Excellent holiday
We have just come back from th Roc Oasis Park in Cala n Forcat and thought it was excellent for a family holiday. I went with my husband and 2 children aged 7 and 4 & had a wonderful time. The apartments were clean & tidy with microwave, TV, hairdryer & fresh towels every couple of days. The apartments were cleaned & beds made ever other day. The reps were very friendly & helpful as were the the rest of the staff at the complex. Entertainment was very good in the day and evening which our girls loved. There are plenty of bars and restaurents nearby and the food was ok but not to the same quality as restaurents in England. Supermarkets which were a 2 minute walk away were well stocked, slightly pricey but had everything you needed in them for self catering. The kids clubs we thought were very good & were very inviting. My 7 year old loved them and made loads of friends. The pool area was very clean with plenty of sun beds as was the rest of the site. The only slight disappointment was the beach. It was tiny and a bit of a sun trap for small children it had lots of jelly fish in the sea. This did not spoil the holiday though. Overall we would definately recommend the Roc Oasis. People who are expecting a luxury apartment & to be waited on hand and foot this is not the place for you. Brilliant if you are a family with small children.
WERE NOT PLAYING GAMES!!!!
Back from a week at the roc oasis. There were 8 of us in total (4 adults / 4 kids) and we had a great time....planning already to go back next year... games by the pool all day (you can take it or leave it, there's no pressure) ...reps were superb....daughter has picture of Chris by her bedside!!!! For those of you expecting the Ritz then wake up this is a week in Menorca at a busy block of apartments...have fun.... So if you have kids that are above 18 months then go here they will have a ball....
fab for the family
just back from a great weeks break in menorca at the roc oasis, and what a fab time we had.The weather was sunny for 6 and a half days out of the 7, the half day we had a storm of which we got the chance to catch a pic of a twister{ see pic,s }.The area it self has got a fair amount of bars and dinning place,s to eat { avoid the chinese place, yuk! there is a square were there is bands palying at nite its a must to go and see good for all the family to see and join in .There is a good bus service into cuitadella for 5 euro for 3 people were there is lots of shops to spend your cash on and also the only place were you can get you 200pack of cigs if you are a smoker overall nice place to spend the day. Final point must go to the kids club staff at the oasis we had our 7yr old daughter with us and the the guys and girls there could not do more for the kids there, infact she might have had a better time than us, OVERALL the roc oasis is good for all famliy happy hols
basic accommodation but clean and friendly
We are a family of 3, the Roc oasis park is well situated and is probably in need of some modernisation, however, the place was spotless and staff, both reps and hotel staff were friendly and happy. We did'nt stay in the hotel on the evening very often but what we did see was good and suitable for families. The accommodation is close to the many restaurants of the resort and "the square" where on an evening we were entertained by tribute bands, mostly good ones. There were plenty of sun loungers around the 2 pools and the pool was kept clean. I would say the place was well suited to families with young children.
hell on earth!
ok here goes, we are a family of 5, thats 2 adults a 15, 13, and 9 year old. we have standards and it realy shocked us to be left here from our sunworld coach that faithfull day last august.in fact i feel ill just to talk about it honestly.the place is so old and grimy no lifts, fencing for your balcony that was falling off so you dare nt look out in case you landed the 3 stories below .the food was raw and the cafe if you could call it that was filty, the tables were so thick with grease and staines! i was speechless, the plastic chairs and tables were all mismatched some were brown and white well at some stage of their life they were white and the smell of old deep fat oil that your chips came from was sickening, then there was the pools 2 in fact this place needed 12 pools to accommidate the people in this place, i have never seen so many kids, teenagers and grannys stuck in one pool in my life, swimming was impossible you wouldnt even have been able to float in it. but i feel i have to point out this very important fact to any wouldbe travelers its a great place ,if you dont look after your kids and you drink larger from cans at the pool all day then its the place for you but i come on holiday to enjoy my self and spend time with my kids and i know other people do too,in fact i spent my whole first 4 days on the net looking for other accommidation, i am not a snob and i come from a working class family and i think some of the reveiws here are from people on mars! but i cannot under stand how this place is number 19 on tripadvisor! its vile, after 4 days squalor i packed my bags (i never realy unpacked them) and headed off with my family to punta prima south of the island and we had the rest of our forthnight there in club punta prima which is 5 star , it was full of italians and germans but at least it was clean and no dirty smell or fights and we could go for a dip in the clean pool they had there , bliss,we had to pay a fortune to do his but hey it was well worth it to get away from the filth of oasis park, any way the moral of the story here is if you feel you need to be punished and you deserve nothing on holiday please go to the oasis park if like me you work hard all year and want to enjoy 2 weeks of the year in a friendly clean atmostphere give oasis park a miss. i hope this helps some one.i know i booked this holiday on the reports that apeared here on tripadvisor and i always do and they are never wrong, but this time they were so beware take note and take care.
had a brill time
We arrived here on 6 October for a weeks family break (2 kids aged 1 and 13) and were only looking for a quiet time. What we got were reps who were game for anything and never walked by without acknowledging you and talking to the kids whose names they all seemed to know. The apartment we were in was basic but did the job as all we did in it was sleep. The pool, although cold , was spotlessly clean and a lifeguard was on sight at all times. The cove at the park was small and stoney but lovely for the older ones who like looking for crabs and fish.It was also a good suntrap. The entertainment team always had something up their sleeves to get you involved in games but were also more than happy to leave you alone if this was what you wanted. The whole family agreed that we would go back in a heartbeat because if it was this much fun at the end of the season what would the middle of summer be like when it was busier.
what a holiday ! fab !!
We have just got back today and felt we just had to leave a quick review, we arrived friday am, went straight to the pool, which was clean, and very cooling, although not fresh water!, Our appartment was on the 2nd floor, with great views of the pool and enertainment centre, it had everything you needed for a self catering holiday including a microwave which helped a lot and made eating a little cheaper in, for 2 weeks. Being a novice at Self catering, i was ever so glad to have 3 supermarkets within 2 minutes walking distance fom our apartment, although could be a little on the expensive side, were well stocked, and anyone taking smaller children, would not have to worry about food, nappies ect, its all there. We had 2 17 year old's with us and were not short of entertainment for them, theres plenty of bars, resturants and a few clubs in the square nearby to keep us all happy, we felt the whole area to be safe and clean, and so close. We had a few day trips, but i would recommend going to the race evening, we had a great time, we bet 2 Euro's a race and there were 6 races lasting in total 2 1/2 hours we had a right laugh. The entertainment was fab, the reps really made our holiday, and if you read this, Becky, Sam, Uncle Adam, and Rick, we love you all! even if you all do cheat at volleyball. !!! A great place, very central, and sorry to be home. If you book - have fun - we did !
Nice apartments, pity about the location!
Just back from 2 weeks in Oasis Park in Cala n Forcat. The complex is lovely, the apartments really nice and spacious. We requested a 2 bed apt on the ground floor when booking, and it turns out there is no such thing - all 2 bed apts are on the first floor. So we had to carry the pram up and down stairs every day which was a real pain. The apts were only cleaned 3 times a week and not to a very high standard. In particular the cleaner didn't always mop both balconies and as a result we had a problem with ants (which was dealt with the moment we reported it, but the problem recurred a few days later). We used the creche quite a bit which was very good but extremely expensive (eur7.50 per hr). I wasn't impressed with the kids club which was based around the kids playing nintendo all the time and they weren't encouraged to take part in the organised activities, the reps were happier to let them play by themselves all the time - much easier for them but not so healthy for the kids. Entertainment wasn't bad, the kids really loved it! The beach is absolutely tiny and very uncomfortable with lots of rock, but it's pretty and there are lots of little fish for the kids to catch in their nets, which they love. Our big bugbear is the shopping/restaurant area around. The area is very commercial, with no atmosphere, and loads of cheap restaurants serving the same poor quality food. We couldn't find one decent restaurant, and we got really fed up with consistently poor food. They weren't even good at cooking fish which is supposed to be their specialty. And there are no nice shops, just the really cheap touristy ones, and a couple of perfume shops. Ciutadella is very close - 10 mins in a taxi - and is absolutely gorgeous, a really quaint, pretty town with loads of nice shops and restaurants. It made up for the facilities in Cala n Forcat. In a nutshell - we had a great time because the complex was lovely and we met really nice people and made loads of friends - but we would never go back because of the poor facilities outside the complex.
Absolute Fantastic
Just returned from a week at the Oasis, all I can say is absolute fantastic. There were lots to do for both adults and kids during the day and evening. If you don't fancy doing anything at the apartments there are lots of fun attractions in Cala'n Forcat for the kids like the water aqua park and at night bars for the adults. There are 2 pools, a pool side bar and restaurant with 2 massive TV screens. The food is excellent and the Reps are great. Although we were given a room on the first floor and had to go up 1 lot of stairs and down another lot to get to our room, with having a child and buggy I felt this was unacceptable, however, we were moved within 24 hours and the room ( 815 ) we were given was top class. The patio area was massive with loads of room for our little one to play in and we also had room to have breakfast in the morning. Although at night you had a little noise from the street behind, I felt for the quality and size of the apartment it was well worth it. We are even looking into going back in the next couple of weeks we enjoyed it that much, we will go back to the Oasis everytime we go to Menorca now, we had an abolute blast.
Safe place for young teenagers
Loved the oasis park there was resturants very close by there was a nice square which had adults entertainment in middle and young teens entertainment aroung it my fourteen year old met up with sisteen year old girls and went to safe clubs with them till closing time at 3.00 am i felt safe letting her go she had a whale of time and i never saw her the reps jo kelly kerry simion and garath were brillient they were entertaining and very close to my daughter shops were close by for my daughter and mysonhad a brillient time at the resort he played football and waterpolo and pool with the reps my only regret is that we didn't saty longer
