I am 23 and went for a week away with my 48 year old mum in September 2010. We just wanted a week in the sun without paying a fortune for it! So we went onto the Thomson website and booked a holiday staying at Club Turquoise in Marmaris.
We arrived at around 11pm and had a quick, smooth check-in and even had our bags carried to our 1 bedroom apartment on the 2nd level. We could see a tiny bit of swimming pool through our bedroom window but in the living area we were facing the main road. This wasn't a problem as when we were in the apartment we tended to be in bed so weren't disturbed in the night by coaches. We didn't have a balcony, just a french window type thing but my mum still enjoyed sitting by it doing her crosswords. We headed straight to the bar after check-in for a drink. 2-4-1 cocktails from 11pm-1am. Brilliant! The staff were very friendly from the minute we arrived.
We got up the next day at around 8:30 (well I got up and left mother in bed!) and there were ample sunbeds and the mattresses were free to use (whether this is because we went in September which was slightly out of the highest peak season I don't know). I sat at one side of the pool (where the sun shone all day) and my mum on the other (in the shade under an umbrella) which suited me fine. But the point is, you have the choice. The pool is big and very refreshing. Slightly cold in the morning but lovely to cool down in. The staff come round a few times a day for games e.g. darts, pool, bingo but the water polo was brilliant! I played every day I was there and it was so much fun and was followed by the splash dance afterwards. If you didn't want to join in with any of the activites, they accepted that and moved on. They also had evening entertainment such as karaoke and a Turkish night. They showed all the English football games as well.
The food was lovely at the hotel. A lot of authentic Turkish dishes such as a full english breakfast, and egg and chips were served! Great value as well. The drinks were reasonable too. A pint of the local beer (effes) was 5TL and cocktails were 10TL (but bear in mind theyre 241 7pm-8pm and 11pm-1am every day).
We got a safety deposit box which is located in reception and is very secure. Well worth the small amount of money. The air conditioning was free but only in the living area of the apartment, but in September it was slightly cooler overnight so not really much of an issue.
The hotel is in a good location. You go out, turn left and keep walking for about 150m and you will hit the beach. All down that road is the bars and restaurants (if you like your curries, go to the Taj Mahal. Lovely, cheap food with a chef all the way from Bradford!) There are a few clubs on the beach front but if you want the superclubs go to the Marina (where the Bazar is). You flag down the Dolmus and get there for 2TL. More restaurants there but quite expensive.
On the first day I was there I went for a turkish bath. Strange experience but meant to be very good for prepping your skin for a tan. I had the best tan I've ever had whilst I was there but not sure it was down to the Tukish Bath. We also did the Jeep Safari (very much fun but you WILL get wet!) and the Late Check-out day. It was an expensive day but was very good. I think I'd rather spend my last day by the pool though next time.
Overall, it was a great holiday and I met lots of people of all ages (hence me going to clubs) and the staff at the hotel even came out with us at night when they finished work! I would definitely recommend Turqoise and I have booked to return in June 2011 with my boyfriend!

Went to club turquiose in september for a week with my wife kids at nans , i was a little apprehensive after reading a lot of negative reviews .
we arrived at 9 pm and were dealt with quickly and effiecently by a very friendly receptionist ok his english wasnt perfect but you are in turkey after all and his english was better than my turkish.
On entering the room we found it spotlessly clean and all the kitchen utensils were clean, the only fault was only 1 pillow each on the bed we rolled up the spare blanket and put that under the pillows for the night before we had chance to ask for 2 extra pillows at reception the cleaners replaced the blanket with 2 extra pillows what service.
the communal areas are cleaned regularly and the paths hosed and scrubbed every morning in short the whole complex is spotless and the staff very friendly and helpful .
we didnt use the pool or sunbeds as we wanted to see as much of marmaris and the surrounding area as we could during our short time there and laying by a pool is not my idea of a holiday but there were always sunbeds available and the prices in the pool side bar were very reasonable again with friendly staff.
we enjoyed our stay so much we intend returning in 2012 when our daughters are a little older as first choice have taken turquoise out of their brochure we spoke to the manager about booking direct again he ws very helpful .
think the people who found fault must be either very picky or just look for the negative in every thing they see . personally we cant wait to get back .
anyone considering going i would say give it a try you wont be disappointed and check out chuckle brothers fun barexcellent food and all drinks buy one get one free all day and all night and the entertainment is fantastic if you go tell mike and leon mike[the joiner] and sue said hi.
one word of warning never tell the staff at bars and resturants you'll be in on another night if you have no intention of going they nrver forget a face if they pester you when you pass just say no thank you politely and they all seemed to accept it.roll on 2012

Good and the Bad
This is our 4th time in Marmaris and our 2nd time in the Club Turquoise, we will not be coming back to these apartments.
Good.... the rooms are very clean with maids changing towels and bedding every other day, the pool is a nice size and kept clean. The snack area is all ways kept clean and tidy with good food being served. The reception and checking in service was excellent and very fast, air- con is free not like other places and you do need it on.
Bad.... The brochure said it’s a family hotel and last year it was, this year we had a high amount of single sex groups making it very noisy at night going on until 4am. After these groups get back from clubbing they hang around the pool area (4am) talking and laughing so the families which had rooms on the ground floor by the pool not getting much sleep. These groups then put their towels on the sun beds and not coming down to the pool until after midday, making it hard for the families to get sun beds by the pool, some days we had to go down to the pool by 5am to get a bed, you don’t need this when you’re on holiday.
The entertainment has gone downhill the same every day, with only Mert (nice guy) working his butt off and for the first time the maids put and envelop in your room asking for tips.
We meet other families that had returned to the Club Turquoise like us and most of them were disappointed this year.

well when we booked up as a family of 4 including 3 adults and a baby we were told that club turquoise was the best for family friendly, well it didnt help that were delayed alot and didnt arrive there until 5am! to which we were greeted to the receptionist who could barley speak enlgish and when he took our name's he sed 4 adults? we sed no its 3 adults 1 baby and he showed us the piece of paper which did say 4 adults but it was clear enough that a 1 and a half year old baby was quite clearly sitting in a buggy so he told us that it was no problem and asked one of the guards to help us to our room (now should be a good time to mention that we where booked for over a year and requested a pool side view on the very bottom floor) the guard then took us up this long thin corridor to find some stairs and no lift, we sed no we carnt go upstrairs because of the baby and buggy so the other family we had booked up with was given a room on the second floor so we swapped. The room itself was disgraceful, it had a street view and the noise was hurrendous, the baby could open the doors and the handles of the cupbaords were falling off and the kettle was thick with grease and mold. We had a look around and considering it was new 5.30am we were all exhausted and wanted to go to bed but to make matters worse we could not find a cot and when we went to the front desk and asked he sed we have no cots well we were not happy and after another period of time he came and brought us in a white metal cot which was in words dangerous and not safe, it had pieces of sharp metal sticking out and the baby could climb over the top of it! in the end we put the baby in the beds with us. Eventually after all this we went to bed and woke up to go in the swimming pool and for a look around the complex itself was nice but not for a family for a small baby as we were told it was. The next dilema came when we seen that you have to go down two flights of staris to get the pool. It was one thing after another and we were not impressed as we paid a small fortune for this holiday and the food from the actual accommodation was NOT nice so we mostly went down the Adam & Eves, they were fantastic and the food amazing i would highly reccomend it to anyone. Well with all these dilemas we came home a week early and are very disapointed by the whole thing and the lads who work there were so over rated. We will never return the club turquoise ever again.

We arrived at the Club Turquoise at around 2.30 in the morning. Check
in was fast and we were escorted to our room promptly. We had a safe
which is located in reception, not in the room. This cost £1 per day
or 16TL for the week. You do not need to pay for air con as this is
free.
The rooms are very spacious, as you walk in there is the main room
which is huge. This has a sofa bed, dining table and small kitchen (2
ring hob, toaster, kettle and cutlery). The balcony is reasonable
size but only equipped for 2 people. The bathroom is spacious with a
sink, shower cubicle and toilet. None of these are cramped there is a
lot of room to get ready in there. The bedroom is of a reasonable size
with 2 beds, walldrobe and desk.
We had our welcome meeting on our first actual day. It is recommended
to attend as the rep provides useful information without being pushy.
At the meeting you are shown all the excursions that Thomson/First
Choice offer. We originally wanted to go on the VIP Cruise (30 people
maximum, adults only, lunch and a few drinks, stop offs to swim and
snorkel) but it was fully booked both days we were on holiday. As it
was nearing the end of the school holidays the rep recommended the
Family Sunsplash Cruise which is the same as the VIP one but with free
drinks all day. This cost £21 each (£29 for VIP) or 110TL for both of
us.
On the day of the cruise you are picked up from your hotel in the
morning. The cruise is from 10.30 until 4.30. You have four stop offs
to swim. These are located at different points in the bay of Marmaris.
You do get a sun bed which is on the top deck and the kids reps
entertain the kids all day with various activities. Dinner was served
at 12.30 at one of the stop offs. This was a two hour break all the
others are half an hour. Dinner was chicken, lamb, noodles and salad.
All soft drinks are free. The boat trip was really good and worth the
money.
We also booked onto the Jeep Safari. We didn't use the reps this time,
instead we just went to an excursion shop. The safari cost £8 each
(originally quoted at £10 until we said no) which was 40TL.
The jeep picked us up from the hotel at 9.30 and took us to a bar near
the hotel. Here you are briefed on the safari ride. Basically the
start of the safari is one big water fight (you hire the water guns
for 10TL each) between the four jeeps. Be warned you get absolutely
soaked. You the have a break at a cafe and leave the guns and go to a
carpet factory which was a little boring. 5 minutes after that you go
for lunch (chicken, meatballs, omelet or fish {caught at the stream
next to the dining area} with chips and salad) which is included in
the price. However, it wasn't very nice and it was cold. Then you go
up the road to the waterfall which is very cold but really good.
Finally, you go to a beach where you can walk from one shore to the
other (about 250m) and it's only one foot deep. On the way back you
can choose to have another water fight or not. All in all a good day
and for 70TL you get a DVD of the video safari and a photo CD
(courtesy of the guide/camera man).
The pool area is spacious for the hotel. The pool is also a good size.
There are enough sun beds and you don't have to get up early for them
(we still got decently placed ones at 9.30). The two entertainers are
great with everyone (as long as you've come on holiday to enjoy
yourself and not be grumpy) including children. We didn't join in with
the games and they were fine with that but they would still ask. They
have a laugh with you and mess around but it isn't annoying if you
have a sense of humour. They do plenty of games and activities which
were fun to watch.
The night life in Marmaris varies. This is good for people who want
different things and variety in their holiday. We would usually go out
for dinner around 7.30 and walk down to the beach front. Be prepared
for a lot of hassle on the way down, they are only being friendly and
it's because they don't earn a lot of money. There are plenty of steak/
pizzeria restaurants along the beach and they are nice. Expect to pay
30TL for a fillet steak.
There are plenty of bars to keep you entertained. If you walk towards
the beach from the hotel (follow the spray paint beach arrows) you
will bump into Curly and Shaggy at a bar next to the Club Maric hotel.
If you get to know them they are hilarious and will sit and talk to
you. They do a nice full English breakfast for 6TL. If you go right
out of the hotel there are plenty of bars. Ibiza Restaurant, Adam&Eve and September Bar are good places to drink.
The pool bar (Sea Gull Bar) was not expensive compared to other hotels
I have visited. A cheeseburger with chips was 4.75TL and a pint of
Efes only 4.50TL. The service was quick and friendly.
We don't usually stay at the hotel for entertainment but we did one
night and it was really good. The entertainers put a lot of effort
into it and as mentioned before the prices for drinks are cheap for a
hotel bar. There always seemed to be lots of guests at the
entertainment as well which is a good sign.
Shopping in Marmaris is fantastic. I would recommend not bringing a lot
in your suitcase as you will want to take loads back.
We paid 40TL for 4 expensive fragrances (Armani Code etc.) then we got
8 for 50TL. I love Armani Code and although the packaging is slightly
different the smell is identical. There are thousands of jeans to
choose from and they are very good fakes. I paid from 45TL to 60TL for
jeans depending on the brand. Stick to your price you want but be
reasonable. Offer lower than you want to pay as your maximum and they
will come down as you go up.
The bazaar at the marina is good fun, haggling for a bargain is
entertaining.
On the last day you have to check out before 12.00 midday. However,
you can pay £12 (we paid 27.5TL) to keep the room until 9pm. They do
say you have to be out one hour before your transfer is due. It was
good that we could be at the pool all day and then shower and
pack.

Room was spacious with seperate bedroom and balcony, clean and basic, had everything you need. About 10 min walk to beach, lots of touts on way, best to ignore otherwise you'll never escape. If you're on beach, sunbeds are free and staff in all the cafes along the beach will bring you food and drink to your sunbed all day. Pool area good, lots going on and staff friendly and entertaining. Drinks are expensive, about £2 for a soft drink, found it easier to bring a bottle of water from local shop which was about 50p for a frozen bottle. I stayed with my boyfriend and we had a lovely holiday, but hotel is more suitable for families with young children. Reception staff were helpful, free air con in rooms. Never ate in hotel as there were so many restaurants in centre of Marmaris. Lots of nice restaurants but definitely some to avoid. If you can afford it, walk along to harbour which takes about 20 minutes, lots of seafood restaurants, about double the price of the main Marmaris restaurants but definitely worth it. We ate here twice and it cost about £50 for a meal for 2. All in all a great holiday, If I was back in Marmaris I would definitely stay in Club Turquoise, although if I'm after a quieter holiday I would definitely stay in Icmeler in future.

Just returned from the Club Turquoise again, 5th time in 5 years. Came back with big smiles on our faces again. Just went for a week's chill out this time. Staff are so friendly, and with the weather so hot it all added up to a brilliant holiday again. Different entertainment team this year, but they were good, we had planty of laughs. Will be back again next year! It is such a friendly place, I would definatley recomment it, especially for families, or just for people who like fun! Always well cleaned and looked after by the cleaning staff too!

Club Turquoise was probably one of the best hotels I've been to in terms of entertainment and atmosphere.
Our room was fine - good air con and a lovely balcony, showing the view of the big swimming pool and the mountains in the distance!
Ther staff were also lovely. Our cleaner was absolutely lovely and the staff at the pool were very nice. If we couldn't get a sunbed, Ozzy from the bar staff always got us some and at night he always got us chairs at the bar. All the bar staff were very curteous, polite and fun. I personally loved the dance routines the entertainers did at the pool everyday, and the music was great.
The food we ate there was also really good and both food and drink were good portions!
Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use facilities such as the sauna etc but we intend to go back to Club Turquoise next year anyway. I was pretty sad when we left because we met so many lovely people, both local and from other countries, and I miss the heat and atmosphere a LOT.

Me and my girlfriend went to Marmaris on the 24th of June this year abit worried about where we was staying.
The place was amazing i still can't think of anything which wasn't perfect about these apartments. The entertaiment staff where so much fun! Dennis (snoop dog), Nemo, Votka the 3 funniest blokes you will ever meet, they have activies all day every day.
10:30am Water Gym
11:30am Darts (which is a laugh)
2:00pm Pool Games such as playing about on surf boards
2:30pm Waterpolo (which i played everyday for 2 weeks!)
3:00pm Line Dancing in the water! (which was a laugh)
4:00pm Killer Pool
4:30pm Bingo
Then make sure you get to the bar for 7pm as it is happy hour on all drinks. (cocktails for about £1!)
they did enterainment every night such as BBQ night, pool party, steckh, dancers, etc etc
food was very nice but we didn't eat at the apartments much as there is so many resteraunts around you. this hotel is only a 5min walk from the beach front if you want to go out on the lash as there is alot of bars, clubs, fun bars and resteraunts!
i miss this place so much i am already looking at booking for next year!
if you are a boring old fart don't bother visiting this place because all the fun the staff want to get you involed in will annoy you.
P.s watch vokta as he finds it funny to put a plastic spider on you as you're sunbathing! it is funny watching people jump! :)

Got put in a basic room G4 - no balcony - noticed on 3rd day how nasty pillows smelt - on taking a look under pillow case realised how filthy they were, reported this to reception and Thomson Rep, to be told they are clean in April and get cleaned again end of season in october - anyone going on hols have to put up with this because they have no more pillows - slept rest of hols without a pillow!
complex quite scruffy and also staff are too annoying and nearly outnumber holidaymakers
