Club Armar
We have just returned from our annual holiday in Marmaris where we stayed at the Club Armar Hotel. Like most families we saved up for the holiday and looked forward to the good times and relaxing in a 4 star hotel during our stay. My wife, my 18 year old daughter and I arrived at the hotel and were allocated a small room at the rear of the hotel with only 2 single beds, we pointed out that we had paid for a room for three adults but were told that the hotel was over full and that this was all they had. After hours of complaining an OLD UNDERSIZED CAMP BED that frequently collapsed was squeezed into the room which I slept on for four days until following endless complaining a new room was issued complete with 3 single beds. Other guests were moved to self a catering accommodation down the street, stacked 4 in a room and in one instance we learnt that a group of 10 lads were all put in ONE room!
Having got a new room we learnt that there were not enough towels to go round all the guests of the hotel so even after endless complaining we were not given towels for 3 days then only two were allowed. You needed to ask for towels on a daily basis to allow you to shower. There were no pillow slips or sheets on the bed for 1 night as the hotel “did not have any clean ones”.
Toilet paper was best provided by stealing it for the reception toilet as asking for it could take hours.
The food in the hotel in the words of ONE OF THE MANAGERS WAS “[--]”! It consisted of chips, chicken nuggets, burgers, salad, cheese, water melon and cake repeated EVERY DAY!!! The cheese under the top layer was green with mould where it had been left while new was added on the top. The food is a standing joke in all the surrounding restaurants who capitalise on the fact that people need to eat so go out and buy food. The 2No restaurants nearest the hotel have a direct connection with the hotel and during the day different hotel staff can be seen working in them including the cook. This gives the hotel a win, win situation as you do not eat their food then pay to eat food in their restaurants! There are no snacks or ice creams available at this hotel at ANY time of the day other than a helping of dry cake dished out on a table at 5PM unless you pay for them.
The ALL INCLUSIVE drinks consisted of a small selection of tea or coffee, cheap soft drinks, larger, red and white vinegar/wine WATERED DOWN vodka or gin. I ordered a vodka on the rocks to taste it without a mixer, I would estimate that drink was around 70% water with just enough vodka to give a little taste when mixed with a soft drink. That was the FULL extent of the drinks allowed unless you paid for it in their restaurants of further afield. The hotel was that tight that you were only allowed two drinks per bar visit and the bar clock was set ten minutes fast to allow them to shut the bar early so that you had to leave and buy your drinks elsewhere.
Most of the staff were friendly other that a few white collar workers who thought they were gods. The young manager mentioned previously was an arrogant, egotistical man who loved to shout at guests telling them that HE ran the hotel and that if you did not like it TUFF! I witnesses several confrontations with the guests were he insulted them particularly young females and people just sick of his attitude towards them, even his own staff disliked him. The 4 number entertainment staff were a good set of lads who did their best on a shoestring budget to entertain the guests through the day and night. These 4 lads made the stay in the hotel tolerable but it would have been nice to have more professional shows.
The hotel has the potential and the facilities to offer 4star accommodation but due to the poor management, food and drink mentioned above I would not even consider the hotel to be a 2 STAR.
We ate out most days In order to feed and entertain my family over our two week stay at the hotel costing me around a THOUSAND pounds but it was better than eating and drinking the rubbish at the hotel!
I wish that I had read and taken advice from all the other bad reviews of this hotel prior to my holiday. I would not stop in this hotel ever again and warn any potential guest to alter their booking, do not book this hotel in the first place or take plenty of money!!!

I stayed in this hotel with my daughter and i have to say i was worried after reading the reviews but all in all we had a really good holiday. Our room was cleaned daily, the poolside entertainment was brilliant and the entertainment team are so good with children. The evening entertainment wasn't great for adults but my daughter loved it and as long as she is entertained and happy then that suited me. Yes the food is not great but we made do for the week and went out to eat a few times. The turkish bath was amzing as is defiently a must do! The staff were all really friendly and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area. I think it was a good value for money holiday!

I have just returned from a 1wk break in Club Amar Hotel. We had booked our all inclusive family room to be told on our arrival that there were no rooms available and we would have to stay in apartments accross the street. I declined this and told the receptionist I wanted to speak with the manager. The manager then got us a family room which consisted of a double bed and 1 single bed for 5 people!!! The manager said this was all he could offer us and "if I didnt like it to get my suitcases and leave his hotel". This was after midnight on the night we arrived! Eventually we got 2 matresses from a scottish night porter at 2am from another hotel which we slept on for the week. There were many people who were told the same thing that there were no rooms for them in the hotel when they arrived. The food was very very basic and repeatative. There is no way i would eat this "food" at home and I certainly wasnt going to eat it in Turkey so we ate out for the week. Evening entertainment was very poor and given we were all inclusive we were only allowed 2 drinks at any one time in the evening (even though there was 5 of us in our party) who were all drinking soft drinks. When I spoke to the manager about this I was told "thats the way it is and I make the rules". On an evening after the entertainment lights in the stage area was switched off at 11pm even when people were finishing off their drinks or chatting by the pool. Our room was cleaned once in the week we stayed there. The staff and management of this hotel are extremely arrogant and rude and there is no way I will be returning or advise anyone to visit this hotel. This hotel was a complete diaster and service is non exsistant. Customers definately do not take priority in this hotel. This hotel is definately not 4 star it would struggle to be a 2 star hotel in the UK.

Wow there's a really lot of bad reviews on this site but I returned last week from a 2 week stay with 5 members of my family 2 of them being young teenagers and we all loved it.
When we arrived we were shown to our Family room which consisted of 6 single beds but it was clean and also had very good air con (which was definatley needed). Because it was the start of the season the hotel was only just fulling up but the 2 entertainers who worked around the pool (bald 1 & 1 with long hair) were really nice and always tried to get us to join in on the pool activities which we did after a while and it was good fun, the pool was pretty deep but you could use the pool at the front of the hotel which was alot shallower, you could also get plenty of snacks from the front bar free of charge.
The room was cleaned on a daily basis although on 1 or 2 occassions the maid didnt leave enough clean towels for the 6 of us but after we had a word at reception they always left more after that.
The food which seems to be everyone's gripe about this place wasnt great but it was edible, there was plenty of salad, bread, chips and pizza, the restaurant was always full so it cant have been that bad??? We did eat out quite alot but we also ate alot at the hotel.
All in all it was a great holiday, i'd definatley go again. If your thinking of going, just give it a go - remember EVERY 1 has different tastes- you never know you mite love it!

After reading reviews online i'll be honest i wasnt very happy about the hotel and had second thoughts...but still went ahead, when we arrived the hotel looked very nice our rooms we're ready straight away and the hotel receptionists were very polite.
The food was lovely, really enjoyed it, we met a couple in the lift who complained about the food to us...they said 'it's all too turkish for us' just shows the kind of idiots that are complaining about the food, i mean what did u expect a bacon sarni and a chip butty?! for god sake get a grip!
all in all i loved it, the hotel staff we're absolotely lovely and have got that british banter about them, the rooms we're tidy with the maid coming in everyday to tidy up.
the locals are really nice and friendly...also we did 6 days worth of excursions all for £54 a complete BARGAIN!! this included, turkish bath, quad biking, a boat trip to local islands for the full day, turkish folk night, jeep safari and more. this excursion place is just down the road from club armar called 'white house' the blokes are absolotely hilarious as well!
i think i've written enough, but i did have a cracking time in turkey and evrything was lovely...so if u see a bad review just ignore it and go judge it for yourself. :)

Don't Go Here !!

Dear all i went here recently and it's the worst holiday i have ever had.
Don't waste your money.
I have written complaints etc and i would suggest that if you have paid by Credit card to try and get a refund from them.
My main complaints are as follows:
The problems i have encountered are as follows:

1= On arrival at the hotel we were informed that we had to pay extra for air conditioning in the room. This was news to me because i was told it was included.
Then we are informed that we had no choice to pay as it was part of the contract with "gold trail"
I refused to pay for this item as it seemed absoultley amazing that i would have to pay for something which you stated was included.

2= arrived late at the hotel and when everyone woke up they all needed to get some food. This was fine until we were all informed that if we wanted food that we would have to pay extra as it was not included. I explained that i booked this particular holiday as i was on a budget and that it made sense to book an all inclusive as we would not have to worry about money etc when we arrived. I also informed them that my partner was pregnant and that she needed to eat to which the rep informed me that we would need to go out and pay for it.

3= The hotel is rated as a four star???? This is clearly not correct and the handout from the rep on the coach even stated on it that it was rated by them as a four star and is not an official rating.

4= Food in the hotel is warm

5= Basic things which i was told by you that would be included are not included. i.e. the use of internet is at this moment 2 pounds per hour. Pool is to be paid for etc etc. This is not right and blatently a breach of the terms and conditions of what i agreed on.

6= Many other people have also travelled through the same company and are not happy with the same problems but when we complained we were told that we were cheap and that a lot of money to us is not a lot of money to the hotel manager. How arrogant and rude is that?.

7= The indoor pool is not heated, informed that it was.

8= We were informed that our free, inclusive, drinks finished at 2130 hours and that all drinks after that would need to be paid for. Again i refused to pay and spoke to that manager who stated point 6. And that we should speak to our rep. Thats great. so what we should do is go to bed at 2130 as we are not allowed to drink after this time??. I don't think so. What made this part even worse is that other people who booked through different companies can have free drinks until 2330. Thanks.

9= There is no entertainment whatsoever. If we wanted to use anything we need to pay extra.

10= There are cats running aroiund in the hotel, in the restraunt area.

11= I have spoken to one of the holiday reps "Fiona" on the day of arrival and she stated that she would speak to certain people and one of those people was yourselves. The following day i asked the other female rep if there was any reply to which i was informed that there was not.
As you can see there are lots of issues with the place and i would never go there again. One rep from a different company stated that he would never go there either.
Also i would like to add that the people whom have rated this as a good holiday clearly need to re-examine what you would expect in a 4* AI. Because i certainly did not find it here. One female whom my aprtner and myself met whilst complaining at the drinks part, even agreed with several points we made and she would be one of the people whom seemed to love it.
Take my advice and steer clear of this Hotel.
