I wouldn't recommend this accomodation
After arriving at the apartments at 5.30am, we were shown to a third floor apartment. As it was still dark and we were tired we didn't really get to look at the place till morning. When we awoke we saw our view, what a disappointment. As we were on the top floor and on a corner of the building, we did have sea views on two sides, but they were quite a distance away, and we had another buildings balcony about 3 metres from ours, right in front of us. There was no patio furniture on the balcony so we had to rearrange some furniture. The kitchen/living room was very big, however the chairs at the dining table were broken and the kitchen hotplate was unusable, it looked old and very very rusty. The bedroom was ok, but very very basic and the wardrobe door was hanging off it's hinges. The light fixtures throughout the apartment left alot to be desired, as they were also hanging off the ceiling. We were above the pool area and it got very very noisy late in the evening, between 11-4pm, this didn't do a lot to help us sleep, although it wasn't every night. The bathroom, was just a plastic shower head that you had to hold, and the water smelled very musty and was not good with temperature. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel, so I can't say if it was reasonable enough. We found that Beach 2 was lovely, it was very quiet and not too busy, although rocky in some parts. Altinkum itself is going through alot of building work and it can get very dusty at times, altough Dolphin Sq is quite lively and I would recommend Romeo's for dinner, he was very lovely and the food was wonderful. All in all we wouldn't go back to Altinkum and certainly not to the Sultan Apts. This was our second visit to Turkey and it won't be our last, our first visit was to Olu Deniz, and if you find Altinkum just that bit too much, I would definatly recommend it. To sum it up, Lovely People, Lovely Beach's, rubbish apartment.
sultan rip off
we stayed at these apartments in august the weather was fantastic between 37-42 every day!advertised in first choice as having a t.v. payable locally there isn't one!food was nice, although we later saw how they washed up, with cold water and no detergent. tables were hosed down every evening after pool closes, this was to get ready for your evening meal! steps to pool were in and out more than we were, if somebody comlpained that their child hurt themselves on them they were taken out, only to be put back when you went out. music was played VERY loudly until nearly 4am every night, the apartments down the the road were ringing up complaining all the time that their guests could'nt sleep! turkish night was good, £12 per head food and drink included between 9-12, we woke up to a bar bill of £50 for drinks we apparently had out of hours, when speaking to other guests in the morning they also had a huge bill, some for drinks they don't even like, so wouldn't have ordered! this seemed to be a problem for most people who had a bar tab, drinks they didn't have! all i can say if you are staying here, DO NOT HAVE A TAB AT THE BAR!
