Today after numerous renovations, the Sahara Hotel and Casino is a state of the art hotel and casino that kept its historic flair.

" Picked up hire car from Los Angeles... "

Picked up hire car from Los Angeles and dove to Las Vegas. Nice drive on the highways plenty of stores, petrol, and rest stops. Total driving time was 4 1/2hrs. There is an outlet mall 20mls from Las Vegas good for shopping on the way back.

The Sahara is one of the older hotels in Vegas and it is at the far end of the strip, however it is quite a bit cheaper than the big hotels such as Paris, Venetian, or Bellagio.

The Sahara was the cheapest hotel on the strip in Vegas that we would find when booking through the Internet. For a first trip there, it was okay, however, the rooms were a bit shabby and the location was awful.
