and chargers, both our cameras had gone all her jewelry had gone my mp3 player had gone and even some of her clothes. The security was non existant the so called security guard made his home in reception there was no type of booking in and out no cctv and the police dont even come to the hotel to look for any evidence. brilliant. oh and the reps cant speak spanish so dont expect any help from them if you want to make a report to the police, even if you have no money left to survive you still might have to stay for the duration of your holiday. so please be extra carefull when you stay there use the deposit boxes dont leave any valuables in your case or bags and enjoy what you have today for tomorrow
Great!
Well from all the bad reviews we read about this hotel i can honestly say that none were true it was a lovely resort and would definatley go back again. Heart attack hill was not a problem really considering the whole island is hilly it wouldnt put me off going back. The pool area was perfect for our three year old son and was always kept clean. The rooms were spacious and clean and we didnt see one cockroach, to anybody whos read bad reports i wouldnt worry just go and see for yourself.
Loved it!
Just returned from 1 week stay at the Malibu Park and loved it. It was our first time in Tenerife. The weather was great, apart from the day we decided to go to Mt Teide! We found the accommodation to be very spacious and clean (we only saw one, dead, cockroach at the hotel) with excellent facilities (although the pool was a little cold, but soon got used to it!). Only disadvantage was the loud doorbell being pressed contiunously on the second night at approximately 4am by a group of drunk girls who had gone to the wrong appartment, take some earplugs! The hill many have referred to was a bit of a pain, but did not cause too many problems for us (we are a couple in late 20s). There is a courtesy bus every hour during the day, but we were happy to walk up and down the hill to the beach. We ate out every night at different restaraunts on the sea front as there is no shortage of choice. We spent most of the days on the beaches, which were clean (although watch out for theives, we stopped one from stealing a sunbathing couple's bags). The public transport from Las Americas is frequent and comfortable if you fancy a trip. We went to El Teide National Park and Santa Cruz. Watch out for all the touts on the sea front though, asking if you are British. The best tactic is just to ignore them, although they become a little annoying at times! Would definately go back and would recommend this to everyone.
it does what it says on the tin
Having just returned from the malibu park I can say a good time was had by all,a stroll down the hill gets you to the first of many resturaunts where you will not be disapointed with their breakfasts at under 2 euros a time.the complex itself is more than addequate for a good base for a good holiday.Staff are very good, complex is clean without the sparkle you might get elsewhere.Alberts coach is a godsend we made good use of it and it is free so dont hold back on the tips for the driver. My only gripe was the films at night they were bad quality copies of good movies,we sat engrossed with a good movie for over an hour then it just stopped never to come back on again, with no explanation from the staff we were then treated to some programme about people crashing their cars, about a dozen people went to bed disapointed that night.Apart from that over all it is a very good place to holiday.
lovely holiday
Large accomadation, very clean, quiet, no cockroaches!! pool warm for time of year, excellent restaurant close by Lito's. Please visit excellent value and very freindly. Would go back again
Malibu Park - great holiday - family from Bournemouth
Just returned from half term break. Had excellent time at Malibu Park. Staff all very helpful and all spoke good English. Reps very helpful. Rooms clean and well laid out for self catering. Central location for all amenities. No kids club which was a shame. Rooms were not cleaned every day by maids as stated in brochure - but not a problem. Has on site shop for basics. Taxi service bit scarey!! Good bus service provided also, although we didn't use it. Pool temperature very cold - as weather not at best could have done with being heated - we didn't venture in but 8 yr old loved it!! All in all value for money. Would go back but maybe different time of year.
Wonderful stay
Average Temp. Night 15-16deg. Day 21-23deg. Malibu Apartments spotless good size and very well appointed four mugs might have been better than the small cups, depends what you prefer and a decent sized teapot would have been appreciated. Canarian coffee is an acquired taste so take your own brand and maybe a flask too if you’ve room. I have never spent so much money before I’d even started the holiday. £20 or €30 breakage deposit per head returned at end of holiday. A safe key deposit and you do need that too. I hired a car but to waive the accident excess I had to pay about €14 per day. Though we didn’t use the pool it looked very inviting. There is a lift to take you down to the shops and a Spar close by. You can drink the water but it’s not very palatable. Do: Take in the view at Otello’s restaurant in Adeje (Adaykay) and watch the Hang gliders as the sun goes down. Do: Take at least one meal at The Cow on the Roof a great T bone for €15.75, Chateaubriand €13.75 each. Do: Take the trip to see the Pilot whales (expensive at €55 on Freebird 2) Do: Go up Mount Tiede but if you’re driving remember it’s a long drop! Do: Try to take in Gomera though remember it’s a long day and quite tiring 07.30 to 20.00. The representatives at home and abroad were very helpful too.
Middle Of The Road
Just returned from one week vacation at Malibu Park in Tenerife. Nothing special, however your holiday could be vastly improved by shopping around for an apartment that has owners who treat it as a home and not a money making machine. Ours was ok as far as the usual expectations go but did lack in "would go back" factor. Hot water that only allows one shower per day (3mins max so if more than 1 person going then rota system required)and 3 channel TV was not my idea of a holiday apartment that's worth visiting again. We paid £240 for a one bed apartment for one week in Malibu Park which is top money for this complex however we were unfortunate to land a very basic secondhand demounted holiday caravan. The complex itself is ok and would not pass any detremental comment and would recommend it as a fairly good place to stay providing you are not in the top 10 heart risk categories as the walk down to Las Americas is ok however the walk back up the hill will in time hospitalise even the fittest of sunseekers. Taxis are cheap (around 3.50-5.00euros) to and from Las Americas and are better attempted blindfolded as good driving is only ever spotted on the golf courses. All in all we enjoyed our holiday and are going back in a month or so to try and purchase our own place. (hot water and satellite tv included!) The advice I would give is book an apartment on a good recommendation from a friend or run the risk!!
Again we loved this place.
Yet again we used Malibu Park for our usual winter break. (4th time). We have just arrived back in Uk after spending a week there. As usual we loved it and could"nt find anything to moan about. The room was very clean on arrival. The Splash pool cafe provides quality food and drinks at a very reasonable price. (HOT & COLD). Entertainment in Splash bar is by means of DVD films/football matches. There is no cabaret acts/ live bands etc. This is not a problem as good entertainment is a short walk away or 4euros in taxi..The swimming pool area was immaculate and well maintained. All staff were helpful and very polite. These apartments are for everybody no matter what age group you are. .All facilities are there, shop, cafe x2 and laundry. If you are looking for a place with everything on site and guaranteed a quiet nights sleep, consider this. We have no regrets.
