Superb Staff
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 1 night. I wish we had stayed longer! Great hotel, great staff. The hotel is easy walking distance to the castle and into the city. The breakfast was fantastic. Would not hesitate in staying there again!
A Plesant Stay
I chose this hotel for the free parking. There are around 12 spaces and I was a bit lucky to get one. The hotel is easy to drive to and within walking distance of the Castle (15 – 20 minutes). I paid £10 extra (per night) for one of the better rooms. It was close to the hotel bar which was noisy on a night. This was not much of a problem for me as I returned to the room late each night and the bar closed soon after. I would have been really annoyed if I wanted to go to sleep earlier in the evening. The room was not ready when I... more
Management response from ManagerEdinburgh

The Bedroom in question has since been completley refurbished, including a new bathroom suite as part of our ongoing and continued refurbishment programme. Work was completed 23/06/07.

Full of praise
It's taking a bit of a risk writing a review while still staying in the hotel but I know what happens after leaving other things take over and I really wanted to say how much I've enjoyed my stay at the Bruntsfield. They also provide free internet in the rooms so I've got no excuse! I've stayed in a few other hotels in Edinburgh over the last couple of years but in the medium price range I think this is the best. I booked quite late through the hotel website and got a very nice room at a very good rate. The thing that's impressed me... more
excellent hotel
first impressions of the hotel were promising with the receptionist being pleasant and helpful, we were not disappointed. The room was very spacious warm and comfortable with a huge bathroom. Breakfast was varied and tasty, with a buffet for cold and the hot food served to the table. No real negatives but my wife would have preferred more vegetarin choices on the dinner menu.
Fantastic Hotel
Been going to Edinburgh for many years now and always try to stay in different Hotels. However the Bruntsfield is without doubt the best we have stayed in. We booked a double and were given a Master Suite at no extra cost. Imagine our suprise and delight. Room fantastic, bathroom spotless, food in resturant great and not over priced, breakfast cooked for you. Stayed in several 4 stars in Edinburgh yet strangely this only warrants a 3 star. So handy for the Centre and in a nice area to boot.
Will come again
I only booked this hotel because my friend was holding her wedding here and I was comming with my elderly parents. I thought to save any trouble traveling to the wedding we will stop over instead. And to honest it was the best decision I made. The parents were made comfortable with a great spacious room and ours smaller but still adequate. The rooms had a kettle with coffee, tea few biscuits and room service. This was perfect for my folks to wake up to in their own comfort. My farther has difficulty digesting nuts and both my... more
Very pleasant hotel but a long walk from city centre
Hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities. Staff were helpful. Quiet location in a residential area overlooking parkland. The only downside is that it was a good 20-30 minute walk from the town centre, fine if you are fit and active but too far to walk with young children or for some elderly people.
Lovely hotel in a great location
The hotel is situated in a quiet area just across from a park and is about 15-20 minutes walk from Princes Street. Everything about the hotel looks wise is perfect, they have recently opened a new restaurant which is reasonably priced and the guest rooms were spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. My friend and I were originally put in a double room and the bathroom was amazing, perfect for a romantic stay, with stand-alone bath and separate shower room. There was no trouble changing rooms and we were moved to an even bigger one... more
New Room, still a great breakfast!
My first stay at the Bruntsfield for approx. 18 months. My room was large, quiet and comfortable with a view to Edinburgh Castle. The breakfast room had changed but the food was still excellent. I would recommend the Bruntsfield as a good value hotel; try to get rooms on the back annex to avoid any traffic noise.
The food is fantastic
The best feature about this hotel is the FOOD, what a delight, it makes an average hotel stand out.
