First impressions of the Hotel were good as we pulled up in the coach, it was clean and well maintained. Huge grounds with 4 swimming pools.
All in all it was a good holiday, the weather was great and lots of children for my kids to play with. The hotel though if far too expensive, 2.5 euros a day per sunbed, cocktails 5.8 euros when they are on 1.5 euros outside the resort which is why in the evening after dinner, there is a mass exit from everyone staying to find other local bars and restaurants. This is a shame as the hotel would be much better off reducing their prices and getting people to stay there.
The entertainment was poor, although I think the animation team tried, it was almost too embarrassing to watch, even my 7 yr old got bored. Luckily we found some great local bars otherwise I think my husband would have been on the next plane home.
Loved Corfu but would not go back to this hotel.

The complex is large and set in lovely gardens next to the beach. The rooms are basic but clean, the food is good and the staff are very friendly. It is a safe place for the children to play and there are lots of things to do. The prices in the hotel are more expensive than in the resort but there are lots of good places to eat and drink in the resort. Corfu is a beautiful island and it is well worth hiring a car to explore.

Jul 2004, Miss C Peebles

Not the best holiday I have ever had but not as bad as some make out - rooms are basic but clean, pools are nice but you have to pay for a sunbed which we only ever ended up using for an hour or two as it was so hot.
Food was better than I thought and I always found something I could eat but for breakfast I would have bread and Jam and some funny tasting coffee as the alternative was Frankfurters and very hard boiled eggs. There are a lot of German people here and the entertainment and food does tend to be more geared towards them but overall it was okay.
The surrounding resort of Moratika and Messonghi are nice though and quite cheap, you can also walk up into the old town which is lovely with lots of lemon trees or spend the day in Corfu Town which was beautiful

Colditz in Corfu, This massive...

Sep 2003, Mrs B Key

Colditz in Corfu, This massive complex was the worst place that we have ever stayed. The brochure pictures looked great, and with two boys with us aged 10 and 12 we decided to upgrade to a spacious bungalow near the beach, The bungalow turned out to be little more than a garage with four beds squashed in one room and it had cost us £300 more.
Still we decided to check out all the activities for the kids. They turned out to be a small games room, and a few swings, complete with very unfriendly security guards. Still we had our dinners to look forward to, the brochure had said that this international hotel caters for all tastes, sadly not ours, after the third day we ate out. The was an extensive range of nighttime entertainment on offer which would have been ok if any of us had spoke German,(by the end of the second week I think we all spoke it fluently).
At the end of the first week we hired a car and made a break for freedom, we toured the island, which has many beautiful places, but then we had to return only to be interrogated by the guard on the front gate before he would let us back in. I made several complaints to our rep concerning our room and the food, she tried to be helpful but there was little she could do, and it said it all when she told me that she was leaving at the end of the week because she’d had enough of the place.
On arrival back in England I made a complaint to Sunwin Travel after a lot of letter writing, they sent me a voucher to use against my next holiday booked with them. I sent it back telling them that I had no intention of booking with them again. Corfu is a lovely place and I would love to go back, but definitely not to Messonghi Beach.
