Reviews of Club 55 Hotel, Marmaris

It was our first time in turkey. My wife grandson who is six years old and myself. We were expecting a great holiday at this hotel. And when we arrived everything seemed ok.



The porter insisted on taking our cases. To our room. But when entering our room we found it very basic and I mean basic two single beds if you can call them beds and no bed for the child. So they put a mattress on the floor with a couple of sheets. The head boards are made of conti board stuck on the wall and the beds are made of the same we complained immediately and they said we would have to see the rep. Which took a day before he came we went to the pool to look around witch looked nice. Then found the games room they call it table tennis table in two half’s billiards table not any better children’s garden. I wouldn’t let my dog do the toilet in it.




The food was disgusting. When asking the chef what a certain thing was he didn’t know and had to ask one of the waiters. When you walk out of the hotel. It is opposite a grave yard. Even the staff said they would not eat there they eat out.




It cost us £350 to move. And it took four and a half days to get a move. The rep long haired git told us it would be £200 to move one day but when we phoned him the next two days when we finally contacted him he said it would be £350 we paid it just to get out of it. Every body who paid thought it was a rip off we met others at the hotel we moved to had to do the same. And they thought it was a scam.




So be warned don’t go to club 55 armutalan Marmaris

The hotel was basic and a bit far away from the action, but that was not a problem because there is a good bus service that operates throughout the resort. I am not a picky eater and tend to like different foods but the food was gross! there was very often only one choice of hot meal and the same salad choices were trotted out day after day!. Breakfast is a sight to behold, peeled hard boiled eggs and hot dog sausages ... yummy!



There was absolutely no entertainment whatsoever and we got the impression that they didn’t actually want you to stay in the hotel drinking their free booze.



We were lucky to have a room overlooking the pool, but some unfortunates got a nice view of a graveyard and wasteland.



The pool area was quite frankly dangerous and had we had children we would have moved to another hotel.



I would not recommend this hotel, but then saying that I did see some even worse hotels whilst out and about round marmaris!

This hotel wasn’t even a 1 star rating. The food wasn’t cooked; there were no all day snacks, no free ice cream, and no entertainment at all for the whole two weeks we stayed there.



We asked to be moved but was told we had to pay extra. The manager was very rude. The snack was a piece of dry cake at 5 o’clock every day, the breakfast was boiled eggs and cut up hot dogs and the food wasn’t cooked in the middle i.e. the meat.



The beer was flat and you only had 1 choice of lager, hardly any choice of local shorts. We had a graveyard over the road and a helicopter landing pad behind us, the same cd was played every day at the bar. The manager of the dining room didn’t like it if you ordered more than 1 drink at a time so how can it be an all inclusive? We spent a lot of extra money at this hotel so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The hotel is very clean, but very basic. We spent very little time in the hotel room, so wasn’t really bothered about that although we weren’t left towels for 3 days despite constantly asking and ended up buying one.



There is a very large pool, which compared to a lot of the hotels in the area was a bonus. The food was ok - for about 3 days and then we were absolutely sick of tomato and cucumber (which they serve with everything!). We then ate out which proved to be very cheap and much better quality. There is no entertainment in the evening at the bar, but we stayed for the free drinks until 11pm and then went into the town.



Everyone was really friendly and we even went out with the holiday rep and some of the waiters, which meant we probably got to see places a lot of the locals go to. For a cheap holiday I would go again to this resort, although if I was taking children I wouldn’t be impressed as the food is very different and there is a lot of noise from the music.

Well what can I say?? The hotel was grubby, the food was awful, the pool was dirty, the all inclusive was a joke and the entertainment well there was none! Oh and we had to swap rooms as ours had a broken bed with dirty sheets and a used condom as a welcoming present when we arrived at 05:30 am!. Mmmmmm nice! When we told the rep he was so stoned he didn’t know what day of the week it was! Apart from that and messing up our transfers up so we nearly missed our flight he was grrrrrreat!. Despite all this I really can’t complain as we only paid £99 for a week and that was refunded after we complained but judging by the food there really is no such thing as a free lunch at club 55!

Well the club 55 hotel is fairly basic, but very clean. The food was quite good but we never made it to breakfast so do know about that. Our biggest complaint was there was no entertainment, just the bars cd collection that was dated, macarena every night!!! We asked if they would play one of our cd's but they said no.



As for the all inclusive drinks, you have the choice of vodka(which had a foosty taste, like wet dog) gin, brandy, beer, wine and of course raki! The bar is all inclusive until 11 then after that it is 4000'000(£2) a drink, and the coke is cheap rola cola! The staff at club 55 were so friendly, we even went clubbing with one of the waiters and the chef one night, then when we came in at 5 in the morning we would always speak to the boy on the reception desk and the security man, very friendly people. I’m sure the rep in the hotel was stoned every time we spoke to him, he was not so helpful.



Overall i would go back to this hotel if it was a cheap holiday, my sister and i are early 20s so weren’t to fussy about food and accommodation, so we thought it was fine, i don’t know if older couples would like it the same. All the other guests (all british) were friendly too, had a good laugh at night before heading off to bar street. Oh one more thing for the all inclusive, on the last day it finishes at 12 noon, our transfer didn’t pick us up until midnight so we had to buy food and drink that day even thought we paid for 7 days all inclusive we only got 6!! This annoyed a lot of other guests.



We paid £190 from glasgow for 1 week.



We thought it was good for this price but wouldn’t pay much more.
