Brilliant! Lovely hotel in great location in the middle of the city. Staff were very friendly.
We were upgraded for free to a castle view room which was great as we had been told that views on the other side of the hotel were poor.
Overall we had a great stay but to warn others the price of the afternoon tea differs from the price cited on the internet.

The location was fantastic - you get a great view of the4 castle. The air conditioning/heater was loud and not very hot!! The breakfast was wonderful, but the dinners were too arty for my simple tastes. The staff were excellent and very attentive and interesting. we had a massage and the hot stones treatment is super
Its right on the main street about a 15 min walk from the train station - its about a 10 min walk to the castle so its close to everything you could need.
Overall a great wee break.

I found the room to be delightful with traditional décor, very high ceilings, comfortable bed and a large bathroom! On arrival I received complementary wine, chocolates and fruit in the room.
This is also a hotel where the little touches matter - fluffy dressing gowns and slippers!
I only ate at the hotel for breakfast on a morning but it had everything to choice from and I had no complaints with the food.
All in all it was a great hotel to stay at and I would highly recommend it!
