This modern 3 star hotel is located next to the Royal Yacht Britannia, the new Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre and Multiplex Cinema and is only 1 1/2 miles from Princes Street and the city's many famous attractions. A frequent bus service runs to the city centre from the hotel whilst there is also ample free parking. The bedrooms are well equipped with modern amenities including television with SKY channels, in-house movies, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. A wide choice of food and beverage is included in the continental buffet breakfast and there is also a bar whilst many excellent restaurants are close by.

For a Holiday Inn, this was a very well maintained hotel. Rooms clean and well presented, plenty big enough for my family of three.

The location of this hotel made our stay more pleasant as we were not in the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but yet within close proximity of all the attractions the city has to offer. The staff are extremely helpful and are on hand 24 hours aday for what ever needs you require. Anyone looking for a budget break to Edinburgh I would certainly reccomed staying here.

This hotel is on the outskirts of the city. One of the reasons we selected it was for the large free car park, which is very unusual for Edinburgh, and we were driving up rather than plane/train.

The hotel is typical Holiday Inn; rooms were clean and tidy, with no surprises. There is a small bar, but visiting Edinburgh it is a waste of time staying in the hotel to have a drink! The breakfast was fine with a good selection - and the staff kept everything well stocked and the breakfast tables cleaned.

For some the location might be problem - we decided to walk into the city via Leith Walk, it was a simple enough walk but took a bit longer than we expected. We got a taxi back at the end of the night, and it was only £5.

We actually liked the location as it was easy to get to, no need to drive through the city, which can be difficult - just follow the signs for the Royal Yacht and it is a bonus having Britannia on your doorstep. There is also a huge shopping centre right over the road from the hotel, with plenty of places to eat and drink.

Leith is an area with a lot spent on it, and is much improved from a few years ago. There are plenty of bars around - and a well renowned Indian Restaurant right on the doorstep

I would stay here again.

The City was wonderful, vibrant, alive, with courteous people and warm hospitality where ever we went. The Hotel also was better than average. Edinburgh Most certainly deserves the title. "The Athens of the North"

The food in the hotel was overall pretty good, with seasonal dishes changed daily.

Our accommodation was spotless, and cleaned daily.
