This was a remarkably good value holiday so we were expecting the worst when we arrived. The apartments were set outside of Hersonnisos away from the main tourist section on a hillside. It was a reasonable walk into town so wouldn’t be suitable for anyone not happy with a few hills but the views made up for it and a walk into town on an evening was very pleasant.
The apartments were clean with reasonable facilities, the only downside was that the beds were all twins and couldn’t be moved, so not quite as romantic for couples!
The village of Koutouloufari was very picturesque, wonderful to walk around at night and with an excellent selection of restaurants.
The apartments shared a very clean, if cold, pool, with snack bar, TV and sunloungers. There was a small shop and bakery just outside the complex for fresh bread in the morning.
The weather in September was beautiful and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend hiring a car and exploring the island though as the tourism in Hersonnisos became a bit much after a day or two. Trips to Knossos, Ag Nic, Via, etc all recommended.
