well this was my secong time at the hotel and lot of ppl have given it a a bad review. well all i am gonna say they are wrong the hotel was clean and tidy. rooms was cleaned everyday and fresh towels in the bathroom, but i have to say book your self in for a turkish massage i hurt my shoulder on the boat trip from jumping off the top of the boat in to the water the turkish massage cured it. the entertainment staff was fantstic especially romeo and bam bam was bit rubbish for couple of days due to the beauty contest turned in to a fire show and the couple show never happened. do recummend the boat trip though. as for the bar staff fantastic and ali the waiter always had beer on tap when it was lunch and dinner time
i will be returning here in oct hopefully if not it be mid may again next year

After reading tons of bad reviews on this hotel, our family had great concerns about going - upon arrival however all our worries were over, we have returned today May 18th 2009 and I can honestly say we have had a brilliant time!
Beautiful hotel and spotlessly clean, the amount of people working to ensure that the place is clean is unbelievable you will see people working all day and night cleaners, gardeners, maids, bar staff, waiting staff - I was very shocked. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel is very big it wasn't until our last evening I stumbled across a gorgeous relaxing area with gazebos all with giant lounge cushions, hammocks and swing chairs.
Three pools, the main one which was very busy but great fun, a relaxing pool for adults only which was great to escape to when we got the chance and by far our favorite an enclosed baby pool which for us was PERFECT. There is a childrens play area with climbing frames, slides, swings and little play houses and cars all enclosed with a high latch gate and the pool leads on from here via another gate the kids are safe running between the pool and the play area and the kids club was fab too. My 5 year old spent a little time in the club but the pool was far more appealing to her.
We had a family room with two single beds, bunk beds and a cot and there was plenty of room in there, lovely sized bathroom boiling hot water and a nice little area to sit out the front too - again spotlessly clean.
The food was excellent, if you enjoy your british grub then it may not appeal to you!
There was a fantastic choice of salads and breads at lunch and dinner along with a wide selection of hot dishes, curries, lamb dishes pasta dishes and something barbequed every evening - the fish, lamb and chicken were all gorgeous, as long as you are open minded and willing to try the food then you won't be disapointed.
In the afternoon the pool bar area served pizza(which was really tasty), chips etc there was also afternoon cakes if required.
There was a massive choice for breakfast freshly cooked omlettes, scrambled egg, boiled egg, beans, frankfurter style sausage, 6 different cereals, cheese, bread, fruit, tea and coffee orange juice everything you could ask for! Lovely waiting staff aswell who are so helpful that absolutely nothing is too much trouble, cenan and mahmet will really make a fuss of you.
The entertainment team were fantastic although the shows maybe weren't the best, so this made them all the more funny, they work so hard and put in such effort that you have to admire them we loved them all, bam bam, romeo and Andy - so friendly they really were fab.
Olu deniz is an awsome place it is very pretty and we have had an amazing time stunning beaches gorgeous lagoon, I will not hesitate to go back there again and would definately choose this hotel again.

We have just returned from a lovely week in Olu Deniz Resort Hotel. After reading some of the reviews I was a little worred - but plesantly surprised! I understand this hotel has recently been taken over - and they have done a fantastic job! If you don't have children there is a lovely relaxation pool, which was perfect. The main pool was noisy but great for kids. As it was the begining of the season it was probably the quietest time, which was ideal for us. Staff were really lovely and friendly, food great and plentiful, loads of choice for salad, bread, hot food, deserts. Drinks in abundance, local drinks free (beer, wine, vodka, whisky, gin, brandy and mixers), branded and cocktails extra. The restaruant was busy and felt a little uncomfortable in the evening as there were long tables with no privacy (not very romantic!) but sociable! Drinks service inthe restaurant was slow so better getting a drink before going in. Dinner is only served between 7.30 and 9.30 but the earlier you get there the more choice you have. The grounds were lovely and peaceful. We booked a superior room for the sea view - didn't realise we had a big hill to climb everyday! The view was great but a way from the sea. Rooms were a bit small and you can hear next doors music, but it wasn't irritating! You can also hear all the music from the resort until about 2am so if you're a light sleeper don't expect to get to sleep early! Evening entertainment is so bad its funny! Music bad, corny and cringeworthy! Staff try their best but haven't quite got the hang of it! Maybe it was because it was early in the season and things haven't warmed up yet!
I met someone in the resort that stayed last year and all they could eat was bread and soup and said the staff were rude and ignorant - I am pleased to say it was the complete opposite! I wouldn't say it was 3*+, probably more 3*. We are now thinking of returning to this hotel for a week in September.
I was pleasantly surprised with this resort. Disappointed with the shingly beach, but still lovely. Paragliding a must if you're into that sort of thing. My husband went with IKARUS and I would highly recommend them - a fantastic and friendly group of people - now friends on Facebook! Emre came and found me to tell me when my husband 'jumped' so that I could photograph him all the way down. Even though we were all inclusive we planned to go out for dinner once. Went to 'Saltan Ahmet', ended up going there 3 times for dinner as it was fantastic! Not cheap, but worth it. Missed the belly dancing though on Tuesday, which is apparently an experience!

Just returned last night from a week there. We went out of season, the first few days were very quiet and peaceful but it got busier as the week went on. We were a bit nervous having read some bad reviews on various sites but had a lovely time.
We went with Thomas Cook, but the hotel operates for many operators including a lot of Turkish ones as well. But everyone mixes in nicely and there is a good atmosphere.
The hotel is rated as 4 star, i personally would give it 3.5. Its certainly not a 4 star by UK standards but is better than the 3 star holiday hotels by a good margin. The rooms are clean and adequate, altho the bed linin is way too small. A single sheet and blanket on a double bed isn't good, especially when it gets cold in April!
The food was nice, altho perhaps a little 'samey'. Although i have to say i didn't really have a meal i didn't like all week. 2 large buffets will provide enough variety to satisfy most tastes. Restaurant staff were very helpful and efficient, although this did become slightly less efficient as the hotel filled up.
They have 2 pools, one of the kids and one for people to relax in.
The hotel is more like a village, all blocks of rooms nicely spread out with lemon and pine trees dotted around and really nice presentation of it. The hotel has enough facilities to keep people entertained. The gazebo's are nice to relax in late afternoon on the huge cushions also.
The night time entertainment was an experience in iteself. It was kind of so bad it was good, you had to laugh and enjoy it really. The entertainment crew are all a great laugh and very friendly. Evening music was generally geared to younger people, with a lot of dance music. To me this was great, but i imagine it might not be appreciated by older holiday makers.
Was our first time all inclusive and we made full use of it eating lots. Hotel is right on the beach as well so you can pop back for a bite to eat at lunch, altho its about a 20 min walk to the lagoon so not really an option to pop back for that. Drinks on the all inclusive are basic, but they are free so we didn't complain.
Overall was a very nice holiday and i'd certainly go back, altho my girlfriend wasn't quite so keen as me. She gave it a 6 out of 10, whereas i'd say an 8. So we'll round it off to a solid 7 and a lovely holiday!

Me and 3 female friends went for a week, to chill but also have fun---we def done that. Hotel was lovely, staff really friendly and what a bonus-an adult only pool hidden away-was nice to have a week away with no children so suited us. Plenty of choice for food really, ommelettes were spot on! Not sure about entertainment tho, bit crap from what i saw but then u only have to walk 100 yrds to beach, shops and few bars. Go to cloud 9 restaurant for dinner one day if u can-lovely.
Overall this holiday was just what i wanted-still bit out of season but was perfect for us.
Also went paragliding--------you have to do it if u get chance-its amazing!

i and my family went to this hotel last june o8,took my 73 year old mother with us,and all i can say it was a disaster from the min we arrived at the hotel reception, rooms not ready, then we were given rooms so far away,we might as been at the sun city, all the food was cooked at the sun city and vanned down..the food was bad,and the dinning room utter chaos..the bar was a night mare, not enough staff, and unless you shouted you never got served, the pool is way to small and so dangerous for kids...when we was at the pool,2 days into holiday,2 kids where pulled from the bottom of the pool by the slope, the kids had walked down the steps at the side of the kids pool, and slide down the slope..a bloke dived in after hearing the mother screaming, and brought them to the service then too the side of the pool.both where unconcous,,but the man gave both a jerk and both came around,i will never ever forget that boys scream, how lucky they both where, the pool is way to over crowded, and too many deck chairs crammed into a very small area..the kids entertianment was a farce, one boy from sunderland(nathen, remarked why people where clapping as they where crap)and that was from the kid they where trying to entertian.(has anyone ever seen the river dance done with trainers????.lol..lol)the beach bar was shut.the pool bar was bad...long waiting for little choice...in the nite they had exta bars, but you had to pay,all the staff where on this bar,the al,e,cart restuart by the adult pool was a joke..we where shown a menu, but when we payed and went too the restuarnt, you had too have what they gave you...which you could get at the dinning room..and they had the cheek to charge you more...the shop on site ,was three times more costly than the ones out side,it was a con...the thomas cook was a waste of time..jonny by name, and as much use as a busted one...all he could say was read the small print...the russians have killed this once great hotel, all the great staff walked out,and it was the worst thing for this hotel....please please ,do not go too this hotel..if you do not believe me then go too tripadvisor and read the reveiws on there...i felt so sorry for my mother, will never ever book with thomas cook again,

As with most people we read a lot before we went and most of the comments could be verified with the usual result of english people being at either end of tolerant.
The good points: Fabulous hotel in an amazing location, beautiful grounds everything very clean and well kept. Awesome resort with plenty to do if you don't want to get stuck in the hotel. The quiet pool right near us was a God send! No noise, music, children........just bliss, a lovely pool, amazing views and a bar open from 10am - 6pm. The toilets and showers were really clean! We had a shower there on the last day which is the only reason we would have paid to keep a room on. Mostly the staff were great, especially Mustaffa and Mickael at the bars. I can understand people that went before and got much better 'everything' and understand a lot of the good staff have gone because of new manangement but think for what we paid we got an absolute bargain. 4*? No, but I would go there again depending on cost.
Points for improvement: I think our room was a small one but wouldn't complain. It was clean, the air conditioning worked, the beds were comfy - it was fine. It was the first place I'd been to where if you weren't ready when the maid turned up she'd keep coming back until she could clean your room! We did experience the noise of rubbsh being emptied and the road noise but it wasn't really a biggy, apart from the first night when we were knackered. The food was ok. Good selection and well presented but not the tastiest to be honest. Again for what we paid no complaints. Even if you are really fussy you could fill up on pasta, rice, salads etc, there was plenty of it and my husband loved the freshly cooked fish - he had 3 of them 1 night!
Overall ok and as I say would not be put off going again, a beautiful part of the country.

We returned from our two weeks at this hotel in the early hours of this morning. We had read all the negative comments from earlier this year following the takeover by the NOA group and also marked that there was an apparent increase in satisfaction with conditions throughout the summer months. On arrival at around 3am we entered reception with the First Choice rep (the only people arriving here from our flight) and on giving the night manager our name he told us we had already arrived and our room given to somebody else. He then sent us to a room in the annexe at the back of the pool. This room was not the one we had booked and was barely big enough to move around in, let alone sleep and stay there. I protested and was told they only had 2 rooms left which were both the same. This hotel is supposed to be a 4* and this room was barely of 2* standard. We got no sleep whatsoever that night due to extremely hard, uncomfortable bed and the noise from the pool cleaners and the light shining through the non-blackout curtains. I went to reception very early later that morning and told the day manager that the room was not the one we had booked and was immediately shown another room in the 'new block' area which was twice the size of the first one and more in keeping with my ideas of a 4* facility. We accepted the change and happily moved across. The first room is still apparently classed as a 'standard room' so beware if you book a room here that you may not get exactly what you are expecting. Having said that, I could not fault the speed with with they moved us and we also got a free 'late checkout room' worth £28 via the 'First Choice' rep in compensation for the inconvenience. Moving on to the hotel itself, we have to say the grounds and gardens are beautiful and well-maintained. The gardeners and cleaning staff work throughout the day to keep the hotel clean, tidy and looking so good. The room cleaner was great and kept leaving us artistic decorations with our clean towels and linen, modelling them into swans, hearts, spirals etc. As other people have commented, the loud music emanating from the pool area every morning from 10am onwards is irritating but we were far enough away for it not to be a problem. We found the 'adults only' relaxing pool at the rear of the grounds (no under 16 year olds allowed - so no screaming children or teenagers). The barman at this pool, Ismael, deserves mention, he is a gem, very friendly and helpful and as soon as a family with kids arrived and jumped into this pool he politely requested they move to the family pool, which they did. This is a particularly peaceful area to while away the day with a swim, drink or just to relax, sunbathe, chat to others etc. There are issues with the food which is now, apparently, cooked at the nearby sister hotel, 'Sun City', and brought down to this hotel to be served up. I know that prior to the takeover the food here was known for its excellence. I would not regard it as excellent but there is a massive choice, although is is the same choice with little variation every day. There are nights where fresh items like fish are barbecued in the restaurant itself. On the whole the food was adequate and I always managed to find plenty to eat so I cannot be too critical. It is apparent though, that staff here has been cut since the takeover and as it was near to end of the Turkish holiday season, the remaining staff were over-worked and jaded but remained friendly and helpful. A lot of the staff who were laid-off have moved to the nearby 'Lykia World' complex. The entertainment staff try hard with limited resources and if you like male belly dancers, bingo, Karaoke ect you will probably enjoy it. There is plenty to do outside the hotel if you don't. On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would consider staying here again. The area around the hotel is purpose-built for tourism and abounds with shops, bars and reaturants who will al try and entice you inside with offers of 'best price', 'cheap as chips' and 'cheaper than Primark or Asda' (yes, they've heard about these 2 shops. Prices have increased dramatically since the last time we visited Turkey but it's syll possible to pay less than you would in England for food and drink if you look around. The 'Buzz Beach' bar needs no introduction being the oldest establishment in the town (30 years) and serves great cocktails for £4.50 for 4 hours every evening during the two 'happy hours' (which are 2 hours each???. The views of the beach and mountains from this bar and the beach bars at sunset are spectacular and definitely worth the price of a drink, even if you are 'all inclusive'. The 'Sultan Ahmet' restaurant on the main pedestrian drag through town just off the beach is highly recommnded. The owner and chief 'barker', Murat, is only 27 years old but speaks good English and is a real character, especially with the ladies. The belly dancing night on a Tuesday is well worth a visit if you feel like 'shaking your booty' as she will get both men and womwn up dancing from the customers. During quiet times we sat here several times with the staff and were given free drinks whilst we had a quiet chat. A word of warning, if you want to buy perfumes or after-shaves DON'T buy it from outside the shops in the resort. It looks good, and the testers will be real, but the ones they give you at 'knockdown' prices and more than likely to be fake perfumed water which smells nothing like the original and lasts 2 minutes. Just another tip, consider taking English money and changing it over there. I got 2.16 YTL to the pound before I went but by the end of the holiday you could get 2.35 YLT to the pound in the resort with no commission. It went up from 2.25 whilst we were there. For the English people visiting this resort you must drop in at 'BHS' (Bridgets Home Stores. Bridget is English and runs the big bazaar shop on the beach front with her husband, Mustafa. She knows everyone and everything about what's happening in the area and always has a few Brits sat with her chatting and tea at the front of the shop passing the time of day. Her near neighbour, 'Spice Boy' is another helpful, pleasant guy who sells very nice Turkish Delight which you pick fresh and loose spices and herbs. The only downside to this resort as far as we were concerned was the amount of paragliders landing on the beach and promenade. One of two did not have the same control of their landings as the local pilots who take up tourists for a flight and who know the winds, updraughts and thermals like the backs of their hands. If you are that way inclined, a flight with one of the local pilots is an experience not to be missed but beware of the journey up the mountain to the launch point if you don't like sheer drops and narrow mountain roads - the ride up there was hairier than the flight down.

This hotel was as fantastic ever and after going earlier in the Year they had taken on all my negative comments, (showing June 2008 on here) and turned them around which is more than I expected in 13 weeks.
The food was improving day on day, however the drinks variety at the bar was decreasing due to end of season which is my only negative comment.
The staff were very welcoming and extremely friendly as always, Entertainers Like Emin, Ramcho, and Junior made my holiday and the fact that the hotel accepted that i was a frequent guest and allowed me to work behind the bar a couple of nights made my holiday even better.
The Bar staff were great under the pressure they were under as it was a little understaffed especially the best bar man Mustafa who even went out of his way to escort myself and my friends out in the evenings and check we were safely returned to the hotel!
I am just booking for next September and hoping to stay for 21nights this time and have begun my yearly count down to returning to my home from home again.
Anyone who has a problem with this hotel i would have to ask whether they took the time to speak to the Customer Relations manager as when I asked that the management reverse the sacking of a member of staff earlier in the year the hotel rang him that evening and he started back the next day. So a hotel that would do this for 1 guest I am shocked to hear they couldnt change a room for another.

After visiting this Hotel on a previous occaision, my expectations were high, despite adverse comments by previous guests. Unfortunately the hotel now falls very short on a number of fronts. The food is now very poor with an emphasis on other nationalities except the British. The entertainment was poor with certain members of staff more interested in selling bootleg copies of a CD for £10, which turned out to be a poor copy which did not play. The hotel staff whilst polite in general were poor communicators unless you spoke German. The Air Con was switched off at 5am every morning for two hours which allowed an army of mosquitoes to invade. The medical treatment from the ensuing bites was first class from the on site English speaking Doctor, but I would have been happier if we had not have been bitten in the first place. I am sure that if we had been first time visitors the holiday would have seemed OK but the comparison was always going to be made. One member of staff confided to us that he thought that the new owners were only interested in making money and not in the care of the guests. He openly admitted that since the takeover, the family caring, happy, multi lingual staff had left and had not been replaced with anyone who bore any reasonable comparison.

The main problem as a family we had was the transfer time if your not keen sitting on a bus for 2 hours then its not for you, but let me tell you its well worth the wait. The entertainment is a lot to be desired but all the entertainment staff are fantastic and kept the children(and the men) busy with pool games all the bar staff and waiters were polite and always willing to help out when you needed them.We were a group of 30 so did lots of exciting activities the two you have too try is the island boat trip and paragliding is a must but please go to someone genuine you do pay a bit more but your safe.. Its safe to say we are going back as a group again.
