We took our 3rd holday at Sunny Days in July, Ya Ya Maria is so welcoming and lovely. Amy and Peter behind the bar cant do enough for you. The rooms are very clean and Sunny Days is in a great location for touring the beautiful island of Kos.We'll be back very soon.

Just returned from a very nice relaxed holiday in kos, we were staying at Sunny days, Tingaki. Its a lovely little village very friendly people only a short walk to a very nice beach. The Hotel was very nice, clean and very friendly staff would definitely return to Kos, i would advice people to get a quad or scooter to travel, as we seen alot of the island that was and just did what we wanted. There are some nice bars in Tigaki but also only 15minutes on the bus to kos town where you can also visit the old town which is lovely and nice shops!
Enjoy your holidays and the nice people at Sunnydays!

Amazing most friendly staff EVER!!!
10 / 10
Jul 2011, Angela :o)

Just back from 2wks hol at Sunny Days and met the most friendly team of staff ever. Arrived early hours and had no euros changed which was not a problem as staff not only stayed up and allowed us to have everything (food/water/air con)til we got to bank next day.. The lovely Maria then drove us in her car the following day to a nearby bank as our cards wouldnt work in local atm.
I cannot praise or compliment the staff specifially Maria and Amy who made my stay a very welcome one. The rooms were cleaned every day and as the beach was so close there was no race for sunbeds at pool. Nearby restruants esp 'Sagatarius' food was the nicest Ive ever ate on any holiday abroad.... Why anyone has the cheek to complain about Sunny Days or its staff astounds me...... There was nothing too much trouble for them and they went above and beyond what I would expect from any hotel.
I got a very cheap deal but recieved the highest quality service from Sunny Days..... Maria and Amy you were both the best would def recommend Sunny Days... I'll def be going back!!!!!
Thanks again Maria/Amy and everyone else at Sunny Days.... Angela H

have been coming to this hotel for the last 12 years, with whole family and now also grandchildren and their friends - we love it here - and will continue to visit as often as we can. maria, spyros and their family welcome us as their own and have always been helpful and friendly in every way. - love the tuesday BBQ's spyros is a great cook, drinks are definetely up to standard and at great rates, with friendly/funny amy & peter making yor evening even better.
free wi-fi is also a great asset especially for the kids ;-) - REALLY don't know what people are complaining about - the staff are friendly and seem happy enough doing an admittedly difficult job under any circumstances ( housekeeping), and even stay around after they have finished their shift and mingle with the guests --- will be back in september ( without the teens) thanks for YET AGAIN a great time

Sunny 'but not happy' Days

Stayed at Sunny Days for 2 weeks in June/July.
Definately would not recommend anyone to stay here. The rooms were a bit more basic than expected. One DIRTY fridge, built into the sink unit.. didnt work! another fridge next to it that did work but looked as if it had been looted from Steptoe & Sons back yard! I think it was white but hard to tell with all the chips and scratches on it.My son in next room never had a working fridge for 2 weeks, it was never sorted out. When we arrived we had no water and someone came to sort that out and the electric sockets that didnt work too... its almost as if we took them by surprise by arriving, and we we'd had a 4 hr delay but the room still wasnt ready for guests!!Curtains hanging by a thread, wardrobe with sliding doors, yes, you guessed it, they didnt slide, lighting that could have been put to shame by a single candle, and don't even get me started on the bathroom!just downright dangerous, no shower curtain, shower not fixed had to use it by hand, floor with a silly little step in it almost un-noticeable that you could easily have broken your neck on had you slipped and the flooded floor, as the water never went away.
Maria(the owner) and family were very ignorant, its almost as if having guests was spoiling their day.Loads of family gatherings, eating and general partying in the lounge,it was almost like being in their home..we felt like intruders.Another thing, Maria likes LOUD music, we asked the barman if he could turn it down a bit, then Maria comes and turns it up again, she doesnt care about what the guests think, not very hospitable. The barman Peter was just the opposite, very friendly and helpful as were all the staff. If anyone got on with Maria it must be because she liked them, but sadly if that is the case....she doesnt like 99% of her guests.
She seemingly doesnt like her staff either, who work ridiculous hours and just get abuse from her, she's shouting and barking at them most of the time.If the rooms are not too clean you cant blame the staff for not putting their heart and soul into it as they have so much work to do and are totally unappreciated, the rooms are tatty..and you cant clean tat,I felt so sorry for them, the whole place needs a facelift. One night at the bar the resident dog had weed on the floor and she made Peter clean it up and then get back behind the bar,she was playing computer games at the reception desk!!The pool needs cleaning too, more often than it is..if it is.I was glad when it was over,Kos is brilliant would go again but definately NOT stay at Sunny Days...beware

sunny days, nothing bright about this place

first impressions of sunny days are not to bad, until you get in the room with the rustied, corroded non working fridge no air con or fan(available at a charge)no kettle(ask at reception).A radio hanging out of the wall(of course not working, some rooms have t.v as stated but some do not.The rooms are basic, but kind of expected this.Rooms are cleaned everyday by delightful girls viki and loredana, towels changed and bins emptied. The bar is very quiet, but peter the barman is very friendly and engaging.Pool area is quite small but never too crowdied, but could be cleaned more often.Food at the snack bar varied from very good to inedible at times. The main problem i have with sunny days as i see in many reviews is Maria and her family who own and run the hotel.I found them too be ignorant, non engaging, non approachable and completely dismisive of my prescence.all the time we were there i got one hello between maria her husband two daughters and son, they were also very rude and disrespectful to their staff. In the hospitality business you need to be hospitable, its no wonder the hotel was only a third full the whole time we were there, they made me feel like i was in the way a nuisance they had to put up with.Genarally the hotel is crumbling, all around you see disrepair a lack of paint, items hanging loose and equipment turned off.Although all this did not dampen my holiday i certainly would not recommend sunny days for a vacation.

I have been going to Tingaki for 18 years and spent the last 10 years residing at sunnydays....after reading some of the reviews i find it very difficult to believe Maria is uncoperative and ignorant. Yes the accomodation is a little dated and basic as stated when booking, but the staff are wonderful and friendly as are the cleaners. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and bins emptied, also kitchens cleaned and sheets and towels changed. The food is lovely, fresh and excellent value for money. The barman and bar area are great and cater for all ages, there is WiFi, pool tables, computer games and music also friday night Greek night.
Tingaki is a wonderful place as are the surounding areas, Zia, Kos Town, Kefalos and many more.
Please do not be put off buy some of the negative coments on here..I have been to many 5 star hotels and hated every minute of being there. I holiday at sunnydays every year for 2-3 weeks and i can not wait to get back there.
See you soon Maria....HAPPY DAYS AT SUNNY DAYS!!!!!
OH YES AND THE PICTURES ABOVE ARE NOT OF SUNNDAYS TINGAKI...I AM NOT SURE WHERE THEY ARE FROM.

Not the best, but don't panic if you're already booked in!

We just came back from Sunny Days - stayed for 2 weeks.
Needless to say, some of the online reviews we found, having booked last minute with Thomas Cook, left us nervous!! A brief summary would be: Not great, but not the end of the world!! If you are toying with booking, would not recommend.
(If you're scouting around we used a local travel company called Theokratis Travel for trips out there who also do basic apartments. If their apartments are at all like their travel business, these rooms are bound to be good and professionally run.)
A more detailed account of Sunny Days below:
Bedroom - At first sight, simple but clean... ish. They change the linen approx. 1/week. Floor cleaned/bins changed every day except Sundays.
One problem is that the self-catered units are attached to the walls and I would imagine fairly hard to clean properly underneath (not that I'm convinced they try too hard!). On our second night, we came back to find a cockroach crawling on our cooker. A member of staff kindly knocked it to the floor, crushed it underneath his foot and kicked it out onto the balcony. He would've left it at that had I not insisted they spray our room with anti-cockroach spray - of which they had a tellingly large supply!! Our Olympic Holidays rep assured us that such things were par for course in hot countries but that is, of course, rubbish. Cockroaches are symptomatic of uncleanliness. The rep also told us not to stamp on any others we found as, if they were carrying babies, the progeny could explode out of the womb alive!! How reassuring. Anyway, I had some anti-insect spray of my own which I kept by my bed for the rest of our stay. Never needed to use it however - found one more dead cockroach in the corner of the room a couple of days later and that was it. I think that's probably because we had it sprayed regularly, avoided having any food in the room (a bit ironic in self-catered) and worked on keeping the room cool and light in the evening which roaches don't like.

The light fittings are pretty poor so at night the room can suddenly look like a seedy prostitute's parlour. But that might be a bonus for some!
Cooking with the provided utensils would be a challenge, certainly not a pleasure. We didn't attempt more than cereal and milk.
Only one visible socket, which is the TV socket.
The bathroom is a bit odd - a small all-in-one cubicle with no shower curtain and they don't even supply hand soap.
They charge 35 Euro/week for air con and 25 for the safe but we did a bit of research and that's fairly normal for budget hotels in the area.
Maria, the proprieter, has an unusual approach. She shrugged when I told her about the cockroach, "It's hot. What do you want me to do?" She generally ignored us the rest of the time, which was fine by me. She does however own a very cute and characterful dog.
The cleaning girls and bar-staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was a moody teenager who manned reception sometimes so I decided he might be Maria's son.
The pool was missable: not hugely clean, bad tiling and ageing sun loungers. Just go to the beach which is lovely!!
Our balcony was never cleaned, and obviously hadn't been cleaned when we arrived. It supported the air conditioning unit (not all rooms have air con btw - some have fans for a cheaper rate which we were not told). A pipe stemming from the air con fed into a large fanta bottle which you had to empty once or twice a day or the balcony became mildly flooded.
We were on the first floor - wouldn't like to be in the basement (Lord knows what lives down there!).
So the above all sounds rather negative I realise but honestly, after the first few days, all these things ceased to bother as we were having such a nice time. And you just get used to it so don't worry if you're already booked in!!
Good points:
Free wifi
Some very lovely staff
Next door to a big supermarket
Tingaki is a very nice resort which a great beach!
The cute dog!

Just spent a week at Sunny Days, Tingaki and have never in all our years holidaying in Greece stayed at such a run down and dirty apartment complex. Our room was dated and resembled something out of the 1960s', we had two fridges, one that had been turned into a cupboard and the other hosting green mould. When using the shower the entire bathroom flooded, the curtains were hanging off the curtain poles and sporting dead mosquitos. The mattress on one of the beds was ripped and smelt of wee and the sofa area was covered in stains. We had no working air-conditioned despite being advised when we booked there was and as temperatures were 29 degrees on a night found it very uncomfortable to say the least. We were kept awake until after 4.00 am most evening by the noise from the main road just outside our patio door and by other people still using the pool at 2.00 am. During our stay there was no evidence of the pool being cleaned and looked dirty along with the sunbeds. Needless to say we spend very little time. This is the second time we have been to Tingaki and I would definitely go again but would give Sunny Days a very wide berth.

Good value for money. Have usualy paid same or more for just a room, not bar, internet pool ect. My room, no 6 was ok, clean sheets every day, glad i took ear plugs for the the road noise though as i live somewhere quiet.
I would go back here as tingaki is nice resort and a good base to tour the island,s excellent beaches.
I found hotel owners pleasant and always available, the nice girl in the bar was really good.
