Baris Aparthotel

no way in this world would I ever go to this hotel again , this hotel isnt suitable for family , it more suitable for 18 to 30 , when we arrive the room smelt of smoke , the staff were not that friendly to family only to the younger ages. I been to marmaris many time and stay in different hotel , but this was the worst one ....

Id like to start by saying that it has taken me quite a while to get round to writing this review, but i feel that i need to say some things to people that might go here this season....
Me (17) and my 18 yr old friend stayed here for two weeks in june/july, it was an ok holiday, i have been to marmaris twice before so i love the resort but this is the worst hotel that i have stayed in, i know it it 2 stars and i didn't expect anything over the top, i expected basic, i had no problem with the hotel itself as i just care about the nearest nightclub! all i wanted was a place to sleep, so we arrived at the baris and we were greeted by Ramisan (the waiter) he was the only nice member of staff in the hotel! we went to reception and he was horrible, didnt say hello, barely spoke to us and overcharged us for our safety deposit box!. the rooms are basic but ok. our shower didnt work too well but i could live with it because im not not fussy.
There is one word to sum up the manager and the nighttime receptionist....PEREVRTS!. I hear the baris is now a club 18-30 hotel for Thomas cook, i pity all the groups of young girls that are going to stay here. 1st of all on out 3rd night, me and my friend woke up in the morning and realized out door was open, we thought it was a bit strange but forgot about it, we walked downstairs to go to the pool where we encountered the manager for the 1st time...it all clicked into place when he said "i watch you sleeping last night, very nice!" i was disgusted that this perverted 50yr old man had unlocked our room door and had seen us sleeping in out underwear, completely unacceptable! we became friends with a group of fellas and girls and told them about it, they were just as shocked as we were. I am completely award of how most turkish men are over friendly and abit touchy feely but i think there is a fine like between that and going over the top!
The receptionist was just as bad, beisdes the amount of perving he done on all the girls in bikinis he done a lot worse. as i just said we became friends with some other people that where saying in the baris and one night after a night out we were all pretty drunk, i decided to stay in my friends apartment to have a few drinks with everyone, i ended up falling a sleep and awoke to see the receptionist standing at the foot of my bed staring at me!!!! i thought i was dreaming!! he started mumbling about how i shouldn't be in the room, i don't see the problem when i was staying in the same hotel! so understandably i told him to f**k off and get out of my sight!! we complained to the rep about all of this and she done nothing. Following more perverted comment and actions from the staff i would advice you not to stay here if u r under 30! its so ironic that it is now a club 18-30 hotel!!!!
Mamaris as a whole is a beautiful resort with great nightlife and the people are great, i am going back this June but thankfully to a different hotel!
It was the staff that spoilt my experience not the actual hotel. it is a brilliant destination for holiday makers young and old! i cant wait to go back but when i do id love to give that perverted manager a piece of my mind! I can handle a laugh better than anybody but they just crossed the line!

My boyfriend and I went back to Marmaris for the 2nd time, this time for 2 weeks. We enjoyed our accomodation, although it can sometimes be noisey from people getting in late and after 1 too many cocktails LOL Our accomodation was well situated, it was off the main strip away from the hustle and bustle of Marmaris, but literally 10 mins walk from the beach and whats better it is'nt hard to find your way back to either. Bar staff are great, very helpful and friendly. We stayed in SC appartments found them to be clean and layed out well. But you must remember, you get what you pay for. This is'nt 5*. I would reccomend the Baris apart/hotel as a descent place to stay while holidaying in Sunny, Sunny Marmaris!!

I went at stayed at the Baris Hotel for one week, and had a really good week. The only faults i would give the hotel itself is that prices of food where far to much and the food was not that that great. Also the hotel manager was rude and to upfront, and being a young female and being with a fellow young female on holiday i found this rather disturbing. When asking to keep my room for an extra hour, i got told 'NO and to SHUT UP'.
The location is great and i could not fault the bar staff they where lovely people.
I would go to Marmis again but would not stay at this hotel.

Hi me and my partner arrived at the baris early hours in the morning and had a really nice welcome. the staff was really friendly which was nice, we sat at the bar most nights talking to the staff specially leyla and serda, as they didnt close the bar until the last person left. we really enjoyed it here and we av booked to again in july 2009, cant wait, hope leyla is still there.
To be honest i did feel a litle out of place on the first day or so as everyone knew each other, but we soon got to know everyone and got on really well.
also met a lovely lass called jill which we still keep in touch with.

Hi Baris,, its the jackson's who been stayin in baris for the last 4 years whos daughter has a resturant 'Parkhead'. We find that baris is a good hotel, staff very friendly, rooms are to standard, staff always look our us, very polite greet with a smile when we arrive. (Has Layla found her man yet, if i was 20 years younger i'd take you off her feet) hopeful see you in September. Say hi 2 all.

This hotel is a joke, i was looking forward to the friendly staff, but found them overfriendly, especially the manager, he was a pervy guy, me and 3 other girls stayed there this summer and it was 2 weeks too long, we hated it. There were certain guests who return there year on year and make it uncomfortable to spend time in the hotel,it was a acase of being in the click and we were not!
The cleaners do leave a tip box for giving out 3 sets of bedding between 4 people, hand towels instead of bath towels, thats when they bothered to change these at all, im afraid we didnt leave them a tip.
I found the men letchy, layla on the other hand was lovely, but the men are horrid i have a bf and was regularly asked by the manager to engage in a bit of holiday fun!!He even said he would miss looking at me! i was shocked and disgusted, but then again as i said they were all the same. Ive never been so ecited to go home as i was at the end of our holiday, me and my m8s were running for the bus, lol.
And as for the comments by some people on here i think they need to learn how to spell before trying to insult geordies!!

Hi, just recently come back from marmaris, and the baris apart hotel, september 2008. This was a good hotel, the staff were friendly, never ignorant, always said hello.
Dont know much about the guy on reception. The rooms were cleaned everyday which was good, work there socks off. Layla the bar staff was friendly as well, if anyone has her email address please can you forward to me, I got on well with her as well as her two other sisters, which are the cleaners.
The hotel was clean, and good throughout, there were no flies or pest or rodants, which was good, and the location was great also, five minutes from the beach and bars.

I think that MISS D WARBURTON is just a SAD PATHETIC SLAPPER who's only concern on the holiday was to sleep with EVERY GIRLS BOYFRIEND THERE! included two cousins on the same night! this is the LOVLIEST HOTEL i have ever been to, towels were fresh everyday, food was amazing the company was superb!!, i rate this hotel as 9/10, it would have been even higher if the 8 girls/slappers hadn't come in at 5am in the morning most mornings screaming shouting and blowing whistles up and down the hotel stairs, twice i had to get up and ask them to keep the noise down, and the only reason the girl from liverpool went ballistic is because 1 slapper told her to **** off when also asking them to keep the noise down, so in the pool she went!! (nice one!!) To be quite truthfull they were only there to cause trouble! but they didn't succeed as the manager asked them to leave! ( go kyle!!) listen to me everyone if you want to relax, enjoy yourself and enjoy what maramrus has to offer then this is the place to be. THE BARIS!!!!!!! best hotel ever i'm going back next year too! but if you see any slapper jordies abou just keep your distance their more trouble then there worth. xx

The baris hotel was the best hotel ive stayed in......Mayee nattttt We were a group of seven girls who were all eighteen and were looking for a friendly hotel with a good atmosphere, which had been said on reviews. However this was not the case as we werer constantly gettin asked to keep quiet through the day and night and we could not relax due to circumstances which will be explaind laetr in this review. The rooms we stayed in was unlivable! You could not stand up properly due to the attic staff room we were given!! The plugs did not work. The toilets were broke. The toilet door did not shut properly. There was no light in the toilet. The air conditioning was expensive and did not work properly. The rooms were cramped an no space was available. Our third bed was a sun lounger with a thin bedding on top. The towels given were crap. One day it was large and the next small. The room was only cleaned once through the whole week then when you left they asked for a tip and left a tip box on yr bed. Also you could work the air con with out paying for it!! We were on the same floor as the "manager" kyle who harrassed us through the night! And invited himself into the room when uninvited.!!! He was nice to you until once you denied him of sex he turned against you and kept threating us that we were goin to get kicked ut of the hotel. One night he denied us from eneterin the hotel at 5 in the morning and so we had to resort to sitin on the streets until the mornin in which he left the hotel reception. Then theres Musty... well as soon as we arrived at the hotel he harrassed us when we just wanted to be left alone to get sorted, but he persited on coming into our rooms with us!! He also kept insisting on being alone with certain individuals from our group when we had already told him no! One of the girls bags also went missing from the room with a digital camera and money in it!! This happend during the time when Musty took one of the girls to her room when she was lost and extremely drunk. It was very suspicious! To add to all of this there was a liverpoolian guest staying at the hotel who made the last few days very uncomfortable . One of the girls we were with was talking to a member of the bar staff through the holiday and this guest claimed it was her boyfriend. She then would slag us off to all the bar staff and the other guests throughout the day and night. However, he did not help the situation by coming over all the time to talk to us. It even came to a point where we couldnt sit in the hotel on the night time as she even hit one of the girls we were with. All of this time the manager did nothing to stop her and started threatening us that we would be kicked out! Despite all of this we would go back to Marmaris as we still managed to have a great tim, we would just never go back to this hotel.... Don't come to this hotel as it is more hassle than it is worth!
