Las Vegas is an amazing place to visit. I would only recommend staying a few days as it can get a bit much with all the lights. Its a different town during the day and like in all cities in the USA there are ares you should not visit. I would not recommend taking children.... more

A fantastic holiday! The accommodation was lovely, with a great view and plenty of room. Las Vegas is an amazing place, with so much to do. Each hotel on the main strip has a theme to it, such as New York New York, which as you can guess, is themed like New York City. Most... more

very nice place
We were in Las Vegas for the first time at the end of January. We were only there for two nights and we were able to get the best rates at the Las Vegas Hilton in the four-star range. And we loved it. We got a great room with a view of the Strip. It was an awesome room. The people at the hotel were very nice. The food was good. The casino wasn't overpowering and in your face like it can be at some places. The Star Trek Experience was really overpriced (and I'm a Trekkie). We had to take a taxi to the Strip, but that was all right because we really liked the hotel and since the prices were so much better than the same rated hotels on the Strip we figured it made up for it. I definitely would recommend this hotel. We also went to 'V' at the Venetian and thought that was a very enjoyable variety show and had a really good dinner at the Grand Luxe Cafe in the Venetian prior to the show. We also went to the Riviera Comedy Club and laughed A LOT, though we didn't think much of the hotel.
Couldn't ask for more!
We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Las Vegas Hilton. For the money, you couldn't ask for more. It doesn't have the cutting edge decor of some of the new hotels on the Strip but it was very nice. Each day when we returned to our room to change, it was clean with fresh towels. We really loved the casino. It was never crowded and the service was great. We visited several of the casinos in the big hotels on the Strip and they were so big, it was difficult to keep up with each other. At the Hilton, we each went our own way but could still find each other without the use of a cell phone. On Sunday morning we had to wait a while to get our car from the valet. There were lots of people checking out so it was just bad timing. After that, we self-parked in the lot outside the Sports Book area and were able to come and go without any difficulty. It was fun to visit big hotels on the Strip and try out other casinos but after a few hours, we wanted to get out of the commotion and go back to the Hilton. The Hilton casino was lively enough to be fun but much more relaxed and comfortable. The hotel is a little out of the way but when the monorail is up and running next month, it won t be an issue. We felt the Strip was a nice place to visit but we were very happy at the Hilton.
Valet good, everything else bad
Valet was great, very quick and friendly. Heaters to keep you warm. Everything else sucked. Left at 8:30 am to shop and enjoy the day had joined rooms with parents who had never been to vegas. Came back at 4:15 pm and room was not made, no maid on floor. Went to front desk and was told that they were sorry but they have had to let alot of their help go due to budget issues. When I told the clerk that this was unacceptable, she became upset and left her station unmanned. Ten minutes later I flagged down a supervisor who did not agree that what I was told was true. She did not offer to have someone up to my room immediately and besides saying she was sorry about 50 times, nothing else was offered. I relinquished my players card that day and left a five day stay that was comped based on my play to go to another casino, who understood my concerns and gave me a nice room with great service. The Hilton really let me down and unfortumately it reflects negatively on the entire Hilton (Park Place) company.
Great Vegas experience
I spent a few nights at the Hilton and enjoyed it very much. The first time I was in this hotel was July31,1969. It was then called the International, and I was there to see Elvis' first concert in nine years. I couldn't afford to stay there then. I stayed downtown at the Freemont. This time, I was not dissapointed. Comfortable room, glamorous casino, good restaurants and I even won a few bucks playing blackjack. I ate at the coffee shop for breakfast five mornings in a row. Good expericence the first four. They had problems the fifth morning, although the waitress was very contrite, telling me she appreciated my patience.
No Service, Lack of Hospitality and Cleanliness
After we arrived at around 2 am from the airport, we were very tired and drove to the hotel. The hotel itself is very far from the strip and hidden in an undeveloped zone which is very desolate at night so I would not recommend anyone walking to the strip. The parking is self-service, which is a complete joke because the garages aren't marked, after we finally found a place to park, about 4 minutes walk away from the huge hotel , we had to carry our heavy bags in tow because there are no luggage carts available, or any securityguarding the dark garages and we entered through the side door and was surprised to see a smelly, smoke filled arena with a bunch of drunk gamblers and idiots wandering around. We quickly avoided this area and it took the full amount of 45 minutes to check in because of the lines. We went up to our room and were sorely disappointed as there was only one bed and we had requested doubles and we were three people and not only that, but the room itself was very dirty and old, and it was a smoking room and my friend suffers from asthma. We were so tired but we constantly attempted to "exchange" our room for the room we had reserved but the people downstairs at the desk were unattentive and rude. I called 4 times telling them that I needed a pull away bed and they kept saying, "It'll be up in a few minutes." This service was laughable and I waited one hour and a half for the dirtiest pull away bed that stunk like mold. What kind of service is this??! After my friend took the couch, and my other friend took the bed, I finally had somewhere to sleep apart from the stained carpet. The room was the older one from the 1970's and it is not very clean or well maintained. Later I learnt that the hotel had been given numerous additions from the day's of Elvis, if you are smart, ask for a newer room. The next day we requested a room with two beds and they gave us one and didn't at all apologize for the terrible inconvience of getting to bed at 5:30 am. The room was a bit more modern but it still had problems, including mold that wasn't cleaned on the shower curtain (yuck!) and a dirty closet. The view from the window is beautiful, as one can see the strip and the large pool that has no porch so people who are concerned about sun cancer should proceed with caution. The restaurants at the hotel are awful, overpriced and the employees are rude. I ordered a hamburger, well-done to go for $13.95 and when I got back to my room, I saw blood dripping from the patty and I had stomach problems for the next two days. The lobby is noisy, rambling and confusing and there are alot of rude gamblers walking around and it isn't very family oriented plus they blast excessively loud concerts. Overall this place is too large and there is not enough relation to the customer and the needs which one should require at a decent hotel. Look for better deals elsewhere.
dream came true at the hilton
my wife and i always dreamed of going to vegas for a number of reasons but the main one being we are huge elvis fans and what better place to stay than the hilton where elvis performed over 800 shows. the people are so polite and helpful the hotel looks fantastic room service was great the star trek experience was unbeleivable and made every other ride in vegas look ordinary. would we go back? yes like a shot one word of warning to the elvis fans reading this the elvisarama is a big two bit dissapointment worth a trip but could be a lot better. take a comfartable pair of shoes if you plan on doing the hotels you will walk miles. the hotel staff didnt want to let me in the showroom just for a little look which did seem a bit mean, apart from that a great time. ps you must visit the grand canyon. viva las vegas baby
lv hilton - good hotel but too far out
our overall stay at the las vegas hilton was good.rooms were spacious and clean with daily maid service.we had only a few complaints about the hotel.firstly ,it was quite far off the main hotels on the strip ,about a half hour walk to the treasure island hotel but they were building a monorail and once that is up and running getting to the strip should be quick and easy.there were always lots of taxi's outside to take you to the strip but you could walk.the only other bad points were the rooms themselves, sanity needs were not catered for ,bins did not have lids or plastic bags in them. Also there was no tea and coffee factilities in the rooms but coffee from the t.w.b.y down stairs was good and cheap! apart from that the hotel was very nice and quiet , especially the pool and the 20 seater jaccuzi was always empty!the casino was big and decorated with thousands of chrystals hanging from the ceiling!! the buffet and other restarants were quite cheap and quiet and the shops were good including a jewellery store toy shop and a candy store kids whould love!if your a bif fan of star trek you will be in for a treat with a star trek experience and great shops selling everything star trek!
A Best-Kept Secret
The Las Vegas Hilton is truly one of the "best-kept secrets" in town and a superb value for the money. The hotel often has rates as low as $35/night during off-season weeknights, and you will be hard pressed to get a hotel of such quality as such as reasonable a rate. The Hilton has been around of over 30 years now, but the property has been kept up to Hilton quality standards and the staff is smart and professional. Public spaces are very spacious, with crystal lighting fixtures, lots of marble and elegant decor throughout. The management has made some unique updates over the years to entice more interest in the off-Strip property, such as a redesigned theatre, nightclub, and the Star Trek: The Experience theme ride, museum, restaurant and related casino. I was particularly pleased with my room, which was good-sized and decorated in a mild art-deco motif. Nice amenities, including an excellent bed and marble bathroom with a good amount of space, second vanity outside, etc. I'd be happy to stay there again.
Not as good as it used to be.
My husband and I stayed at the Hilton on our first trip to Las Vegas 5 years ago. We had a beautiful room and a lovley view. We decided to stay there again when we had to go and pick our son up from the airport. We were able to get an early check-in, which we appricated greatly. The room the gave us was horrible. The walls had food and other stains on them, the bathtub was dirty and the paint was coming off of it. I called down to the front desk and asked them if they had a clean room. The woman was very helpful and said she would give us a "oversized room that they don't normaly give out". Well the room was big but again the tub paint was peeling and there were some stains. We decided just to stay in the room instead of trying to move agin. They really need to check and do some fixing in the rooms. By the way I work at a hotel (not a chain)and expect the same kind of standards that we have if not more.
My favorite hotel in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Hilton is my favorite hotel in Las Vegas and I have stayed at most of them. When you combine value for money with the quality of the hotel, service and surroundings, the LV Hilton comes out on top. Being away from the Strip, the hotel just seems a little quieter than others. It's also very easy to drive in and out of the large self-parking garage. You get a sense of the old Vegas at the Hilton and with its newly renovated rooms, various showrooms, and excellent buffet (with unlimited beer and wine) it's a good time every time. The pool area is very nice. I would recommend always booking this hotel directly through the Las Vegas Hilton website -- you'll find the best rates. Always check for special packages too -- they can be a great value.
