If you can afford to splurge on a place to stay in Edinburgh this is it! Centrally located right on the Royal Mile it's an excellent place to stay, as you're right in the heart of things. Parking is provided cut price underneath the hotel, you'll need to phone the hotel in... more

Stayed during the Festival so expected a bit of noise but this was fair price to pay for the location which is excellent. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room wasn't large but very smart and comfortable and despite the size of bathroom had a bath! Ate dinner in the bar which... more

Perfect location for exploring Edinburgh
My daughter and I stayed at the Radisson SAS April 23-26 on our first trip to Edinburgh. It's in a great location, and the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. The people at reception and guest services were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean, had two twin beds, and was non-smoking as requested. We had a lovely view of Arthur's Seat and Salisbury Crags. Our room had all of the amenities you would expect to find in a good hotel, including in-room safe, mini-bar, and a generous selection of toiletries. Great shower, too, with... more
Great Hotel, Great Location!!!
My girlfriend and I loved the feel of this hotel. It was a modern hotel but it was blended in to not standout in the city of Edinburgh. The room was big, as was the bed. We stayed here 3 nights and we would stay again. Great location on the Royal Mile: very close to shops, restaurants and tourist destinations. It was also a 5 minute walk to Waverly Train Station. Stay here over anywhere else!
Good hotel in central Edinburgh
The Radisson is a very well designed modern hotel in an old building in central Edinburgh. As many of the other reviews point out, its location is one of its assets. It's right on the Royal Mile, which means that if you're sightseeing, you couldn't be better placed. It's also surrounded by cafes, restaurants and other eateries, cheap and expensive, so there's no need to eat in at any time of day. The rooms are very well appointed. I got here at lunchtime to find a very pleasant clean room, warm, comfortable, and quite spacious given... more
Excellent location - nice hotel
This hotel is in an ideal location to explore the wonders of Edinburgh - situated on the Royal Mile. The rooms are stylish and very comfortable. The rooms are excellently furnished with a great bathroom. The extra touch of having free Broadband access was a great discovery (they will also supply the CAT 5 cabling required)- the concierge even gave us a token to have 24 hour free WiFi broadband access. My only concern is that some of the reception staff perhaps need to refresh their customer care skills. They were not rude or... more
Wonderful Location
We stayed in the Radisson SAS Edinburgh for two nights in mid March 2006. Overall the hotel was wonderful. Very friendly and staff. Decent price, there were cheaper hotels but looking at them in person while in edinburgh you could tell why. The amenities were great. The location was perfect, right on the Royal Mile and very close to Princess street and all the shopping/food. I would definetly choose the SAS again.
Excellent!
This was our first hotel after flying into Edinbourgh. We were exhausted and nervous about going into the city for the first time. The SAS was a fantasic surprise..much nicer than we anticipated. All that everyone says about it is true! BTW, they do have terrific "family" rooms with a king and two twin beds for people traveling with small children.
The Radisson Rocks!
We have just arrived home after an overnight stay at the Radisson...EXCELLENT!!! Room was available for check-in on arrival at midday, very spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the usual room amenities you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic and one of the best in the City. The public areas are modern and well kept and although the bar is quite small for the size of the hotel, it is welcoming and bar staff are attentive. Breakfast was first class, with a wide variety of foods to choose from. I... more
Excellent Location and Views
The hotel is in a great location, unless you want to be right on Princes Street, but Princes Street is for the daytime. For going out, here is brilliant. The hotel is great, lovely views, nice bar, good staff, great breakfast. Only complaint is the leisure centre, particularly the pool, a bit grubby and in need of upgrading.
Superb Hotel - luxury rooms and friendly staff
Just back from wonderful weekend staying at this hotel. I had room 458 which was a fantastic room, windows on two sides and lovely views across Edinburgh to the hills and sea. Bit of building noise on first morning from building site outside but it did not disturb me unduly. No noise for the remaining two mornings. Other friends (party of nine) were also very happy with their rooms and did not have building site outside. One of the biggest rooms I have stayed in, and friends rooms which were not business class were the same size.... more
Edinburgh's Best Location!
As I had visited Edinburgh back in november, I had set my eyes upon staying at the Radisson SAS for its perfect location months ago. Reading the other comments, I was delighted to see they were positive, and I am even more delighted to confirm them. Perfectly positionned next to the castle, the shopping on Prince street, the pubs in Grassmarket and the Waverley train station, walking everywhere was no problem, even for 2 girls wearing heels. The room is perfect with neat design, powerful shower, free broadband access,... more
