A great hotel with good service, despite there being a wedding on which took up the function suite and one bar. Staff had plenty of time for us. Our original dinner reservation was lost, but they managed to mind a space for us in the restaurant before the show. Pool was clean and quiet, the room was slightly dated but the bathroom was spacious. The dinner was great and again the service was fantastic.

This hotel was a great find! Tucked away from the noise of city centre, yet only a ten minute walk to town centre, we loved it!
Rooms newly done, were great, nice bathrooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was busy and very full, but food was good and nice cup of coffee served. Went at quiet time, so price was good, only £95 for both of us. Lovely private gardens as well, shame about the weather, or we could have had a nice drinky!
Would definatly reccomend to anyone!

I have stayed in many hotels in my life all over the world, but I have to say that the Royal Terrace is one of the best experiences I have ever had... check in was a breeze, staff could not have done more, room... AMAZING... dinner absolutely the best hotel food I have ever tasted, your chef should pack his bags and go and teach the french how to cook!!! The food was out of this world, I had the monkfish and scallops... perfect and the roast parsnip ice-cream GENIUS!!! Thank you for a very memorable visit.

I stayed at the Royal Terrace Hotel on Thursday 21st April 2011. I asked if they did a Gluten free menu and was told they did. I booked a double room but when we got in the room it only had items for one guest (bathroom items), the toilet had been used and not flushed, the one tablet of soap in the bathroom was used. I had to go down and get milk and coffee from reception. When we went down for breakfast, we were given regular toast, I asked for gluten free and was eventually brought some. They had no record of us requesting gluten free so there was nothing on the menu for us despite the staff saying we could have anything. When you add on the cost of parking it made it a miserable stay. I have given it a score of 1 because I it won't accept a score lower than that. Barry Bower.
