Comments:  Absolutely fantastic holiday and a lovely hotel. The food, while not gourmet, was very good and plentiful - you could eat practically all day if you wanted to.
Our room and the public areas were spotless and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

Being just 50m from the beach was great, although it was a public beach and you had to pay for sunbeds and parasols. However, there was a free shuttle bus to the hotel's private beach, at the Blue Lagoon, which was beautiful and included food at lunchtime.

There were a few issues - we had requested a double bed rather than twins and a pool view, which we did not get - but these were down to the holiday company, not the hotel. We didn't feel it was worth uprooting ourselves when we really only used the room to sleep in.

Our daughter loved the Mini Club, the evening disco and entertainment. Granted, it was a bit cheesy - but part of the fun of the holiday.

We only got back two days ago and are already considering a return next year. Can't believe there are some people rating it so low - they must have got a bad week.

Comments:  Just literally returned from the Olu Deniz Resort Hotel in early hours of this morning. I have to say it has been my best holiday yet. I am 17 and i went with my mum, dad and sister (who is 15), and we all loved it! We are already considering going back next year.

My overall ratings:

The food- 7/10 - Was good, but needed more of a variety -(as i am english, and i found that they did mainly catered for the russians and turks) and because i am a fussy eater i found that some days i could only eat chips, rice etc.

The entertainment- 9/10- Was fantastic but it did really need to last longer. As it was finished by 10.30pm. However, there was a disco on after which went on till the early hours of the morning, but unfortunately nobody seemed to dance! The nightlife in the town was brilliant as there was lots of clubs and bars, but obviously i did not go to any as i didnt have anybody to go with (as my sister is still too young). but i did get asked to go to the discos on many occasions by a few of the male waiters, chefs and animation team. But, my parents would not allow it:(.

Hotel room- 9/10- We stayed in one of the sea view rooms. It was lovely and clean and much more peaceful than the main hotel complex. The only disadvantage of this was that we had to walk up a big hill to get to the rooms, and after a few drinks, it became quite depressing!

The staff- 10/10- The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Especially the waiters, chefs and the turkish men in general haha!! (i dont think i have ever had as much attention!). All of the animation team were also very friendly and they all spoke very good english.

The swimming pools- 8/10- There is plenty of them, but the main one is too small. We visited Club Sun City Hotel for a day and the swimming pool there, was about twice the size. Also another disadvantage was that all of the sunbeds round the swimming pools were taken, and in order to actually get the sunbeds you would have to put your towels on them at about 7 in the morning.

Hotel overall- !0/10- Well what can i say- i have already priced it up for next year!

Comments:  What can I say, before going on our trip I was a bit nervous after reading some of the comments on this site. However, when we got there it was lovely, the staff were very helpful and the animation team were great trying to keep all ages entertained.
Ramco, Serko, Karen Ayr and the others were great.

We went with our 5 year old daughter and she had a brilliant time. I would agree with some other comments that the food wasnt that wonderful but it was plentiful, but it is a bit of a mad rush at 7.30pm when it opens for dinner.

There is plenty for people to do if they want to take part Crazy Darts with Ramco boules or the shooting, but in that heat all you want to do is lie by the pool.

The mini-club disco is cheesy but just go with the flo you are on holiday and unfortunately my daughter conned us in to buying it so we have had it playing pratically non stop since we returned!!!!!

The pool can get very busy as is expected during the school holidays.

The rooms were lovely and confortable and kept clean my daughter especially liked it when our maid put flowers and patterns on the bed.

This was our first trip to Turkey and we are now looking at returning next year.

Comments:  First time in Turkey and 2007 comments on this hotel were the reason we chose it. Thanks to holiday company, we were booked into chalet type accom underneath the main pool. Had to pay to be moved to acceptable rooms. Air conditioning faulty in one room and reported on 4 separate occasions but did not improve. Meals were not 4* quality no matter what words I choose to use. The fast food poolside was the cheapest quality and, though the Turkish Pizza & ice creams were fine, having to que up so long each time in such hot weather got annoying at times. The evening meal outside was great if you want to compete with the wasps and inside the dining hall the food available was more good than bad - just! Pool bar staff worked hard but the good ones left whilst we were there. Similar staff changes occured in the dining hall. Quite why the main pool needed to house a jewellers and pizza oven was beyond me and they would have been better located in the pool snack bar area. The photography point could also be moved to allow space for the sun beds to be spread out. Being by the main pool was not relaxing at all and the quiet pool would have been a blessing if we were prepared to be separated from our teenage children. The music around the pool was replayed over and over again. I do like Bob Marley but by the sixth play of Buffalo Soldier I had heard enough. I thought Air and the rest of the animation team were doing their best to make everybody happy and though most of the evening entertainment wasn't exactly brilliant, they did try. The "Club Dance" song is actually Turkey's 2007 entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Don't bother getting the DJ CD as it is not on there! The bar drinks were fine. Had to keep pestering for certain drinks (mainly cream liquer - the Turkey version of Baileys) and eventually they did get new stock deliveries. Saw previous review about Bloody Georgeous trips. I went with them for paragliding and some people from this hotel did not show up at 9am for pick up - their loss, it was terrific! Overall, a great location, resort fantastic but will give this hotel a miss for a couple of years until the new staff know what they are doing and the food quality improves.

Comments:  we've recently retuned from spending two weeks at the resort. There was seven of us in total five of us had never been to turkey before. We'd read some negative reviews before we went and to be truthful we were a little worried. But that changed as soon as we entered the hotel,it was so clean and the staff were all helpful and friendly.
The food was very good, there was a variety to choose from, they even catered for toddlers. On the whole we enjoyed every minute of it and would consider going back. The only negative thing about the holiday was that we booked some trips, through a firm called"Bloody Gorgeous". He didn't deliver what he promised. He ripped us off with one trip, another he didn't pick us up.so pleased be warned .Focus and re-action were the best to go with.Ask the staff at the hotel they know which ones to avoid, and who are the best ones.

Comments:  Looking at the previous review I must ask, do you work for a rival hotel. We had no problems at all in our week there. It seems that the only people complaining are people who have been previously, I can't imagine how good it must have been in previous years. We got back at 10pm last night and couldn't wait to post a review. There seemed to be a mix of nationalities when we turned up and generally everyone seemed to get on alright. We were a party of four and often got a table for 4 with no problems. If we were on a table for six we were generally left alone, only once did someone else join us for breakfast and that was no hardship. The food was excellent and there was no shortage, in volume and choice, so long as you put any predudices against trying something different on hold.

If you need a detailed write up have a look at Mr Gilbert's below whom i agree with and the only things I would say is that I can't comment on lunch as we were still too stuffed from breakfast to try it, any day! The snack bar in the olive garden was fine if you like that type of food, which we do now and again, especially accompanied by two 16 year olds.

The only people we saw putting towels on the sunbeds were British and it seemed to get more rowdy after the British school holidays comenced, and by the way, yes I am British!

I'll let my 16 year old daughter take over from here.

Just for all you parents reading this with teenage children I would like to just put in a good word for the hotel after some of the previously bad reviews. After reading some of them before going away, me and my Mum were quite nervous about going especially with all the negative talk about the Russians. All I can say however is that I honestly couldn't single them out from any other nationality and therefore didn't have a problem with them at all!

The food as said by everyone was varied and allowed people of all tastes and ages to enjoy a meal... even if it meant spaghetti bolognaise and chips! I must recommend pancakes in the morning though... with honey or chocolate spread for those of you with a sweet tooth! Pools were all lovely too, especially when needing to desperatly cool off in the heat of the day!

Also the location and surroundings couldnt have been more idyllic and practical. With the beach on your doorstep, mountains in the background and the buzzing town just down the road, how could you complain! The staff were all lovely and always wore a smile even when working a long hot day - many friends were made. In the shops they are very keen to get you to have a look, but mean no harm by it so don't be put off. I promised Verdat, the owner of Spice Boys (the shop just out of the hotel) a mention as he is a freindly person who just loves the company of people, even if you don't buy anything! If you get a chance have a chat and wander around Ghengis Khan's (real name) shop too.

Overall don't be put off, especially as a first timer. As a 16 year old, the holiday couldn't have been better :D.

Comments:  ive just returned from olu deniz with 3 friends and i am amazed by the comments recentley posted, as i have been to this hotel on 4 occasions in the last couple of years.I have to say that i was dreading this visit after i had built up the quality and expectations to my friends then read the comments by people whom seem to have been regulars at the hotel for years and years, I really was not looking foreward to this visit and my fears were right as the whole place has gone down hill to the decree that i would not ever consider returning. It really does make me wonder who is submitting the reports because i doubt they have ever been to the hotel themselves or maybe they are employed by the hotel in an attempt to change the views of the real guests that have been going back year after year. This is extremely sad time for me as i have had some great times at olu deniz resort and i feel that i would never ever recommend it to any of my friends or family. A very sad time for me but i feel that the truth should come out and not false reviews which i can only think of as an inside job.

Comments:  This was my first time at this hotel and I was very worried before going due to the terrible reviews that had been posted. I needed have worried as this hotel was excellent and my family and I had a great time. There are in my opinion improvements that the hotel could make and I and other guests have suggested them to very receptive management and I believe this hotel will only get better over the coming months and next year.

Reception - Very professional and friendly staff. Spoke excellent English. Only complaint here was the price of the safety box (70 YTL) and the late checkout (68 YTL)

Rooms - We were in a room under the kids club and it didn't get much natural daylight due to the location but the room was spotless, big and the beds were comfortable. We hardly spent any time in the room so this wasn't a big issue but if we go back to this hotel then I would ask to stay in the rooms overlooking the Olive Garden.

The maid, although didn't speak good English (although her English is better than my Turkish!), did a very good job.

Hotel Grounds - The grounds were superb. The landscaping was lovely and there were flowers growing everywhere which gave the hotel a lot of colour. There were plenty of marble benches and shaded swinging benches to sit and relax. The gardeners work very hard to keep the grounds looking so good.

Look for the huts with bean bags just past the Olive Garden. They were great to relax in the shade. There are also two large shaded areas at the Olive Garden and where the huts were.

Pools - I can't comment on the relax pool as I didn't go there as we had a small child but it seems like a very good idea and was busy.

The main pool was excellent and very clean. I'm not sure why people are saying they had a problem getting a sunbed. I was there when the hotel was full and as long as you got down to the pool by around 9am then you would get at least 4 beds in a row with a parasol - I did not see anyone having a problem getting a bed. If you just wanted a bed then you could get one at any time.

Only a minor criticism here is that there wasn't much space around the kids pool to put a bed and there weren't as many bins (although staff would regularly pick up any litter of empty drink cups.

Meals

If you come here looking for purely British food then you will be disappointed. The food had to cater for all Nationalities and was a good mix. To be honest, why go to Turkey if all you want to eat is what you get back home!

Also there were no issues with getting a seat. We generally went at the busy times and the 3 of us usually got a table to ourselves but occasionally shared, which was no problem. If you went as a group of more than 6 then you may struggle at busy times but the waiters did a very good job of getting a table for you.

There was also plenty of plates and cutlery and if by chance there was none on your table then the waiters would put new cutlery on your table straight away.

The waiters were very friendly and helpful. They would clear your plates right away, help you to your seat with your food if you were older or had a young child and would get drinks for you. By the end of the holiday, they even knew what drinks to get us without asking! They had to deal with some very abusive guests and to their credit, never reacted!

Breakfast - There was a very good mix. The bread and rolls were fresh and excellent. Plenty of cereals, yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats. The hot section consisted of eggs (boiled, scrambled, fried, French toast and omelettes). There were pastries and sausages (No bacon but Management are looking into this). There was also plenty of fresh fruit.

It did get a bit samey towards the end of the holiday but I don't see what else they could provide for breakfast.

Lunch - Again a very good selection. This time there were soups, bread & rolls, pastas, meat, pizzas, breaded chicken, rice, potatoes, veg, fresh fruit. Basically spoiled for choice.

Dinner - 2 soups, plenty of salad, bread, lots of choice on the self service. This was generally meats in different stews or sauces but all hot and tasty. There was a section where different foods were cooked in front of you. There were stir fries, pastas, grilled meats (fish, chicken, kebabs and steak generally). You sometimes had to queue for 5 mins to get this food so a good tip is to get your rice or potatoes last so they stay hot. There was also a carvery section most nights with either chicken, lamb or beef with gravy or different sauces.

Plenty of fresh fruit again and the sweets were generally cakes which we didn't bother with but there was ice cream some nights.

We never went hungry any night and there were always at least 4 options that we could choose from (sometimes more!).

You could also get Turkish Pizzas at various times of the day. They were lovely and very popular. If you looked, there were also Turkish pancakes being made in one of the shaded huts just past the Olive Garden. You could have meat of lemon & sugar pancakes. These were also superb.

I wasn't impressed with the snack bar as this is not the type of food I generally eat. The food quality here is just like any snack bar back home but this was very popular and the kids seem to love it!

Bars & Drinks - The bar staff were on the whole excellent and friendly. There were some new guys learning the ropes so they were a bit slower. These guys work around 14 hours a day in the heat and have to deal with very demanding customers. I never once had to wait any longer than a couple of minutes for a drink but if I saw the bar we really busy then I would go to the lobby bar or olive garden bar where there was never a queue.

The beer is decent and the vodka is good (and not watered down - trust me!). The white wine was ok with a meal but we didn't drink this any other time. Other guests loved the Gin and Raki, not to mention the cocktails as well. I didn’t hear one complaint about the quality of drink or the barstaff.

There is plenty of water and soft drinks in numerous locations throughout the hotel and if anything ran it then it was replaced within minutes.

Entertainment - I'll start off by saying that they work very hard and are friendly and decent guys but they are not the most talented set of entertainers and the entertainment is very amateurish. This was improving as I left and they have employed a new entertainment manager to oversee this. There was also some live shows that were quite good.

You will end up doing the club dance (as cheesy as it is). The music choice isn't the best at night though and seems to be Turkish club music which was suited best for the guests - a mix of music would have worked better.

The best nights were the beach party, Turkish night and the nights the football was put on a big screen on the stage. We were lucky enough to witness Turkey doing well in the competition and the atmosphere was electric and when they won the 1/4 final the full place erupted and staff and guest partied the full night.

We got on particularly well with Junior (until he was sacked – not sure why) and Ramco.

There were activities during the day (water polo, beach volleyball, darts etc) - my tip is to get involved. This is a great way to meet people and have fun.

I met many lovely people on holiday and this was a very friendly hotel where all Nationalities mixed. Many of the people I met are already booking up for next year. I may do as well, we haven't decided what we are doing next year but if we go back to Olu Deniz then we will stay at this hotel.

So in summary, this is an excellent hotel, that may have had some teething problems but the Management team are working very hard to address any issues and if anything this hotel will only improve further. If you are considering not going after reading some earlier reviews, please take a chance as you will not regret it!

Comments:  I have just returned from another fabulous 2 week holiday at the Oludeniz Resort Hotel in Turkey. This was my second year at this hotel. This hotel is great for families and couples alike. The hotel had been taken over during the winter and although there were a few changes everything ran smoothly. The staff are friendly and approachable especially the Operations Manager, Shahin and Guest Relations coordinator , Irina and nothing is to much trouble. One of the party I was with had a birthday while we were in the hotel and she was well and truly spoilt.

The food is good quality and more variety is being added all the time – in the 2 weeks that I was there they added a pasta bar with freshly cooked pasta and sauces and a baby corner where you could use a microwave to heat milk and cereals available all day. There is a freshly cooked grill section available at each lunch and evening meal time. There is no reason to go hungry here, food is available all day from breakfast till midnight. The Turkish pancakes are now available daily instead of twice a week and the ladies prepare them in front of you so you know they are freshly made. The bread is also daily now instead of bi-weekly and this is delicious although you have to be careful not to fill yourself up on it before dinner. Ice-cream is served every afternoon and I can recommend the ice-cream cakes.

The bar staff were getting more outgoing as the time went on, dancing behind the bar and doing fancy moves with the bottles and cocktail shakers. Their English was improving as well and they appreciated it when you said please and thank you in Turkish.

The animation (entertainment) team work very hard and are very pleasant and funny – they came to sit with us each day. The club dance is infectious and no matter how you think to yourself I won’t be doing that I can guarantee that by the middle of your holiday you are doing it along with everyone else.

The hotel have arranged a weekly cocktail party in the Olive Garden for repeat guests which is new from last year. It is a chance to meet the staff and discuss any issues that you may have with them – they are very keen to know if there any problems you have. Shahin, along with Irina will do their best to sort out any queries you may have. The Olive Garden is decorated beautifully and it is a very relaxing occasion and of course, the cocktails and wine are great.

Just down from the Olive Garden the hotel has put up some huts filled with bean bag cushions –these were a big hit with the kids of all ages as they could go and hang out there. Some evenings a film was shown in the area so they could watch that as well.

I did miss some faces from last year but things move on and after a couple of days it was like I had never been away from last year. I made some new friends and caught up with some old ones, Farhat who runs the Jewellers and Vulkan and Sinan who run the 24 hour shop. I am missing it still since being home and can’t wait for next year when I will definitely be returning.

Comments:  After reading reviews we were very worried but decided to go with an open mind and what a great decision. When we arrived we were given cool flannels and a glass of chilled orange. The food was great and you can eat all day if you wish the omlettes in a morning are delicious. The room wasn't that big but we only used it to sleep in and get changed in the evening.Irana organised my husbands birthday cake ( free ) and the maids made the towels into hearts on the bed covered in flower petals,a bottle of wine was also left and a bowl of fruit. The pool was spotless and everywhere was very clean and tidy.We didn't have to wait long for drinks from the bar .I would like to say to those people who write such bad reviews is stay in England if you want english food I know you have an opinian but not telling it how it really is is spoiling peoples expectations of the hotel or perhaps thats the result you want.If you're going to this hotel have a wonderfull time we did! Comments:  Anyone who had booked this hotel and only then come across some of the postings from earlier this year, as I did, could well set off wondering if they had done the right thing, as I did. No need to panic, the place is wonderful, the staff without exception are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful, lots of staff at the bars and in the restaurant, the choice is endless, the quality good and everywhere is spotless, we had a room in a newish development a few yards up in the hills and I can't praise it highly enough. Great value for money, our first experience of all inclusive and we will return.
Irina is indeed an asset and without her my luggage may well still be in Manchester!!

Comments:  part 2.

I would also like to say that the Daily entertainment was fantastic and found myself being more active than at home! The music being played was much better than previous years and just to note on a previous comment most club 18-30's dont play Sting/Tom Jones and Frank Sinatra!!!!

This page seems to be full of repeat visitors comments and if you look at Sun City's comments - same hotel company and where the food is cooked - people are giving it 10/10!?!

As for the comments on the Bar Staff's English - with all due respect we are in their country where their language is Turkish and if you want your bar staff to be fluent in English may I suggest going somewhere like Australia/USA where their native tongue is what you wish.

As for the comments of theft in the hotel room, there are safes in every room for a small sub charge and we used this facility and didnt have this problem.

Please try to be positive as well as having constructive criticism as our holiday improved every day and we only stayed for one week!
