Generally very good.

Seril 2 is in an excellent location, 5 mins from the resort centre, close enough for the nightlife, but far enough away to not hear the main road. The Dolmus buses run about 50m from the front door and can get you around easily.
Rooms are spotlessly clean. sufficient wardrobe/drawer space even for my wife. only a few hangers so take your own. We pushed the beds together and the cleaners then started making heart shapes out of the towels, sprinkling petals on the bed etc, really nice touch. Bathroom is a wetroom, very functional, again spotlessly clean. Balcony is a nice size, ours was shaded by a beautiful vine/bush that grows up the hotel, we had sun in the morning, and plenty of shade on it in the afternoon. We were in room 8, we would probably ask for the same one again.
Food: We went all inclusive. Word of warning; the food was all turkish. Dont go all inclusive if you're not prepared to eat Traditional dishes all week. It was delicious food. typical breakfasts, then a different meat served each afternoon and night. Also a cake/snack served around 4pm. There range of vegetables/salads was really first class.
Drink: There was a beer pump serving a drinkable lager from 10am til 11pm. and spirits available in copious quantities with orange, sprite, coke. There didnt look to be any wine available (althought to be fair i didnt ask)The lads on the bar were all to happy to double or even treble the spirits measure. (sometimes without me asking!)
Pool; really good. no complaints. clean. diving allowed. sun loungers are plentiful, always spaces.
WIFI/TV; the wifi is free and can be picked up by the pool, the TV's are all Turkish only, Gladiator isnt as good in Turkish!
The only issue: I dont think many English speaking tourists stay at Seril2. We were the only English visitors during the week, the staff couldnt speak English bar a few words. I think they were a bit embarrassed about it, as were we. It made the hotel a bit of a lonely place! When our rep didnt turn up (holidaymate) through a mixture of pointing and hand gestures the receptionist was able to help us. Through the week as we got more confident with our turkish we were able to chat a bit more, and the Turk guests are really friendly.
Overall; if theres a group of you this hotel is fine, its very good value (we payed £580 for a full week, all inclusive, for both of us). The food is good. The staff are friendly. The other guests are a bit stand-off ish, but eventually we made friends.

The reviews were good but the actual experience wasn't. The staff weren't particularly friendly and looked quite surly at times. The breakfast was as we had expected, but although the bread was covered, everything else was uncovered and there were quite a few flies around!
The room was basic, and clean. However, we did feel that we had outstayed our visit when 2 days before we were due to leave, the shower curtains disappeared (never to return) and the following day the bedroom carpet and the tumbler from the bathroom were missing!

Perhaps the 'end of season' blues had kicked in!

Oct 2006, Mrs N Plant

This was the first budget holiday we had and naturally were not sure about the accommodation. It was a well run hotel by a very helpful manageress and the cheerful staff.
Our room was cleaned every day and the location was perfect as we did not have to listen to loud music till late hours as the hotel was 300 metres away from the beach (and most of the bars and restaurants).
Our basic but comfortable and clean room was very satisfactory. I would recommend this hotel to everybody.

Oct 2006, Mrs L Bray

Having been to this hotel four times this year, I felt it was time to tell everyone else what a good place it is to go! First went in April and enjoyed my stay so much that I kept returning!
The hotel is family run by Esra and her sister Eser who are both lovely people. They cannot do enough to help and will make sure you have a wonderful stay. The restaurant and bar is run by Mehmet and he is a really friendly guy and he works extremely hard. Soner is the main chef and will cook you some delicious meals. The food is really great and not expensive. The hotel organises a Turkish night regularly and it mustn’t be missed. The rooms are kept very clean and towels are changed daily.
All in all I cannot fault this place but the best thing about it are the staff!

We booked a bargain week's holiday...
9 / 10
Aug 2006, Ms S Thomas

We booked a bargain week's holiday right at the last minute and were heartened to read the positive reviews on this site. We were not disappointed!
On our arrival at stupid o' clock in the morning, Mr. Bean, the night receptionist, raced up to our second floor room carrying our two heavy cases. In spite of the un-godly hour he was chatty and cheerful, and made a great first impression on us.
The rooms are clean and very basic, featuring beds, a built in wardrobe, bedside cabinets and a small dresser. There's a decent sized balcony with a couple of patio chairs and a wet room equipped with WC, sink and shower attachment. All rooms have air conditioning, which is payable locally and costs £20 a week - essential in high season. The rooms are serviced on a daily basis - beds made, towels replaced and floors mopped.
Breakfast at the Seril 2 consists of lovely soft bread, margarine, feta cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, honey, boiled eggs, prunes, etc. Typically Turkish, nicely presented and tasty. If you desire, you can order from the restaurant menu, which includes scrambled eggs, bacon sandwiches and full English breakfasts - which are all reasonably priced and highly recommended.
The menu at Seril 2 is outstanding, considering the small size of the hotel. All meals and snacks are freshly cooked, made with good ingredients and taste great. Best of all are the prices. We ate at the hotel, lunch and dinner for six days and the bill came in at just over £100, including the drinks we had with meals. We particularly recommend the sea bass, the chips (which are REAL chips), the salad bowls, the ottoman chicken and the children's chicken nuggets (which are freshly made strips of chicken breast in breadcrumbs).
Drinks are equally good value, especially Efes, which is on at 1.75ytl for a 500ml bottle. Imported Miller is 3.00ytl for a 330ml bottle. Alcoholic cocktails go from 9.00ytl upwards. Wine is about 15.00ytl a bottle. Soft drinks like Sprite and Coke are 2.00ytl per can. Ice-creams and crisps are reasonably priced too.
The highlight of our holiday was the pool area (as it was really too warm to do anything else). The pool is L-shaped, a very decent size and is surrounded by attractive gardens and plenty of sun beds - we never had a problem securing ours, even on the days we had a lay in.
The people who work at the Seril 2 are friendly and relaxed, meanwhile managing to run the establishment extremely efficiently. Simba, the boxer dog is adorable, and enjoys the attention of the hotel guests, but doesn't seek it out, something I admit I was quite relieved about.
All in all we had a great break, there's a lovely relaxed mood at the Seril 2, shared by staff and guests, and we met some really fantastic people there, had a good laugh and came back brown and happy - couldn't ask for more!

My first holiday with my son. What an excellent time we had the friendliness of all the staff and the guest that were staying there. The food was outstanding and the price was so cheap.
We can’t thank the staff at the hotel enough for there hospitality and the excellent service we received.
We will be returning next year on a two week holiday to the same hotel.

Jul 2006, Mrs T Johnston

Myself and children stayed for 1 week at Seril 11. I have never stayed in a place where the staff are so friendly, helpful and caring.
My daughter fell and hurt her back and they spent so much time watching out for her and doing everything possible to make her comfortable (including taking us to hospital, chemists etc) it was overwhelming. The accommodation was more than comfortable and ideally suited to a family.
I have read previous reports regarding the Seril 11 and apart from 1 lady that seemed to have a problem (which I cannot believe) I can only agree and reiterate that the staff especially Mehmet were absolutely excellent.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

My first visit to Turkey as was amazed by the hospitality I received. The Hotel is superbly run and the resident dog called Simba are amazing. Mehmet the head waiter will have you laughing.
The pool is lovely and you don't have to fight for sun beds. The sofa's in the shade give you a place to relax making you feel as comfy as home. The food is superb and the English breakfast a must.
All this could not be done here without the sisters who run it so well. A short walk to all amenities gives you the freedom as well.
I will be returning as soon as possible.

Jun 2006, Miss C Teasdale

On arrival the Manager ran up 3 flights of stairs with our two heavy suitcases - not bad for a small guy! We had a wonderful week here at the Seril II and would definitely recommend it to anyone trying Turkey for the first time as we were.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. If Memhet throws rose petals over you it means he's taken a liking to you - so beware!
We met some great people, enjoyed some tasty food and drank Mamara 34 which is the cheapest beer, you can share a bottle with a friend. Try the Lamb Shank at Seril it's swimming in garlic and very tasty.
The pool area is very clean and the pool's not too cold. And another good thing is there are plenty of sun beds so you can always find a spot.
Only one annoying point, hence the 9/10 score, was a dog barking late at night and in the early hours, which disturbed our sleep a bit.
I will definitely be visiting this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.

May 2006, Mrs S Hurcombe

The hotel is very clean & tidy. The staff are very attentive and the service cannot be faulted. The food is excellent.
Minor niggles of the music being far too loud in the bar after 10:00 pm at night and being woken at 5:00 am every morning by the neighbour's dog barking non stop. Also the beds in our room were rather hard.
Also, over the course of our weeks holiday several things went missing from our room and our friends' room. Just small things, like clothes, fruit, make up etc but obviously taken by someone with a key as the rooms were double locked. We also noticed that our bags and suitcases had been riffled. On the coach home we discovered that other guests had things taken but were asked by the Manageress not to tell anyone else.
A shame as otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

No. 1. Go to this accommodation...

May 2006, F Davies

No. 1. Go to this accommodation you'll have a great time.
This hotel, is clean and basic. The rooms are good and cleaned daily. There is a pleasant if small balcony and a more than serviceable shower toilet area. (You will not be spending a great deal of time in the room. Trust me.)
The Pool area and pool are superb for this level of hotel. It is a great 'L' shaped pool but is deep in all areas. Watch that for kids. There is ample seating and a small child’s play area. (Really is a nice pool.)
The bar and dining area are good if a little holiday camp'esq'. But in a good way.
The food is basic but more than enjoyable. Sword Fish is not on the menu, but ask for it. It's blooming marvelous.
Breakfast consists of great big chunks of bread and feta cheese, tomato, jam and fruit and veg. Bit unusual but you soon get to enjoy it. For about 3 quid you can buy the Brit fry up which is not bad.
Most importantly and a bit strangely this hotel is one of the cheapest place to by beers in Chalis. So much so that people wonder out from the main resort to go there. Often Ex-pats turned up at night just for a game of pool and a beer.
You do have a short walk into Chalis but it's about 300yrds and nothing to worry about.
Chalis it's self is a bit basic, but a normal holiday resort with all the usual trappings. Not bad not superb just holiday sort of place.

But if you want sunshine, pool laying week up foreign supping a couple of beers in a nice quiet hotel you will not go far wrong. We went though Gold Trail and paid £120 per person just out of season. One of the best and cheapest holidays I've been on!
