We arrives at 6am in the norning after a 4 hour delay at the airport, we were taken to our room by a grumpy male member of staff, where we collaped, and needed to sleep, my sister and I just layed on the beds and slept for a while, when we woke after 3/4 hours we had no water in the room, so we had to go and buy some, but we had nothing to drink from in the room, we opened the curtains(these had cigarette burns in and were dirty) to have a look around and a shower, we found that the bedcovers were full of cigarette burns and not very clean at all, there was no top sheet only a hard cardboard like cover, there was only 1 pillow each and these were not very clean, we had to beg another pillow each, we only had 1 towel each and they were very thin with holes in, the bathroom had a leak everytime the people above us used thier shower,we also had cockroaches, and ants, the ants were in the bathroom/living room and even covered our toothbrushes(so we had to keep tied up in a plastic bag)the ants where running along the dado rails in the room and even up and down the electrical wires!!our floor was not cleaned the whole of the time we were there(2 wks) we had to ask for our bedlinen to be changed after 1 wk, the charged for a/c-fridge and sec box ,set us back another £140 for the fortnight, We asked to go to another room but were told there was none although there was a advert outside the hotel all the time we were there, advertising vancacies, Breakfast was basic hard boiled eggs, bread, cheese, tomatoes and a few corn flakes(thank god) the tea tasted as though it was stewed all week and they had just added more teabags every day.Turkey was not cheap infact it was more expensive that England on most things, AND BEWARE OF THE AIRPORT WHEN YOU GO HOME THEY OVERCHARGE ON EVERYTHING MACDONALDS £12.00, KFC £13.00 SANWICH £7.00 SO TAKE SOMETHING WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO HOME!!CAN OF COKE £2.50. I would rather stay at home in the rain than go to this hotel ever again, but Turkey as a country was quite nice we had a good look around the country whilst we were there, if you go avoid the Majestic!!!!!

after a traumatic journey on a coach...

Aug 2008, Mrs D Parker

after a traumatic journey on a coach that had no air conditioning and looked and felt like it was on its last journey we arrived at the Majestic Hotel on the edge of Olu Deniz. The staff were un co operative infact quite rude, we were directed to a ground floor room that was filthy, the bedding was dirty, stained and had not been changed. The shower door was only held in place with one hinge, and the water was cold. We could not feel any form of security in the room as there was no lock on the door, and were informed that it might be mended in the week. After complaining to the staff and the holiday rep we were informed that we could not be moved because there was no accomodation in the whole of Olu Deniz, the staff and rep then said we had to stay in this disgusting hotel until they could sort out something more satisfactory. after a sleepless night we found our own accomodation but had to pay an extra £260 to stay there and adding insult to injury we were made to pay £72 pounds as a form of apology to actually be able to leave the premises. I would advise anyone thinking about booking a holiday with this Hotel and company to quickly change your holiday! We gave the rep a letter before we left Olu Deniz but as yet have not heard from them. I will take this matter futher to get my monies back due to their lack of help. Stay clear of this hotel be warned.

Aug 2008, Miss S Hicks

After a long nights travelling (3 hour delay) and arriving at hotel at 9am, we pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received, this level of friendliness from staff continued throughout our stay, it was really nice. Our room was perfect for the price we paid, the hotel is exactly how it is described and we really enjoyed using the pool everyday, in august, as expected the pool does get busy - however the beautiful beach is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Olu deniz is a lovely resort with lots to do (highly recommend a boat trip and paragliding) but consists of mainly english tourists, thus the food mainly caters for English - dont expect many Turkish dishes. The hotel breakfasts were simple but perfectly adequte. Overall we had a brilliant holiday and highly recomed Majestic, mainly due to the very friendly staff.

Aug 2008, Mr P M Johnson

ariving at 06.30.my wife,my self, and our seven year old daughter,we was looking forward to our weeks holiday in olu deniz, having been to turkey many many times, and knowing the resort very well, shock horror when we went through the gates of this hotel.we was meet by a very dirty looking chap, who booked us in,first impressions was that of a very crampt pool area with sun loungers on top of each other, and very dirty, the grounds were shrown with rubbish, once booked in we was taken to our room.it was a very small basement room, twin, and single beds, dirty linen, very dark, and stinking of damp,a shower which an adult could not fit in,and very little room to move, when asked if ther was any other rooms that we could move into,we was told no.i told the man in question that we did not want to spend a week in this room, why whats the problem.we asked to see the manager, and was told not untill 8.30.i then asked if i could get a drink for my wife and daughter,no was the reply, not untill 8.30.my wife asked if she could use the phone, again we was refused and told no,there was no help whats so ever from the staff, and more to the point they did not seam to care,we told them that we was not stopping and wanted to talk to somebody,we then had no luck trying to contact our rep,we left the hotel after finding some where else to stop, after many phone calls to the reps office, not once did we get any return calls or messages.more to the point, our concern over transfers was not returned.we ended up in a hotel that was out of the resort we booked to stay in,that cost us more money, but we had to pay £60.00 to get us to the airport.our holiday was a total upset for my family and i,but an added cost from savings, which we had to borrow, due to the lack of help, from this hotel, and our company rep.i would never advise this hotel to any one.

Aug 2008, Mrs N Taylor

This has to be the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. The staff if you can call them staff are ignorant. When you try to talk to them they make out they don't inderstand you. And if that truly is the case shouldnt the management be employing people that can communicate with the guests. They are rude if you dont want to get involved. My son got an ear infection in both ears while we were there and there was about 8 other people that also had ear infections. Having spoke to locals about it they told us that the hotel cant be putting enough chemicals in the pool to accomadate the amount of people going into the pool. Also we got mouth ulcers and cold sores all due to the pool. Even when you got in the pool in the afternoon it was not refreshing in any way, it just felt still and stagnent.
This was my 4th time to olu deniz as i love the place so much. If this had been my first impression of olu deniz i would never come back. this hotel lets the whole resort down because this is such a beautiful place to stay in. I wil be coming back to olu deniz next year, but i wont be staying at the majestic and i will tell everyone to stay away from it

Jul 2008, Miss E Martin

After reading some of the reviews I was getting worried about having booked this hotel. Thankfully the hotel was lovely, the breakfast was traditionally Turkish which is what I would expect in Turkey! The room was fine, it makes common sense to get a safety deposit box which wasn't expensive. Only problem really was sometimes the music at the bar wouldn't get switched off till late, and there was hardly ever any spare sunbeds if you had a lie in. But with the stunning blue lagoon and local beach I never went to the pool anyway. So, if you have booked this hotel, worry not. As much as it is not the Ritz,it isn't a dive either. You get what you pay for, and makes an ideal base from which to explore the local area.

After reading the comments posted on...

Jul 2008, Miss N CRAIG VELLA

After reading the comments posted on the website, I really didn’t know what to expect from this hotel, You could say my friend and I were apprehensive..what if the hotel was as awful as some people had made it out to be. As it turns out, the hotel and staff turned out to be quite the opposite I can positively say, I’ve never met a hotel with more friendlier and helpful staff.
On the first night we found ourselves in a room with a double bed when at time of booking we’d asked for singles. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating when we asked if we could change rooms, even helping us move our luggage between rooms. Yes, breakfast is basic, but the meal in the evening is the most amazing Turkish cuisine we tasted all holiday, fully worth paying for if you are B&B!!
When my friend injured herself ne evening, the staff were so helpful, ringing the hospital and driving us there at 2am! I couldn’t thank them enough!! Due to the nature of her injury, my friend was unable to move to far from the hotel, which didn’t pose a problem as we had every thing we needed right there! The pool was always clean, as were the linens and towels provided! Its just a shame we were unable to attend Turkish night!! Watch out for the cakes at 3.30!! Highly calorific..but very tasty!
I enjoyed my time at the Majestic immensely, and shed a few tears when It was time to leave. I would totally recommend this hotel!! Thank you Majestic for the most amazing week!!

Having booked the holiday in haste I...
1 / 10
Jul 2008, Ms S Smith

Having booked the holiday in haste I must say that I now regret not having read feedback on the hotel before booking. The only advice I can give is if you have children do not book!!
Having lived and worked in Turkey before I must say that I had yet to come across bad accomodation. My husband and I travelled with two toddlers and have to say that we have just returned after one of our worst hotel experiences.
We were given a room with a broken shower door that had missing glass. The children were provided with one cot bed for the two to share. As you can imagine a cot bed is not suitable for two three year olds.
We complained to the hotel and found the staff to be rude and hostile. As my husband and I both speak turkish we were referred onto the owner who explained that as the holiday companies only pay them £5 a night per guest and nothing for children they are not obliged to keep customers happy. His attitude was that they could not care less about dissatisfied customers as it is no real loss for them. This is reflected in the attitude of the staff who are the rudest I have ever met in Turkey.
In addition to this thinking that no-one understands I quite often heard the staff making very rude comments about the guests.
The cleanliness of the rooms was also unacceptable and the sheets and towels were also very old a frayed.
Olu Deniz is a beautiful resort and turkish people are some of the most hospitable and this hotel does not reflect this.

Jun 2008, Miss K Dowsett

me and my friend have just got back from sunny turkey.
the majestic was so lovely. we were greeted by very friendly staff who took our luggage up to our room for us.
the room is small and basic but like others have said 'you get what you pay for'.
the room was very clean and we had a small balcony too... actually if you get a side room you get two balconies.
the pool is a good size and not too cold. there are also quite alot of sun beds so you wont need to get up at like 5 to put your towel down. the breakfasts are nice too, they lay out things like boiled eggs, cheeses, bread, jams, honey etc.
the hotel is only a 10min walk from the lovely beach and there are loads of shops to look at on the way down.
i would definately reccommend this hotel.

The Majestic hotel is a must if you...
3 / 10
Jun 2008, Miss L Cunliffe

The Majestic hotel is a must if you enjoy loud music at 4am, disruptive and intolerable residents, theft, and poor customer service.
After recently staying at the hotel I can tell anyone who is heading there that in order to keep their well earned holiday spending money they MUST buy and safety deposit box as any money left in the room is 'free' for the cleaners.
Don't go there with huge expectations about a good breakfast, the thought of waking up to bread and jam every morning was some what a disappointment.
And finally double beds don't exist in The Majestic hotel, they simply push two singles together so any thought of 'cosying up' fly’s out the window the sooner you fall down the middle.
