Amazing, going to book for next year for two weeks
from tashWorcestershire
A great place to stay if you like to be in a central location. We were worried it was going to be noisy, but suprisingly , it wasn't. Restaurants, bars, shops and taxi rank are just outside the entrance. Great restaurants:Shangai, Smile Garden, Two Brothers, Roumeli No 4. We're thinking of booking for next year at stella for two weeks. We travelled with friends as we were attending a wedding at St Pauls Bay. They stayed at apartments 5 mins walk away which were very busy. We were pleased we opted for Stella as these were lovely, and quieter. Only fault was air con, would rather cost was hidden with holiday price rather than extra cost and ours didnt work right. You really do need it as Pefkos is very hot. Hubby bitten by mosquitos alot. The beach was only a ten minute walk away. It costs 8 euros for two sunbeds and a parasol. The sand was extremely hot. Husband and friends had a great time sea fishing in a boat you can hire for about 50 euros for two hours. Wouldnt recommend for girly holidays or stag doos, more for a family holiday, who arent bothered about nightlife. Best holiday ever.
Great Hotel, Great Location.

The stella hotel is a great hotel for cheap getaway. The hotel is close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. Its about a 10 minte walk to the beach, but the pool is great to stay around. The grounds ae kept very clean and well presented. The pool is in three parts, with a great childrens swimming pool and a playground. The rooms are very spacious, with large balcony's, kitchen area and full bathroom with a bath and very powerfull shower. The only downsize was you had to pay for air con which is another 90 euros (for 2 weeks) w managed without but fr the last fw days (July) it was pretty unbearable at night, so i would recommend getting it. The are cleaned daily and nice fresh towels left. There are lots of lovely places to eat, and plenty of cheap places too. If you want to go shopping I suggest going into Lindos, lots more shops there and a great india called lindian indian! I would also suggest going to rhodes old town for the night, make sure you book it with anexternal compay rather than who you booked your holiday with as it is so muchchaper and you get longer. All in all this hotel is fabulous for a relaxing break. There was a great mix of families and couples so its recommended for all!
central location nice and clean apartments

Stella Apartments are in the centre of Pefkos near to beach, bars and restaurants. Our apartment was for 3 and was spacious with bedroom/living area plus kitchen and bathroom, had a sea view as on 2nd floor room 314, some apts face the other way. Pool area was nice with plenty of sunbeds and a nice snack bar. The apartment was cleaned every day during out 2 weeks with clean bedding & towels. Luckily although it was lovely weather being at the start of the season we did not need Air con as this was an added extra and quite expensive. Pefkos was a very nice friendly resort and had some lovely Restaurants and bars, we liked Two Brothers and Pefkos by night Bar. Would go back again as it was so laid back but with enough going on to keep you happy for two weeks, hired a car and went to Lindos and South of the Island, caught the local bus to Rhodes Town, if going to Lindos it is quiter to go mid afternoon when the coach loads of people have gone
Fantastic hotel & service!

The Stella Hotel is a lovely hotel with a nice clean pool and gorgeous food menu, the staff were fabulous throughout our two week stay and the rooms were large and clean. The rooms are very standard but for the price we paid i can't complain. Very near some lovely bars and restaurants and a short downhill walk to the beach. All in all this hotel wasn't far from perfect and me and my boyfriend are considering going back there this year!!!
Great time at Stella

My partner and I had a wonderful fortnight in Pefkos staying at the Stella Apartments. The apartments are centrally located in the town and although near to all the bars and restaurants it never felt noisy or busy. It was well equipped and cleaned 6 days out of 7. We had a great view out over the pool looking west to see the sunset every night although some apartments would have restricted or rear views. We tended to head down to the beach each day (choice of 3) although the pool looked inviting in the hot sun. Local shop was fine and had fresh bread and cakes most days. Worth paying extra for the AC which we did for our second week. Do get out of Pefkos and explore the island. There are some great sites to visit. Rhodes town is easy to do by bus from Pefkos and makes for a great contrast to the beach life. Lindos is worth a visit but go later in the afternoon when it is quieter. Was glad to be going home to Pefkos though - much more laid back than Lindos. We also spent a day in the mountains which was one of the best. Food at nearly every restaurant we tried in Pefkos and elsewhere was great. We've been lucky to have had some great holidays over the last few years but the fortnight spent in Pefkos and around the island of Rhodes definitely ranks as one of the best. We don't normally 'go back' to the same place as we like to explore but I could make an exception for Rhodos.
Loved the Stella!!!!!

We stayed at the Stella in July 2008 - have been to Pefkos before and this hotel did not dissappoint. Nice greeting at reception and rooms were nice, big and clean. Only thing I can say about room was that it was very warm - had to get air con which for 2 weeks was 90E - Was good price as hotel I stayed year b4 in Pefkos was 120E!!!! In room we had fridge, microwave and toaster!!! Pool area cleaned daily - pool is a little on the small side and at some points was crammed with kids and adults trying to swim!!!! Nice breakfasts but lunch is limited to just burgers etc...... Nice bakery and shop 2 mins away.....and loads of restaurants on your door step - we enjoyed Engima and Lindos Cuisine the best. A few cocktail places too but we found that prices have really gone up - in 2006 It cost 5E for 2 but now they are 5E each!!!! The beach is a good 10 min walk and was very hot - be sure to take water and the sand burnt my feet!!!!! Overall we loved the hotel and resort - would defo go back!!!!
good second choice
from pipey
first off the stella was not our first choice the pefkos beach was but we could not get in .we chose the stella because we had seen it before and it looked nice .we made a good choice the rooms were large and spacious we had most of the things you would expect from self catering but if you wanted a toaster you had to rent 1 a bit mean i thought but as we don,t cook in the room it did not bother us .we had room 301 on the bakery road we thought it would noisy from the traffic but is was ok .we did have incons iderate morons directly above us that kept dragging chairs across the floor most of the time they were in we found the staff fairly miserable the rep a waste of space she only spoke once and that was when she selling trips she ignored us the only other time we seen her i would reccomend this hotel to anyone but for a week because the beds are so hard and uncomfortable if you stayed for 2 weeks you would end up off work for a month with backache 1 of the nicest restaurants in the area is the anixes 10 minutes walk toward the top of the village vast menu good prices and the best chips on rhodes
Great location, spacious apartment

We took our 9 year old grandaughter for a week at the end of September, we had been to Pefkos 6 years ago staying at the Lindia Thalassa Apartments, although it was very nice there and close to the beach, we found the walk up the steep hill to town quite hard, especially in the heat, so this time we chose the Stella Aparts, we were not dissapointed, we arrived at 4.30 in the morning, local time, and was greeted by a nice young man, we got to our room and was very surprised at the size, we had opted for a one bedroom apartment, we have stayed in many Greek properties but this was good, spacious, very clean, nice furniture, two balconys which overlooked the lovely pool and the sea, the location was perfect, central to all the restaurants and shops, right next to the bus and taxi rank and not too far from the lovely beach which was still very busy for the time of year. We spent a few days relaxing on the beach at Lindos, the water in very shallow and warm, perfect for our grandaughter to snorkel and very safe. We took a taxi which is 7euros each way, the bus is 1.50 each way I believe, but we were on holiday and waiting around for buses was not on our agenda. The restaurants in Pefkos are very good and reasonable, we ate in a different one every night, the Terpsis was great, we sat in the open air and even in october it was still warm at night, never needed a jacket once, another we loved was Enigma, great fish. I think our favourite was the Kavos, a fair walk but a fabulous setting, on a cliff overlooking the sea, beautiful garden, when we were there before we came across it by chance, we had walked the full length of the beach and found a pathway up and found the little 'oasis', the new owners had not long taken it over and on our return this year we found it even better. We found it perfect for a lazy lunch, to get to it from the Stella, go left along the main road as far as possible, when you get to a fork in the road, there is a restaurant on the fork, cant think of the name, you go right, there is a sign, just follow the hill down and the Kavos is at the bottom. As for the Stella, the pool is lovely, lots of blow up things for kids to use and a small play area , but we did notice, as someone else commented, that towels were put on the sunbeds very early, this always aggrivates us, something we think the management should address, we only used the pool later in the day so cant comment on the the facilities at the hotel. We hired a car for one day from marathon cost 20 euros, we went up to Rhodes Town, we were going to get the bus but the car worked out cheaper and we visited some places on the way back. It would not be easy to cater for yourselves in the apartments, there were only one large and one tiny electric ring cooker, no oven and a microwave, a toaster could be hired from reception, but we were happy with nice fresh rolls and butter, we dont go on holiday to cook so it never bothered us but I know some families with small children like to cook. All in all we had a great time, we travelled with Thomas Cook and could not fault their service. Our grandaughter would love to go back next year, and she will probably get her way!
Stella Hotel excellent location
from Bubbles66Essex
The Stella Apart Hotel is very clean and the apartments are spacious. It is very well situated in the centre of Pefkos, but it wasn't noisy at all. The pool is a nice size with a couple of areas for little 'uns, plenty of sunbeds but people do put towels out early and then don't use them all day. We rented a car from Lindos Car Hire (located next to the Stella Supermarket) - very cheap small air con car for 3 days only 90E. Nice resturants - we went to Zorbas 3 times as the food was good and it was really reasonable (meal for 4 adults, 4 kids with drink about 80E), the Two Brothers resturant, Hellas Garden and Spitakis were also very good. We had a trip on the glass bottom boat which was excellent. I would definitely go back to Pefkos and stay in the Stella Hotel again. The only downside I found was the lack of entertainment - the hotel has plenty of room but the one night of entertainment when we were there was cancelled. You need to go to other hotels for the entertainment - Amphriti Hotel does a superb greek night and Summer Memories is good for karaoke.
super stella hotel

We stayes at the stell aparthotel in June 08. It was our first time to rhodes and we werent dissapointed. its a beautiful island and the resort of pefkos it totally unspoilt. The stella is in the centre of pefkos and is near to all the restraunts. tavernas. Its a 10 minute walk to the beach and to the glass bottom boat that takes you into lindos if you wished. I would reccomend it and it takes you all round the little coves and inlets and into the stunningly beautiful St pauls bay. The hotel was very clean and the rooms had all that you needed. fresh towels and linen were changed daily. the pool was very clean and there were plenty of sunbeds. Try the smile restraunt thats next to the enigma restraunt.. It doesnt have the frills and surroundings like the enigma or the nostalgia, but the food i would say was just as good if not better. Some previous reviews state that you will never get a bad meal in pefkos, well they are right. they are enough restraunts that you dont get bored as their is a lot of variety. we were originally intending to stay in lindos for the 2 weeks. Lindos is lovely but very busy with tourists so glad we opted for pefkos. Will definitely return to stella. one thing, watch what you get charged for air con. we were quoted 190 euro for two weeks.( very expensive) and other guests were quoted more/less. it was very hot when we were they and decided to pay for the air con the second week and got it for 50 euro.
We have been going to Pefkos for the last 5 years staying in various places, we had always ssen the Stella Apartments so thought we would stay there in August 2010 for our summer holiday. whilst the room was always clean and spacious, the bar area was pleasant, the location... more
