las tabaibas is in a great location over the road from the playa grande area beach. thats where you want to be. CENTRAL!!!!! a quiet residential/holiday maker complex of about 50 apartments. if you know puerto del carmen, its near titos kareoke bar, the sports bar, the galleon bar and to the left is near the toby jug and the spanish bar. its about 2 minutes from linekars bar go right, do your homework about the apartments some are better than others. web site TALANZA.COM is recommended they have apartments and villas here and elsewhere. cant fault this complex coz we got a great apartment with home comforts.

Las Tabaybas, Puerto del Carmen. A beautiful, small, private, two-storey apartment complex with lovely well kept gardens and pool area. Loungers with every apartment to use at the pool so no 'towels on the loungers' syndrome! Small, shallow pool ideal for the kids linked to a deeper pool. Views from the top apartments to the main Fariones beach and the mountains - also views from the pool area reached by a short flight of steps.

Choose the garden apartments to be a bit quieter although when we were there in June there were not many visitors and the pool area was very lazy and quiet. No bar facilities on the complex but restaurants and bars literally on your doorstep. Surprisingly, absolutely no noise from the front line even when sitting out on the patio well after midnight.

We had a two, twin bedroom apartment with large bathroom (shower over the bath), good-sized kitchen area with fridge, full cooker, kettle, toaster etc. With breakfast bar to the lounge. Could accommodate six on put-u-up beds in the lounge. Tele with video and loads of videos supplied for the children. Lots of apartments are privately owned and everybody very friendly and helpful. No need for a car as all supermarkets etc a short stroll away. But ..... The frontline supermarkets are very pricey. If you want to self cater in style head for the hypermarket where everything is fresh and half the cost. A taxi will get you there in 10 minutes. We hired a jeep from the airport booked via the Internet and was waiting for collection when we arrived. Useful if you want to see the Island but not essential. Try the old harbour restaurants at night for lovely food and amazing views or the new harbour at Puerto Calero if you want to sample the millionaire lifestyle and yacht watch!

Can’t fault the holiday in any way. Sea is clear and wonderful for diving or snorkelling, safe on the main beach for young children. Try the 'Flying Dutchman' bar for a good beer or Sunset Beach for breakfast and homemade beef burgers - beats Maccies any day! In June there was a nice breeze to cool you off in the evening (pack a light sweater or jacket) otherwise the weather was hot, sunny and absolutely perfect. Going back in September but had a lot of trouble getting back onto Tabaybas, so recommend book early. Worth every penny.
