Excellent studios in a lovely location and spotlessly clean too. A nice pool and the water was very warm. A lovely beach which was only 5 mins walk away. We found the sea to be cooler than other Greek islands, due to the rivers flowing in to them. The best taverna by far was Valentino's, the food, service and atmosphere were all excellent and very reasonably priced too. Also worth a mention are Nostos and Georgia's. The little green train was excellent for trips to Lappa and the nearby lake and was very cheap too. The only bad thing about the holiday was the transfer from Heraklion Airport. It took 2 hours 40 mins each way. That was a nightmare as our original flight was due to fly to Chania. Thomas Cook no longer fly to Chania.

Stayed at Leonidas Studios the last...
7 / 10
Nov 2007, Ms W S

Stayed at Leonidas Studios the last week of the season, October half term. The apartments are adequate with basic facilities. The downside was; the bathroom drain smelt and the blankets, which we needed this time of year, were stained. The cleaner comes in every day except Sunday and towels, bed linen get changed after 3 days. Pool is small, but ok for the number of apartments there, quite cold in October. The owner of the apartments came and shook hands and said goodbye to everyone when we left, which was a nice touch.
We flew from Birmingham with Air Malta, it stopped at Santorini on the way to drop off and pick up passengers, so it took 5 ½ hours. There were 2 films and the meals included were usual standard for flight meals.
Georgioupolis was very quiet half the shops and tavernas were closed for the season, so we didn’t see it at it’s best. The rep lives there and said that lots of people return every year. The beach is lovely you can walk a long way.
The buses run hourly to Chania (20 past the hour-E3.70, takes 40 mins) and Rethymnon (10 past the hour-E3, takes 25mins), you buy your tickets at the hut before you get on the bus. To get to the bus stop walk past the bakery (signposted) take the next left and this’ll bring you safely to the highway. Chanias old town and harbour is nice. Rethymnon had a ruin of the old town where you pay to visit. The town is lovely with individual shops little alleyways like the Marrakech without the chaos.
You can walk or take the village toy train(!) to lake kournas the only fresh water lake on the island. Here you can hire pedal boats and there are a couple tavernas. Definitely worth a visit.

We have been to Georgi three times...
8 / 10
May 2006, Mrs V Read

We have been to Georgi three times now and these apartments were the best. The apartments are superbly located. They are close enough to the beach and two mini-markets. The main square is a couple of minutes walk away. They are in a quiet location so you do not get disturbed at night.
Our apartment slept four, there was a twin bedded room and a double bed in the main room. The only downside was the kitchenette was very small with little worktop space to prepare food. This did not bother us too much as there were plenty of good tavernas nearby. The apartment was clean, maid service was good and the owner George was very friendly. The pool was of an adequate size with a separate children’s pool, shallow enough for toddlers.
Our children liked the children’s park which was close by and opened every evening and was completely safe and enclosed. We could sit and have a meal and drink there whilst watching them play - perfect!
We thoroughly recommend Georgioupolis and the Leonidas apartments. We met several people who returned regularly to both.
Kosmar are cheap and the rep was good but the flights let them down. The planes (Aegean) were old and tatty. There was no in-flight entertainment at all and the food was rubbish. The plane returned to Birmingham via Bristol where we had to get off and go through customs again! When you just want to get home this is a drag!
Georgioupolis - 10/10
Leonidas 8/10
Kosmar 7/10
Aegean Airlines 1/10

These apartments are in an ideal...

These apartments are in an ideal location, several minutes away from the beach, Village Square and Tavernas. There is maid service available every day except Sunday, linen and towel change is every 3rd day and the apartments are kept extremely clean with some lovely finishing touches by the staff. There is a small pool on-site that seems to cater well for the establishment when fully occupied.
After visiting Zante on 4 occasions, Santorini, Skiathos, Rhodes and Cyprus I would put this accommodation as the best and Georgioupolis itself as a lovely resort with some lovely Tavernas.
Its an ideal place from which to base and visit the West of the Island.
My opinion is such that I would not hesitate to return.
