Excellent hotel, friendly helpful staff, good food, clean good sized rooms and breathtaking sceanery and 5 minute walk to the beach and main shopping area.
Given a card to swipe to pay for everything in hotel then just settle bill when checking out, relaxing bar area with pool table and large screen tv.
When sunbathing look up to see the paragliders floating down from the mountain to land on the beach.
If you fancy a full english breakfast or evening meal try Pine Trees and speak to Paris.
We booked excursions through 'Bloody Georgeous' and got value for money. Would recommend going to Ephesus & Pamukkale but is a two day trip with a long drive so not for small children. Mud baths are a must for a good relaxing day out and a claim to make you 10 years younger! Jeep safari, Quad bikes and Kaya (ghost town) all good trips.
Hop on a dolmus to Hisaronu market on a Monday or the larger Fethiye market on Tuesday. Stallholders will tempt you with free tastes of tukish delight and apple tea. Be prepared to haggle for goods and pay approx 2/3rds of starting price.
Lovely picturesque village, would definately go again.

Hotel was in a good location, not far from the beach. Room okay although not keen on old carpet and balcony very small.
The staff were very friendly. The breakfast is typically Turkish and there is the same choice every day which can be a bit boring when you are there for 14 days. Their restaurant the Olive Grove does good food and you get 10% off if you are staying there.
Wrong time of year to go as it was uncomfortably VERY hot over 40c.

Just back from Montebello Hotel. We were very impressed with the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food.
The evening meal was especially good and came on an 'a la carte' basis, which you don't always get with half-board. The helpings were very generous too.
My only gripe is that what is classed as a 'family room' is in fact a double with two extra single beds squeezed in - no gaps in between, you had to climb into bed from the end, and the telephone disappeared under the beds on the first day.
We had to work out a passing routine as there was only room for one person to stand up at a time! Not great.
The beds are really hard and I had two sore hips when I got home. Still, the room was clean and nice and cool with the air con which came with whizzy adjustable remote control.

I had a fantastic time last year in Olu Deniz. I went with my parents and my younger brother. We arrived at the hotel greeted by Ilker and Meme who showed us to our rooms. Ilker invited my mother and me to the bar for a drink... despite being very tired after a long journey and it being gone 11:30pm we all went to the bar for a drink anyway. We met Atilla the bar manager who was very friendly and always trying to show off (he does repeat everything you say to, which is quite entertaining). The bar stays open until the last people leave so it can close any time from 11 to 4am. Often I saw Ilker and Atilla (mainly Atilla) asleep out on the sun loungers.
The beach is absolutely stunning and despite the crowds of people it was very relaxing to lie in the sun for hours on end (with plenty of sun cream). Everyday walking to the beach and back we were greeted by Adam who ran a Turkish Delight shop about two minutes from the beach... he was a very nice guy and we are still in touch now, we have become good friends.
I went swimming with Meme one day which was nice to get to know the staff outside of their work. We went on a boat trip which was ok but I am not good with boats, my brother was sick and my mum wanted to jump off but it wasn't too bad =).
We went to the Fethiye market on a tour bus which was interesting and we went to see the ruins which was a trip worth doing. My dad went micro-lighting which he really enjoyed and we were given a DVD as a souvenir.
I had a couple of bad experiences from the hotel staff whom I won't mention as they were awfully nice to me otherwise but a warning for those of you with daughters around 16 - 21 or if you are around 16 - 21, may I say that the staff do have or can get hold of a key to your room, as I found out.
I got salmonella food poisoning went out in turkey, I don't know what from so be careful what you are eating as it is possible.
Despite these two little things I had such a fantastic time... I met two amazing friends who I went clubbing with every night from when I met them. Hisoronu is a short distance form Olu Deniz and is the place to go for night-life.
I would definitely recommend anyone to Olu Deniz and I am hopefully off next year with a close friend but I will be such to be carefully of the men around me. Overall a good holiday. I didn't want to leave.

Just come back with my son from two fabulous weeks in Olu-Deniz, Turkey.
Although this was my 6th visit to the very beautiful island, the hotel Montebello was the best hotel that i have stayed in. From reception, cleaners to staff and the big bosses, this was the place (hotel) to be.
From getting off the shuttle bus at the hotel, I realised that the staff were going to be first class and they were. I will definately stay at the hotel again and friends we met on holiday at the Montebello will stay next time they visit.
Don't take my word for it though... book the Montebello for a first class holiday.

We stayed here as a last minute booking, we wanted something that was value for money and close to all the area had to offer. We arrived in the early hours to be greeted warmly and booking in and to our room was a breeze.
The room was a twin which we were a bit surprised about and the room a little on the small side, however it was clean. We had the garden block right at the back with a very small balcony, which looked out to other hotels and was quite quiet. There was a small dressing table and a 60/40 split wardrobe, two bed side tables and two chairs on the balcony. They gave you a charge card which meant that you didn't need cash at the poolside so this made things easier but keep an eye on it as you can forget how much you spend!
They have been improving the hotel each year and the accommodation blocks, pool, toilets have been upgraded to a higher level and would appear our block would be upgraded in the winter 2007/8.
Breakfast was a typical Turkish affair, toast, bread, olives, two cheeses, cornflakes, eggs and various other jams, tea and coffee etc, which was adequate and we tried various variations over the two weeks while we were there.
We were there when temperatures exceeded 40C and regularly hit 42 - 45c with free air conditioning in our room was a welcome pleasure coming in from the pool/beach.
The bar area/restaurant had lots of fans, sky TV, 42in screen, bar area, two large fireplaces at either end and a small book case for swapping books. The restaurant served reasonably priced lunches; a hamburger with chips and salad would cost around 750YTL (£3.00). They also sold ice lollies, crisps, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks throughout the day. Every 4pm they would come around the pool area selling tea, coffee and various cakes.
The biggest asset this hotel has is its staff, very friendly, helpful and a good command of English. They were very attentive and tried very hard to make our stay as happy and enjoyable as possible.
The hotel is located towards the top of the area but the beach, lagoon, shops, restaurants and sea front was within easy walking distance by all and would take less that 10 minutes to reach the beach.
Overall we had a very enjoyable holiday at this hotel; we met a number of couples/families that have returned to the same hotel more than once, which does confirm how other people view this hotel as well! If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a good position this hotel is worth considering.

It's always a tricky one, giving a critique of somewhere as, 'one man's meat ..........
I have visited Turkey three times now over the past 10 years and I would say that Olu Deniz (in my opinion) has to be the worst place ever. If you want to experience REAL turkey then don't go there, it's aimed purely and simply for the Sun readers of the world with it's tacky bars and restaurants.
I'll admit there were a whole load of people there who seemed to be enjoying the whole Olu experience but I found it really hard to escape the 'kiss me quick' scene and felt I could have been anywhere really.
The Montebello was basic but clean. I didn't mind the breakfast as it's fairly standard fare in these countries and at least was healthy. I wasn't keen though on how people at breakfast were approached to buy tickets for that evening's meal.
I had specifically asked for a quiet hotel as I wanted a holiday to convalesce from an operation I'd recently had. It's not at all quiet or peaceful. After reading a few reviews of this hotel, I can fully agree with them about the noise levels. Not only for the Wednesday barbecue night, but other nights also.
I complained on a few occasions about the noise and had it been mentioned in the brochure then at least I would have known and looked elsewhere. The staff at the Montebello were very sweet and obliging. I had to change rooms due to a couple next door to me trying to kill one another every night, (alcohol fuelled) nothing was too much trouble.
I do think that some of the locals have a bad time with some british tourists who visit and for that I do feel for them. Obviously this is their livelihood so pleasing tourists is in their best interests but some of people I came across during my time there, were yobby to say the least and I'm sure that the Turks are worn down by it. It was embarrassing at times.
I ended up spending most of my evenings in the Buzz Bar, a place I would highly recommend, both upstairs and down. The people who own and run the place are chilled and very chic. The food is great and the music also.
I did have some dreadful meals elsewhere though and felt it insulting to think that british people want to spend their time eating 'fry up's with Tesco Sausages (that's what they advertise), HP sauce and PG Tips. Aaaarh! I accept that some people need this 'home from home' stuff but please, not everywhere! Authentic Turkish cuisine is healthy and delicious but alas I found no where there to experience it whilst I was there.
The stinger for me was to discover that I had paid £150 OVER the book price for my trip - this was my oversight but at £600 for a fortnight I would have expected better accommodation.
To summarise, this is not a place for an independent sophisticated person whatsoever. The fact that the resort is basic is fine and to be expected but it was far too commercial and tacky for my liking.
I visited Kalkan a few years ago and what a contrast. It was a fabulous blend of authentic turkey; amazing places to eat, nice bars, hassle factor not half as bad and at least polite and with the little art and ottoman antique shops it was an amazing place to visit. I have to add also that the Kalkan holiday that we had was cheaper than this one in Olu Deniz.
But hey! This is only my opinion.

I and my partner have just got back from a wonderful holiday at the Montebello. The Montebello hotel exceeded our expectations. I was fully aware before we travelled that we had got a great cheap deal and that we were going to be in a very simple 2* hotel. However on arrival at the hotel both of us were so pleased! We had a very warm greeting at reception. One of the staff carried our entire luggage up to our room and made sure everything was ok.
We had a lovely spacious room looking over the pool area. It had a lovely balcony. It was quite small but had enough room for two chairs so we could sit out there in the evenings. The hotel is very pretty. The rooms are very simple but clean. You have fresh towels and sheets every day. It is a perfect location because it’s away from all the noise, but only a 5 minute walk away from the beach, shops and restaurants.
The staff were so friendly at this hotel. We went to Turkish night which was well worth the money. You get all food included and a glass of wine. The entertainment is brilliant and the staff are very proud of it. They are quite pushy for you to get tickets but I was impressed.
As well as the hotel the resort itself was lovely. The water was crystal clear and the weather was great. There are so many bars and restaurants to choose from and lovely cocktails. The Buzz bar has great views over the bay.
All in all this holiday was 10/10. The hotel was so lovely and attractive. Staff lovely and resort perfect!

Olu Deniz is a great place for a holiday.
If you are thinking of going please don’t worry about hotel reviews. It is 99% likely that the hotel that gets a poor review for 2006 has been reburshished and is fine now.
The Montebello is an example - the furnishings now are good. The pool is small but guests come back year after year. Bars and shops change from winter to summer and ownership changes too so reviews quickly become out of date.
After 5 trips there we can safely say the Lemon Tree, Olive Grove and Le Mare are constantly good value. Be aware that prices increase the closer to the beach front you get - so check first. The Turks are friendly and not overly pushy and seem genuinely interested. Go and enjoy.

Absolutely Brilliant Hotel!!
I was so impressed with this hotel! Brilliantly situated, immaculately clean, friendly helpful staff and great atmosphere, it's everything you want for a great holiday.
I can't stress enough how clean this hotel is. Everything is kept neat, tidy and welcoming. The rooms are basic, but very comfortable. The pool area is lovely, the loungers are again immaculate, as is the pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is very close to both the beach and the resort centre, and can offer a base for a busy family activity holiday, but would equally suit a couple looking for a quiet getaway. The hotel also attracts guests of all ages, which makes for a brilliant atmosphere.
The resort itself is fantastic, and caters for both active individuals (with paragliding, speed boating, horse riding, camel riding, scuba diving etc.) aswell as individuals looking for a relaxing holiday (check out the lagoon). The local shop/restaurant owners can be a bit pushy with selling but generally back down when told your not interested. All local people i encountered are extremely friendly and most speak really good English. All food vendors/chefs/waiters i encountered were also extremely clean and food was handled in a very hygienic manner, (no poorly tummies here!).
A trip to the lagoon is well worth it. If approached from the main beach a small cost is incurred, however, to avoid this cost make your way to 'Suara beach' which is free entry (take the road to the far right of the lagoon toll booth). Local people may try to charge you for placing your towel on the sand (!!!) but my partner and i just pointed out that there were no signs stating this cost and we were 'let off'.
Overall a brilliant holiday in a brilliant hotel, highly recommended.

Room size not bad for the money with TV and air con (latter definitely needed in the heat wave temperatures), block 3 at the back of the complex, more quiet than poolside.
Rooms kept really clean by cleaners who were very friendly. Did ask for double bed but didn't get one so pushed the two singles together and the cleaner got making the King size bed up as a double daily!
Adult Pool not so big but sufficed since the beach is a stroll down the road.
Breakfast was a pretty good spread. Generally happy, helpful staff but watch out if you have a Turkish boyfriend as I do, since I found we got questioned one night on our way to our room, and I have to say we've been together a long time so this irritated the hell out of me given the room booked was a double and the room was booked in both names.
Also asked for a late check out on the day we were leaving since flight was at 9.20pm and wanted to keep the room till around 5.00 and was asked to pay £20, which I thought was a bit stiff given what we'd paid for 7 nights worked out less per night than the 5 hours extension!
Also didn't get a receipt for the £20 which I did actually ask for and they said at reception 'doesn't matter we know which room!’ ...bit cheeky I think.
Found some pushy tour operators asking to re-confirm flights home always around when new people came in... Needless to say I didn't bother with meeting the contact who left me a note having missed me the first time around. I knew I didn't have to re-confirm since Thomson told me on the outbound flight and I am well travelled and have been to/from Dalaman to this area many times.
Don't let my review put you off this hotel in any way since it is basically not a bad place and in general comfortable and clean for what you pay to stay here.

Great hotel. Location was superb as just on the fringes of the resort, however we didn't realise and spent the first night saying how quiet it was.
Then on the second and third night’s, boy did we find the main resort!
Hotel was fine had all the requirements and a nice swimming pool and bar with happy hour.
Great resort and would def go back and stay at this hotel.
Make sure you do the paragliding; we didn't and regretted it all the way back to the airport.
