For a Holiday Inn, this was a very well maintained hotel. Rooms clean and well presented, plenty big enough for my family of three. The location of this hotel made our stay more pleasant as we were not in the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but yet within close... more

This hotel is on the outskirts of the city. One of the reasons we selected it was for the large free car park, which is very unusual for Edinburgh, and we were driving up rather than plane/train. The hotel is typical Holiday Inn; rooms were clean and tidy, with no... more

The City was wonderful, vibrant, alive, with courteous people and warm hospitality where ever we went. The Hotel also was better than average. Edinburgh Most certainly deserves the title. "The Athens of the North" The food in the hotel was overall pretty good, with seasonal... more

Great value and good location
Four of us spent a weekend here and had a great stay. Comfortable, very clean rooms, convenient parking and friendly staff. The breakfast was good - free papers too. Very convenient for getting a bus to and from the city centre - the bus stop is just outside. Close to the Ocean Terminal which has a nice cinema and some lovely restaurants. If you are visiting the Brittania, check out the money-off deals at local restaurants, including the Baxters Restuarant and the Brittania Spice which is just next to the hotel and served some of the best curries we've had. Will definitely return again.
Go eat at Daniels' Bistro
Stayed at HIE overnight on business. Great location next to Ocean Terminal. Room spacious and clean and really comfortable beds. Reception were fantastic. Just ask them if you want anything - if they haven't already offered to help! Attentive and courteous. Breakfast was self serve and all good quality. Internet access available. Highly recommend a bistro called Daniels which is about 1 mile from hotel. Fantastic food.
Get inn here you wee laddies and lassies
Stayed here for 2 nights in October with wife and daughter (19). Room was clean, tidy and warm. Beds comfy as well. Breakfast was included in tarrif There was heaps of parking available. Bus stop right outside (route 22 to town) and Ocean Terminal shopping and cinema across the road. We also walked up to the MAYA Resturant for my daughters birthday tea and it was fantastic. The service at the hotel was also exceptional. i needed to confirm a onward hotel and they printed the reservation slip etc for me and also printed the map Exceptional assistance.
Good Budget Hotel
Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was quiet & very clean. Excellent location next to Ocean Terminal (Shops & restaurants) and Britannia (Tourist). Bus stop at front door takes 10 mins to the center of Edinburgh. Center of Leith is 500 yards away and worth the stroll. Plenty of bars & restaurants here. Breakfast was busy and the food/choice was adequate -continental buffet style. Would stay her again - good budget Hotel. Botanical Gardens are only 1-2 miles away - well woth a visit if you prefer the quieter side of Edinburgh.
A New view of Edinburgh
We booked this last minute and hoped for the best what with it being out of town. Apart from what we found to be VERY HARD BEDS (would have given another star if they were more comfy), it was an excellent choice! Clean, quite and extremely well located within the developing docklands. Arriving at Waverly station, we opted for the no 22 bus which drops you off right outside and at £2.30 for a day ticket, was an absolute bargain. We stayed Sat thru Sun and were delighted to find that breakfast was served until 11.30am. There are loads of good restaurants and bars nearby, a shopping centre accross the road with a great selection of shops and a number of restaurants many of which which look out over the Royal Yacht and waterfront which is lovely. With the advantage of the number 22 bus to take you back up to the centre of town, we'd certainly stay there again.
